Chet Faliszek has brought his 12 year career at Valve Software to a close, our sister site GamesIndustry.biz has revealed.

Faliszek, who alongside fellow Valve employee Erik Wolpaw was behind the much-loved Old Man Murray site, contributed to Half-Life 2's episodes and helped define Portal and its sequel's off-beat sense of humour. In recent years he was an advocate for Valve's push towards virtual reality, making an appearance at 2015's EGX to go into detail on HTC Vive Steam VR.

His departure comes after fellow writer Erik Wolpaw left Valve earlier this year, while Half-Life writer Marc Laidlaw also left the company at the outset of 2016.
