Firefox 0.8

Recommended Posts

It's a personal mod at this stage. :)

It's not nearly close to being complete. I still have to look into skinning the bookmarks folder toolbar, and the tabs. I might release it in the future, provided:

- Nobody else releases one before that. I don't have much time on my hands to get this done as fast as many other themers out there. Plus, it's the first time I'm doing this.

- I get permission to release it from Kevin, the author of the original Mac Pinstripe theme.

- I'm convinced that this, in no way, infringes on any of Apple's copyrighted work.

all the settings from firebird are still in affect after i install firefox. Is there a way i can start from scratch. Im assuming that the settings are in the registry becuase i deleted the directories. Can someone tell me where firebird and now firefox save their registry settings

Which Windows theme & FireFox theme is that? I Like! And where can i get it

this maybe a repost but... i can't find it... so please bear with me... here goes...

i always go to ircspy and packetnews... on those websites when u click a link it copies something into the clipboard and then opens up mirc... and then joins a channel... in the channel u paste what it copied to the clipboard... i don't know what extension that could be... firefox right now only opens mirc not copy to clipboard...

help me please...

i also have myie2... it does that no problem

any suggestions for this?

After using 0.8 this week, I really appreciate how fast this thing is. I usually use the nightlies and will continue to do so. The only thing is, I'm not sure you can use ActiveX controls in Firefox. And launch.com and dell.com support chat won't work w/o IE. It gets an A in my book though.

I rarely used firebird aside from when developing a web page, but I'm trying to give it a shot to replace safari as my default browser - to do that I have a few issues I need to iron out. perhaps someone who's been using firebird on OS X for a while can help me out:

1) I'm using a Logitech trackball right now. In clicking the scholl wheel always functioned as middle click and would open a link in a new tab - Firefox seams to ignore it (holding CMD while clicking does open in new tabs however). Is there a way to force firebird to recognize this - I'd rather not go installing new drivers or software because I've been fine without them this far.

2) With TBE installed the first tab open at the far left. The next on open at the far right - then they open on the left edge of the right most tab working their way towards the left. It's really difficult to navigate like this.

Disabling TBE solves the problem but kills the functionality.

Just incase you miseed it: I'm talking about an OS X machine running firefox.TIA.

    • I used to use Google assistant, not on the phone i have now, but about 7 years ago, then I decided it did not really do anything for me. Because i had Echo units over the house I added Alexa to the phone to control stuff and that is how it is now. Not the new Alexa+, as that is not really available in the U.K yet apart from on new units and to be honest, not interested in it. I went though the stage years ago of using voice to do text and call people, quicker to do it using my hands. I had a muck about with Siri on my Mac when I first got it, but not having a microphone permanently plugged in makes it a pain. I know it can be used by text. Siri like Apple AI is disabled on my Mac and will stay disabled.
    • I have a TV, but it is not used for normal linear TV, only streaming and it is not a Samsung and the best bit is, I don;'t and never have had a Instagram account. The only thing I have to do with Meta is Faceache and I only keep that just for the messaging part.
    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
