Cyberpunk 2077 (PC, Xbox, Playstation)

Recommended Posts

I decided to start a topic for people, like myself, who are enjoying the game so far and might like to talk about it.    Feel free to drop any info on things you've found, what you'd like to see in the future etc.

Personally I'm waiting for more post-ending DLC that keeps the story going in some fashion.

Rumors going around from so called devs/insiders that they're planning to pull a No Mans Sky 2.0 update and rerelease the game around June.

It sounds like chunks were removed due to bugs and that the suits didn't want to delay the game even more.

Personally I'd like to get a steady flow of updates and free DLC to fix, re-add and expand the city even more.

There are lots of doors that are "locked" for example which tells me we were going to be able to go into those places but they cut it out.

I played the game for a few hours during launch week when I was on parental leave and my oldest was at nursery. And I haven't been able to pick it up since. :(

Only played around 4/5 hours but I like what I've seen so far. It does feel like it's going to be a great game but I don't think I've played enough to make that judgement.

I've played enough.  There's a crap ton of content in here and I don't feel like I'll be done anytime soon.

The only complaints I have on PC are occasionally the AI will glitch and stuff won't happen like it's supposed to, and after a little bit most of the game is crazy easy.  I feel like I don't even have to try anymore unless its stealth which I'd rather not do anyway.

Yeah, if you take the time to level up your character and armor, weapons like I have you can get pretty crazy strong.

They'll have to go in and either cap how high you can spec your gear or, better yet level up more of the enemies to scale closer to you.

For example I've got my armor up over 4k, which means I can eat up bullets for a while before my health starts to go down.

But it's not like you don't have to work to get it that high to begin with. You have to find the right gear to start and you need to level up your crafting skills.

As far as the AI issues I hope they fix those up as well because it does make it easier when they just forget about the whole idea of using cover.

I'm at the extreme other end, I've got over 120hrs in so far. Trying to get all the vehicles but it's going to cost a lot and take a good bit of time to get enough money.

It was worse at launch so I'm not too worried, but some of the console glitches I've seen seem to be the same thing.  I don't usually have other issues but once every time I spawned a car it'd be inside another car.  It was funny.

I do like how you can basically steal anything from most anywhere and nobody actually cares.  Got one of my favorite guns that way.

...I mean sure it's a semi normal RPG thing but in a city it just feels...kinda dumb.

They'll have to update the NCPD systems so if you do crimes they start to look for you, then tweak the NCPD scanner gigs so that doing those would win you favor with them and get rid of any negative stats.  It's clear that they never got around to doing what they wanted with the cops in the game.

Hope it's one of the things they fix for sure.

I've seen a lot about this, from the crazy hype, the delays and the fallout of the last-gen console issues.  What I'd like to ask is - Will my PC play this?

  • Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.00ghz
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
  • Samsung SSD 850 Pro - 512gb
  • 16 gb RAM @ 2133ghz

It's not the newest system ever, but... it shouldn't be retired yet?

I'm guessing you're going for 1080p right? I think you can run it fine with medium settings.

For example here are my specs.

Intel i7 6700k @4Ghz

16GB RAM

GTX 1070

I've got film grain off and the lensing effect off as well.

Two shadow settings are are set to medium and everything else is set to high. I run it fine, good chunk of screen tearing but I can live with it personally.

Thanks.  I've no interest in 4k gaming, so yeah 1080 would be my target.  I assume my weakest component here is my GPU?

I'd say yeah. Go with medium settings and if it's a issue you can set the NPC crowd size to low instead of high.

I also have AA set to 8x.

Thanks.  May look at a GPU upgrade at some point.

Played 156 hours total on my first player (Male Nomad), 24 hours on my second (Female Corp) so far.  On my second one, I played differently:

Spoiler

Since your character is pretty much crippled afterwards, I only completed the story mission up until it was time to go to the Afterlife.  I then went around and completed all of the Watson Gigs and Police actions and did a lot more exploring this time.  I was able to get to Level 16 and Level 43 Street Cred before I had to give in and continue the story mission.  I could have tried to get even higher, but I was just roaming around looking for groups of gang members to off, which got tedious.  I did not use a vehicle unless it was required to complete a mission.  I also did crafting a lot this time through, I didn't do any crafting at all on my first play through, until near the end.  I do wish that what you did up to this point actually affected the game afterwards.  There is really no reason to even try during the heist, the result is not going to be any different no matter what you do.

I am playing on a PS5, and get 5 - 10 game crashes per day.  I have been using quick save a lot, to limit the frustration.  I do wish you could skip the intro stuff after a crash.

Sucks about the crashes for you. On pc I've only had one crash but I think it was because I was going in and out of the settings changing things and reloading the game quickly that it gave in. Other than that no crashes when just playing the game normally.

5-10 crashes on PS5?? wow, i can imagine base PS4 is unplayable completely, why even try.

i am waiting till it fully updated and at least one major story DLC is out.

than i will revisit and i am sure it will be a lot more fun (since buy then it will feel newish again)

Fun game.  Look online for hidden stuff and youtube videos.  You can get a pet cat, there is a secrete quest to get a free bike, and you can get a free car as well.  Just a few things to look for.  On my 2nd play thru.  First time, I did the Nomad. Now, Corpo.

XBOX New Gen.  Not really many crashes.  Times when game freezes and exits out of or the XBOX turns off.  But I get that with other games as well.   Times when text/items picked up stay on the screen.  Or sound cuts our and other minor issues.  Can be solved with saving/reloading the game.    No game breaker issue for me really.

Also, lots of free legendary gear and armor laying around.  Youtube videos show that.

On XBOX New Gen.  I maybe get 1 crash during a 7hr play time.  I did find that if my console was vented properly, it would overheat and crash more often.  So I moved the position for better air flow.

It really does pay to explore the city more, you can find top level stuff if you go looking for it.  Also many side missions don't trigger unless enough in-game time has passed.  There's also a number of them that are hidden, meaning no map markers, and you can to more or less find them/run into them as you explore.  Just when I thought I was done with any side stuff I got a call out of the blue from a pretty minor side character to help with something.  Just one example.

I expect to get more of these type of minor side missions/gigs for free in a few future updates as we build up to whatever main story expansion DLC they have planned.  I can't wait to get more personally.

I'm playing on Series X and thankfully no crashes yet, but I've not played anywhere near the same amount as you guys.

Like you though, one of the first game that I played in earnest on my Series X was Arkham City and that crashed every few hours.

Little annoying bug popped up for me.  Silverhand dialog stays on the screen and will not go away unless I toggle the subtitles on/off.  Then it is gone until I reload a game or restart the game.  So every time I start the game, I got to toggle the subtitles off/on.   Outside of the city, diff dialog pops up than outside the city.  Not a game breaker, just a minor annoyance.

That sucks, I hope we're getting the first big update this month. Last thing we need is them to delay any of these future updates.

It's clear that they've left out a bunch of side missions and gigs. Some fixers like Regina gives you a lot of jobs and a few others only give you 3 or 4.

I'm craving more content asap.

They should have waited longer to release the game to be honest.  But they were getting death threats when they delayed it last time.  Partially the fans fault for how it turned out.

I would love to be able to customize the vehicles you get.  Also, to be able to change your look.  Also seems odd that no one is driving motorcycles cept you.  Yes, you see gang members have bikes but they are always parked and they never ride them.

Yup all of those things need to be added back in with these future updates.

Also we need to see some better representation of public transportation imo.

You have the fast travel points and that's cool but I'd like to have some options to ride a bus or the trains and check out the city when I don't want to drive around.

    • SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 hands on by Steven Parker I was offered the chance to test out the SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500, and full disclosure, they let me keep it regardless of my findings. Anyway, I jumped at the chance due to my long hours sitting at my desk, mousing around. Apologies for the knife cut across the top of the box; that was my doing, being a bit too heavy-handed with opening up the outer packaging. First up, what's in the box: SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 1x Type-C charging cable User Manual 1-Year Warranty (card) In short, everything you need to get started. According to the official Amazon listing, here are the key features: Full-Hand Air Compression: OS500 wraps your fingers, palm, and wrist with multi-chamber air compression for a complete hand relaxation experience. The extended massage chamber helps cover more of the hand and wrist area than standard palm-only hand massagers Palm Kneading with 6 Modes & 6 Intensities: Built-in palm kneading rollers add a hands-on massage feel, while 6 preset modes and 6 pressure levels let you choose the comfort level that fits your day—from gentle relaxation to a firmer full-hand massage 3 Heat Levels with Cooling Fan: Choose from 104°F, 113°F or 122°F warmth to suit different seasons and comfort preferences. The built-in cooling fan helps reduce stuffiness during heated sessions, keeping your hand feeling fresh and comfortable Easy Visual Display & Smart Timer: The digital image display clearly shows massage area, mode, intensity, heat level, and remaining time at a glance. Select 10, 15, or 20-minute sessions for quick office breaks, evening relaxation, or everyday hand care Rechargeable, Cordless & Comfortable: A 3000mAh battery supports over 90 minutes of full-function use on a full charge, with convenient USB-C charging. The soft inner lining, smooth ABS/PU finish, and premium black-gold design make OS500 ideal for home, office, or gifting With all that out of the way, here are my own findings. I gave it a try on both left and right hands, and as you can maybe see from the above YouTube Short, (sorry for the shaky video), my whole hand fits in, but my wrist barely enters the Hand Massager. I was able to push through a bit more with my fingertips extending out the other end to get a bit of massaging on the start of my wrist. Usage For some reason, there is a strap that is very difficult to fasten to my wrist with one hand. I am not sure what function it has, and it isn't mentioned in the user manual. The only thing I could find was in the product images that claimed "wrist precision". Unlike the Bob and Brad Hand Massager, this device does not massage the wrist anyway, even though a "wrist mode" is mentioned, which must be for smaller hands than I have, as it is mainly intended for the hand and fingers. In addition, for its steeper price, there are no disposable gloves provided in the box, which is a bit of an issue considering the internal cover (which appears to be elasticated nylon) cannot be removed for washing; so you are left with only one choice: always thoroughly wash your hands before using it. I can imagine this thing getting a bit grimy after a period of use, and that is a bit of a shame. With that said, the buttons on the device, from left to right, do the following: Heat button: 3-level heat control at 104°F, 113°F, or 122°F Mode button: Auto mode Circular mode Soothing mode Relax mode Palm and fingers mode Palm and wrist mode Intensity button: from (First-time users) 15Ka, 25Ka, 35Ka, 45Ka, 55Ka, 60Ka (Intensive relief) Knead button: on or off (6 pressure levels) Power button: Long-press to turn on or off Cooling button: turn on or off the cooling fan Also, in the product imagery, it states there are 36 "custom modes," but nowhere is it listed what these modes are. I can only imagine that they mean a combination of all of the above settings in different intensity levels. The device itself seems to rely on a single "kneading" mechanism located at the palm area of the hand, which spins when in use, and the other massage features are mainly utilized through the air sacs, increasing and decreasing at various levels on the hand and fingers. I am not sure it offered too much relief for someone who is typing and operating a mouse for hours at a time; further testing may be required. It does feel nice, though. Finally, you may be wondering how this fits into the scope of a tech website? Well, let me tell you something: sometimes I sit for up to 15 hours working on Neowin, and although I take breaks in between, it takes a toll on my body. I think in the immediate absence of a partner to apply relief, a good massager like this Hand Massager can shed the strains of the day in just a couple of 15-minute bursts. On the official website, this has an MSRP of $99.99, but luckily for our readers, it is selling at $10 off for just $89.99 right now on Amazon. SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 for $89.99 (with $10 off coupon), $99.99 MSRP For me, this gets a thumbs hands(?) down. However, it could be improved by making it so that the protective covering could be removed and thrown into the washing machine, or get yourself some disposable gloves to use with it.
