  • New: When you load a rules file with a profile loaded and if it's going to add more than 10 names or accounts to your autocomplet.e file, it warns you and gives you a list of names and accounts that will be added, just incase you have the wrong profile loaded.
  • New: Added QIF support to the setup wizard.
  • New: If the application starts and no default account is found, you’ll now see a prompt indicating setup is incomplete, guiding you to enter a default account.
  • New: Replaced the current Rules Editor menu and Autocomplete options with a much cleaner interface.

Version 5.1 Released

  • Fixed: After loading a rules file, the name of the currently loaded csv or QBO/OFX file name would get erased next to the version number. It looks like it's been doing that forever.
  • Fixed: When loading a profile and then a rules file, a confirmation message would appear prompting you to double-check that the correct profile was loaded before adding new autocomplete entries (names, accounts, and classes). However, these entries were being added to the rules file even if you clicked "No." This has been corrected—entries are now only added if you confirm with "Yes."
  • Fixed: When Loading a QBO/OFX file the currently loaded profile name would disappear next to the version number.
  • New: Class support. If you don't use classes you can hide the classes column by pressing the "Hide Class column" button in the top right.
  • New: Redesigned the Add to Rules dialog box. It now has both a simple matching, and a "Show advanced matching". Advanced matching is everything you could do in the actual rules editor.
  • New: Moved Export to QIF into the IIF dialog Box.
  • New: Added the split totals match the transaction amount check to QIF Files.
  • New: Which you click in a text box, besides searching via autocomplete, a box now drops down that you can scroll through.
  • New: Added "Add check to memo line" under "Other options". If a transaction has for example Check 292 or Check #292 it will add only transactions with those names to the memo line.
  • New: When you click "Update Available" the box you are taken to now has a button "Download new version" next to the ok button
  • Updated: Renamed Convert to IIF to Convert to IIF / QIF.
  • Updated: Renamed Add to rules to Add to / Edit Rules.
  • Updated: Redesigned the Splits don't match transaction amount dialog box.
  • Updated: Updated the UI of the contribution box.
  • Updated: Other Small UI updates.

I'm sure I'll have more questions and ideas as I use it more.

  1. But it would be great if the "date" column used the windows localisation settings i.e. will show as DD/MM/YYYY if that's the default on windows (or provide an option for date display).
  2. I seem to have issues with rules matching when there is a # or & in the middle of the vendor/payee.
  3. It would be great if an iff file could be created with new vendors to add in the situations when new vendors are included in the OFX/CSV files, that are not know to avoid import errors
  4. When assigning the Expense/Income account. Will be helpful to be able to highlight multiple lines and have them bulk changed. e.g. search "salary" or "Automatic payment" and then can select several lines and change account. (May be a work around for when a rule doesn't work or make sense to be built).
  5. When working through adding accounts, pressing the down arrow selects the next row, makes it blue, but would be great to be able to press enter and have the "Edit Transaction Details" window to open. Will saving have to move mouse to keyboard when editing lines

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I had all my accounts (except main transaction account) all imported and reconciled.

I then imported my transactional account last as a iff (same process as the other accounts, all mapped, nothing uncategorized). I then ended up with it creating a pile of duplicate transfers to my other accounts.

I then had to jump into all the reconciled accounts and delete out all the duplicate transfers.

I feel like this would normally have shown some 'matches' for me to accept or reject, instead of loading them all in.

Any guidance on where I went wrong

For example like this, but requires qbo files?

Sorry for all the posts, I can't edit them after 30 mins...

Just used the bank balance feature, very awesome! so much easier and faster.

Only downside is it only accepts csv with dates in the mm/dd/yyyy format. When importing a report from quickbooks that was exported in dd/mm/yyyy format the import fails (needed to convert the dates via excel).

If possible, click on help and contact me and then hit me up on telegram.

Duplicates are usually caused by specifying the same account in the rules that you are exporting the iif to.

For instance, if I'm in Quickbooks working with a transaction and if I'm in my account called "Personal Checking" ... and if I go to categorize a transaction under Life:personal but accidentally select "Personal checking" (the same account it's already in) I'll get a duplicate transaction.

Good morning, thanks for making this.  I am finally sick of them disabling importing transactions. I mean I can understand making you upgrade to use direct connect, but for manual file import of web connect omg that's it!

I use QuickBooks Pro 2021 for two companies.  My bank (CHASE), allows me to download Web Connect files as well as excel   I have banking rules already setup so normally everything auto maps in one sec and I'm done aside for some ACH transactions that require me to input things manually.   I watched the tutorial and also searched the thread so I have a few questions.

  1. What files should I use for this purpose Web Connect QBO or is it better to use EXCEL/CSV option?
  2. Can I export the rules from QuickBooks Pro 2021 and import them into CSVtoIIF511?
  3. If I can't export then import the rules what in your opinion is the best way to proceed?
  4. Since the update, importing of QBO and assuming direct connect functions are disabled, importing of CSV and IFF are still enabled?

Thanks for making this, I am taking today to learn all of this so I can reconcile and file taxes for my corps and get K1 out to my partners whom have been waiting to do their personal returns as well so I appreciate your help.  I want to learn how to best use and execute this beautiful software so its super easy moving forward and finally be at peace about Intuits monopolistic practices.

Unfortunately you can not export your existing rules out of Quickbooks. I've done extensive research on this. It's just not possible. not. least not on the desktop version of Quickbooks.

It would have been so awesome if quickbooks allowed this.

Understand, but I think what happens is

Account A) Import iif has a $150 transfer to Account B.  When this transaction is imported, the balance of Account A goes down, and Account B balance goes up. i.e. the double entry is processed.

I then import the iif file to get the bank records for Account B.

Account B iif includes the $150 already, but adds it again as part of the iif import. Thus leading to two entries for the same $150 transfer.

I then need to delete the Account B iif import line entry for the $150, otherwise Account B ends up with 2 x $150 ($300) total.

Is that what this feature basically does (timestamp in the tutorial video - Awesome tutorial by the way).

I then made a few bulk tweaks in the .json file to replace the # and a few odd entries at the top that matched everything and replace it with blank the rule was something like ( | |).

That then gave me a 95% matching starting point.

I guess it kinda does that.

Just posting to say just found this app, and looking like it's going to have great potential!

Thanks so much for creating it.

Any ideas on best way to get notifications of a new release?

This new version 5.3.1 includes a popup notification when a new release is available. It also lets you download the new release to the folder the current one is in, simply by clicking download.image.png.e4ba77862ffafaaff79e74c98e80f3a1.png

So dumb question, I import about once a year as I don't have many transactions.  Currently using v4.5.4.9 as I know it worked previously.

Can I upgrade CSV/QBO to the latest version? Or will that break the rules file I set up?  What I have works fine, sort of. It has the issue of making check numbers for every transaction, so not sure if that is fixed in a newer version.  I just export CSVs one time a year from PNC and match up the columns.

Again, a lifesaver of a program.

That said, is anyone else having problems where Intuit is asking you to login to your "Intuit Account" but then just getting a spinning wheel that never gives you an intuit login prompt. (Desktop Pro 2021.)

I'm worried they have found away to make our old copies of Quickbooks no longer work.

The rules should work just fine in the new version.

The check numbers that appear isn't the converter doing it, it's the stupid 2019 and above method for importing an IIF file That method also leaves the names off of deposits.

I recommend backing up the rules file just as a general precaution against data lost  from any type of issue including hardware failure.

Regarding the spinning wheel when it wants you to log in... you could try ALT+F4

That's suppose to be a hot key to close programs, wondering if it will close QuickBooks or just that window.

Personally this Surface Ultra Cassis reminds me a bit of Razor. It would be interesting if it could handle proper gaming and be 17 inch.
    • No idea, frankly, I'm not into minimum requirements gaming, but it would be an interesting test to find out. Also, I just have to point out that it wasn't my intention to downplay the performance of DXVK on Linux or Linux gaming in general (despite my own experience being a bit of a mixed bag). I just thought it would be good to point out that DXVK is not Linux exclusive and that you can benefit from using it even in Windows.
