Yeah PCIe 5.0 SSDs are almost non-existent at the moment. Good for future proofing though. I know it shows great potential in DirectStorage https://www.neowin.net/news/forspoken-on-pcie-50-nvme-hints-at-the-true-power-of-microsoft-directstorage-on-windows-11/, bad sadly, yes you are out of luck!

There are a lot of great PCIe 4.0 deals though, stuff like the WD_Black, Samsung, or Crucial.

Yeah, save on the PCIe 5 for awhile. They aren't very popular right now, as only a few systems support them. Wait like a year. Wait till its more streamlined.

Hello,

Micro Center's house-brand Inland has a PCIe 5.0 ×4 NVMe SSD:

Although availability seems limited right now.

Other brands with PCIe 5.0 ×4 NVMe SSDs include:

Apacer (and their sub-brand Zadak), Corsair and Patriot Memory also have all shown PCIe 5.0 ×4 NVMe SSDs, but I do not think they have product listings up yet on their websites.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky

i am not sure if you have already made your purchase, but the Crucial P5 plus 2tb model looks like a solid buy ATM. Its just $123 https://www.neowin.net/deals/looking-for-nvme-you-shouldnt-miss-the-crucial-p5-plus-ssd-deal-samsung-980-pro-drops-too/

Thanks. I purchased a WD Black. This is a gaming build, so speed of each component was the biggest thing was looking for.

I'm going to keep checking the pricing and eventually get one. Sometimes you have spend a little to get a lot.

Prices usually go down after a lot of manufacturers are making it. Not just Crucial.

But like assuming what you said, you have to weigh potential with money ;)

It is up and dirty. It seems to be running smooth at the moment with 35C with the sides off. I have not updated the motherboard firmware yet though. The halo fans are working (but no color) and I have to clean up my wiring, but I have windows 11 installed and updated. Wireless card is working and I'm picking up Wi-Fi. I have not tried Bluetooth.
