Paradox Interactive is expanding its subscription program portfolio, and it's another grand strategy game that's being targeted this time. The publisher's most successful grand strategy game, Crusader Kings III, is now touting a subscription, letting players access every piece of content the game has to offer for a monthly fee.
At the time of writing, Crusader Kings III has almost $200 worth of downloadable premium content, which includes full-fledged expansions, civilizations, and gameplay additions. Paradox says that the subscription is an alternative for those who want to play (or try out) the complete game without outright buying all the DLC.
This is not the first time that Paradox has offered a subscription plan for one of its games. Previously, Crusader Kings II, Hearts of Iron IV, and Europa Universalis IV have received the feature, which the publisher has called a success.
"Real strategy requires cunning, and if you’ve been reluctant to test your scheming ways on the grand medieval landscape of Crusader Kings III, this subscription will allow you to experience the many new events and decisions as well as fresh historical flavor and character, with new challenges drawn from the distant past," says Paradox about the new option.
Here's everything that's included in the Crusader Kings III subscription program:
- Expansions, adding new major features, and dramatically transforming the game experience.
- Flavor packs, which highlight historic struggles in specific regions.
- Event packs with colorful new choices for your characters as they make their mark on history.
- Cosmetic content, including historical clothing styles for some regions and music packs for deeper immersion.
- Every content pack is specifically designed for Crusader Kings III by established community modders and creators.
- All “instant unlock” content is provided to Chapter owners throughout the life of Crusader Kings III.
The Crusader Kings III subscription plan costs $9.99 per month. Discounts are applied if players pay for three or six months at once.
