I use Internet Explorer 6 with SP 1 and some other MS 'critical' updates. With Linux I am using Mozilla as I have not yet got my wine configured to be able to run Internet Explorer.

And now here's why:

1. IE is simple, easy to configure, does exactly what you want :yes:

2. IE is fast and does show pages as they should be (according to standards, but still allows web programmer to forget some details) :yes:

3. It is up to date :yes:

the reasons why I don't use Opera:

1. It hangs a lot (that is why this continue from last time feature was added ;) )

2. It has some standards issues, which unlike IEs are disturbing and important :(

the reasons why I dont use Mozilla:

1. It does the rendering poorly (which I guess is not all Mozillas fault). While IE and Opera show web pages alike, Mozilla has them deformed. :(

However I conside the overall of Mozilla (far) better than Opera. One con is about all the browsers - all of them are different at handling DOM (mostly in aspects not regulated by standards), which makes writing web pages using DOM difficult. :(

However I find it interesting to see how IE has lost its popularity last months (half a year), which is shown by the poll results.

Personally I have no significant problems with popups. I can't disallow all of them as I need some on some pages. And there are not so many popups on the web - or I have disabled them from IEs properties (well - it does not have it written like 'disable popups' - istead you have ability to disallow opening third party popups and ability to disallow active scripting that most popups use and some more settings like that).

Also Mozilla 1.3 for the very few sites that Opera doesn't like. Tried Firebird but the damned thing won't install on my XP machine (Grrr... :( )

My conversion process has gone ... IE6 -> Opera -> MyIE2 -> Firebird

With Firebird being my main browser now for about 3 months.
