"The pits in CherryOS"

http://www.drunkenblog.com/drunkenblog-archives/000501.html

-Updated 2005.03.15

"There's been a lot of buzz about Cherry OS lately -- since they started actually selling their product -- but there are some real pits in Cherry OS, and the people behind it (MXS), that aren't getting enough attention.

This isn't about nitpicking marketing claims, we're going to be breaking down some really uncool stuff involving taking GPL-based code from PearPC (among other projects) and completely false performance claims being used to get people to hand over their cash."...

Also, Daniel Foesch, PearPC AltiVec developer, has updated his code to thoroughly trounce any speed claim made by CherryOS .

http://starport.dnsalias.net/index.php?show=article&id=348

Daniel also interviewed CherryOS "programmer" Arben Kryeziu by phone (prepare to amazed at how blatant this company is) :

Don't use CherryOS. Use PearPC. If you buy it, you just waste your hard-earned money.

visit this site: http://prasys.skidsoftware.com He just upload a new version of pearpc and it is easy to configure.

You've been punked by one of the odest tricks in the book. It's just matching backgrounds - that's it. If you want the translucent title-bar, then you'll have to wait till Longhorn is released.

Q1. 10.3 and 10.4 should run at the same speed.

Q2. Sound support is crap.

Q3. We already answered.

Q4. What are you asking ?? Tiger > Panther > Jaguar etc etc. Get it ??

Q5. It runs almost at the same speed in Linux.

    • This saddens me greatly
    • Well again I do not mind seeing it charge my stuff if it does it well. "yeah charge my phone like that, charge it good"
    • Getting so tired of this push for that new useless slop over the less-useless old slop that at this point I just want M$ to have this nice, big, hearty cup of *FU*.
