Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) initiative is rolling out to four more countries, with the company announcing new launches in Brazil and Mexico today as well as Australia and Japan tomorrow, October 1.
The expansion means the feature is now officially supported in 26 countries, letting gamers pick up and play a wide range of Xbox games from their PCs, phones, and tablets via the cloud. While enabling cloud gaming on Xbox consoles is in the plans, the feature is currently in testing.
An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is required to access Xbox Cloud Gaming like always, which also provides over 100 cloud-enabled and localized games from the Game Pass for Console catalog. Microsoft's cloud gaming facilities are powered by Xbox Series X hardware now, meaning games also come with improved frame rates and fast loading times. For those without a controller to hook up to their device, touch controls are offered on some games such as Minecraft Dungeons and Hades. The list of touch supported titles generally expands at least once a month.
While Microsoft hasn't shared an official Xbox Game Pass subscriber count in a while, a recent report puts that number at 30 million across the world. With the latest rollout in even more countries, another major injection of new users can be expected.
