AMD's 16-core 5900XT (AM4) and 8-core 7800X3D (AM5) are very good deals

One of the major benefits of getting the 7800X3D is that you can save money on buying RAM.

Yesterday we covered a desktop CPU deal in the form of the Ryzen 9 5900XT. The chip is selling for only $260, its lowest price in over three months. The 5900XT is a 16-core processor that can do everything pretty well and is a great buy if you are on socket AM4.

However, if you are on AM5 or are looking to upgrade and want one of the best gaming processors in the market today, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is currently selling for only $325, an offer that's hard to refuse for the performance you are getting (purchase link under the specs table down below).

While the 7800X3D is not a great all-rounder CPU like the 5900XT, the part is extremely capable as a gaming unit thanks to its 96MB of 3D V-cache. It's typically faster than most Intel CPUs as well as AMD chips except 9000X3D parts. The V-cache on the unit also ensures that you will not need to pair it up with fast DDR5 RAM. Since DDR5 RAM is quite expensive these days (a new tech could help it get cheaper), this will help you save a lot of bucks. Aside from gaming, the massive vertically stacked L3 cache can also help out massively in certain AI workloads.

The 7800X3D does not come with a cooler, as there is no boxed cooling solution; a 240 mm AIO is recommended at minimum. If you want to go with air cooling, make sure you have a high-airflow case.
