Amazon UK is selling iPhone 16 Plus (256GB) at its lowest price, get it now

If you're in the UK and looking for a phone upgrade, the iPhone 16 Plus 256GB is now at its lowest price. Avoid the new phone tax, but don't settle for a museum piece.

If you are in the UK and looking for an iPhone upgrade, the 256GB lineup of the somewhat obscure iPhone 16 Plus is at its lowest price on Amazon UK. What would normally cost you £899 now only costs £764.10, thanks to a generous 15% discount. The Black, Pink, Teal, and Ultramarine versions are affected by this discount (purchase link down below), while the White model is unfortunately priced at £799.

Buying this deal has two big benefits. First, you are getting in below the cost Apple still sells the 128GB version of the iPhone 16 Plus for on its website (£799). Secondly, by buying one generation behind, you are not paying the new phone tax. Also, if you like useless trivia, you can tell people that this is the last Plus version of the iPhone as the 17 Series does not contain one, probably because it is more overlooked by the people clamouring for the Pro Max.

The iPhone 16 Plus features a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, which is just over half an inch bigger than the iPhone 16 display. It also features the popular dynamic island, which has been a feature since the iPhone 15. Compared to the newer iPhone 17, it is missing the ProMotion technology and Always-On Display, however.

Powering the iPhone 16 Plus is the A18 chip which contains a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing. This is similar to the A19 chip in the iPhone 17, except the newer model’s 5-core GPU comes with Neural Accelerators for a bit more AI processing power.

In terms of battery life, on a single charge Apple claims you will have 27 hours of video playback. It supports MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W with a 30W adapter or higher, it is also compatible with MagSafe cases, wallets, wireless chargers, and more. If you want to charge on the wire, this phone uses USB-C and can achieve 50% charge in 35 minutes.

Regarding cameras, on the front of the 16 Plus is a 12MP TrueDepth camera with tap to zoom. On the back there is an advanced dual-camera system that includes a 48MP Fusion Main and a 12MP Ultra Wide. They support next-gen portraits with Focus and Depth Control and macro photography. When recording video they support Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60 fps.
