Opera for Android 90 has a smarter Aria AI and more engaging bookmark folders

Opera for Android 90 is now available with improvements to Aria AI and bookmark folders that can now have their own emoji.
Upgraded Aria AI in Opera for Android

Opera has just announced version 90 of its Android browser with significant improvements to its built-in Aria AI. In this update, Aria AI now tries to detect a specific category in your chat with responses containing enhanced content, helpful suggestions, and links to additional information.

Some of the categories that Opera gave examples of include recipes, shopping and gaming - so when you ask about things to do with these categories, and more, you will get enhanced answers. For example, instead of one recipe, you might get three different recipes, or various game suggestions and also hyperlinks to specific things you’re looking for.

For those who haven’t tried Aria AI yet, it’s baked directly into the browser for quick access. It can also summarize articles or act as a general assistant to help you find information or ask questions.

Bookmark folders in Opera for Android get emoji

Aside from improvements to Aria AI, Opera for Android 90 introduces a new feature that allows users to add emoji to their bookmark folders. It has made this move to give users more personalization options and to make the organization more intuitive and visually appealing. It’s a pretty clever move because mobile devices have less screen space to fit full bookmark folder names, so having an emoji allows you to identify folders more easily.

To use the new feature, press on your profile icon, go to Bookmarks, then go to New folder/edit existing folder and set an emoji. To be clear, the emoji for the folder will be visible alongside the folder name, rather than as a replacement.

Finally, Opera VPN Pro has been upgraded with this release. It includes expanded server infrastructure to 48 locations (15 new countries) for more options and better performance. Opera has also integrated the Lightway protocol into its VPN for more efficiency, speed, and post-quantum protection. Opera VPN Pro is a premium feature that you have to pay for, but you can get a 7-day free trial.
