Just as you were getting used to v1.03, here's v1.04. ;)

Download at: http://ccleaner.jump.to

Changes are as follows:

v1.04.043 - [8 Feb 2004]

- Added context menu to Registry result listview.

- Tweaked Application Path cleaning.

- Added Office 2003 cleaning.

- Added Tray Notification Cache cleaning.

- Tweaked File Extension cleaning.

- Added Installer Cleaning.

- Fixed issue with the very old Windows NT4.

- Altered fonts used within application.

Although visually everything looks the same.

Thanks for adding a 'Select All' option in the registy cleaner. Could you also add a 'Fix All' option when you go into the 'Fix Selected Issues' menu so that you dont have to click 'Fix' on every one.

Thanks again for this great program! :)

Sure can, it's on my list of things to add.

Does anyone know who I contact to get CCleaner added to the software news?

very cool... can you add paint to the programs list? that would be sweet! :)

well, a quick comparison between this app and window washer

ran ccleaner first then window washer. (both on default)

window washer found an additional 79 megs worth of wasted stuff. hmmm methinks the app might need a little more tweaking

Do you have any info on what the 79MBs consisted of?

Are you going to tell me that you have a program that you claim is just like ww but faster yet you have never ran the 2 side by side? I was trying to be nice saying it was good but needed to be tweaked more and you haven't even compared the 2?

It was 1299 internet related files at 26.8 megs

and 302 windows files at 52 megs

You want my opinion then? This little app isn't worth the time it takes to download. It's generic. I could pick 20 different programs that do the same thing only they do it better.

Take a look at Window Washer.

Your little project isn't anywhere near what this is.

It isn't a Window Washer clone when it does 10 times less than the real thing.

hell, it isn't even a clone of a poorly written app. I could get the same results from a few batch files and do the same thing your does.

Does yours have a cookie wizard interface?

Is there a plugin wizard on yours?

Can you schedule your to run at different times thru the interface?

Hell, can you even stop yours from running after it's been started?

Does it clean the memory dump?

What about the swap file or the disk checking temp files?

does is clean unused access, outlook, excel, photoeditor, powerpoint and word files?

What about netscape stuff? Does it even look for netscape?

What about AOL? Anything with aol? and on and on and on...

THAT'S why it's faster. Becouse it doesn't do as much and isn't as extensive.

So again, how exactly is this a Window Washer clone?

It's a shame you don't like the software, but luckily most people here seemed to. :)

Jeez.. It's a damn FREE program. If you want to buy Window Washer, have a blast. This guy is just being nice and trying to give someone a free program. Who knows if he is planning on adding additional features to it or not.

To the author, good luck with future development of this program. I love it.

    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
    • It's growing on me, however, your right, it make better usability sense if the tabs were bellow the address bar.
    • Qwen 3.6 is better value per dollar, and you can run it locally for free.
    • I don't believe them that anyone using threads, at least meaningfully. It's the same thing for Facebook, people just don't engage with Meta platforms like they are thinking. This isn't 2006.
