Just waiting for new stuff to come out.   I'm personally counting down to the batman on March 4th, then I can come back and post what a score about it.

I don't even follow movies. New batman?? Interesting!

So far I enjoyed TellTale stories about Batman more then any of the movies. (Though Dark knight was pretty bad ass)

This this the one with that actor everyone and their mom thought was not a match??

Now this I have to see.

Nothing wrong with that! There are some amazing movies from back in the day...

Try some of these:

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

When Worlds Collide (1951)

Forbidden Planet (1954)

Them! (1954)

The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961)

The First Men in the Moon (1964)

And so many more... I'm a bit of a collector. ;)

These old movies may not have had the effects we have to day, but they had one thing Hollywood has lost.  Good writing.

  • 1 month later...

Saw Death On the Nile last night.   Looks good, acting was good, just not as much mystery as you'd expect from newer movies/stories.  I'd say overall it's a 7/10 if I had to give it a score.

The Adam Project... quite a bit of fun!

Reading previous posts also gets me nostalgic! Gattaca = Epic! Highlander = Epic, but is quite dated now... but still, what a movie!!!! My all time favourite is still The Abyss .....

Finally saw a quiet place 2, I had it on my to watch list forever.

Pretty much what I expected. 8/10 overall, it'll be interesting to see what they do for the 3rd movie.

Moonfall. Completely ridiculous as most of these types of movies are but if you turn your brain off as you hit play then it's a fun movie.

Agreed..... it was fun, as long as you dont start trying to sciencesplain it!! :D Overall, i did enjoy it as a cold evening on the couch with popcorn movie.

Watched -

Death on the Nile (2022) - Streaming on Hulu - IMDB - This movie was soooo boring.  Haven't seen the 1978 version to compare it to.  I recommend it if you're suffering from insomnia.

The Bubble (Netflix) - IMDB - This was a stupid but funny movie.  Recommended.

First I wanted to thank you from saving me from wasting time on Death on the Nile... Which I was planning to watch today.

Then I saw you recommended The Bubble and my decision to listen to you advice went down the toilet.

Anyone can recommend an adventure - but not indiana Jones?

Kinda like that Rock movie which I can't even remember the name of... I think Jungle Cruise???

Basically I want jungle or other exotic location and some theme - like treasure hunting.

I wonder if Tomb Raider moves aged well or not...

Older movies or newer?

There are the Jolie Tomb Raider movies but also a new one in 2018 with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft.

Enders Game, Star Gate, Mummy Movies (4 I think).  Pirates of the Caribbean. The Jewel of the Nile.  National Treasure (2 movies)......

Just watched the newest Scream redo/sequel, 7/10.   They kept trying to fake you out with the jump scares in this one, doing the whole music bit and having as many as 3-4 fake outs back to back.  It got pretty annoying at one point IMO.  I understand the music is suppose to build tension and grab your complete focus but it's a dumb giveaway that you're either going to get a jump scare or a fake out now.

I much rather movies ditch the music and go with more eerie quiet and normal room sounds.  I think that works better.

Spoiler

the stupidest part was when she walked through the house randomly shooting through closed doors with people in the house

I hated Moonfall.

1. Even after the "crazy" guy is proven right on every count, they continue to shame him as, and treat him like, a nutcase right up until he sacrifices himself.

2. The blatant "our friend, China" references. It tells you exactly who controls Hollywood.

I will have to rewatch national treasure 🪙

Choose or Die (Netflix) - IMDB

Nope...go watch paint dry or something.  Maybe it was ok for the first 15-20 minutes...I was sensing some SAW vibes with a paranormal twist ... but it quickly turned into a mess.  Forgettable ...

    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
