Hi there, i got a couple of problems since last 0.3 pre,

At first, when i launch ppc with the keycompose option, it loads and stop for about 2/3sec and the dos console says [iO/PROM] <Error> currently b0rken in promboot.cc line 1012

But that's ok if i comment the line with a #.

After that when my ppc load successfuly, my mouse get very very slooow to finally crash with the dos msg : [iO/CUDA] <Warning> left: 5

What does it mean ?

Is that a wellknown problem or what ?

Here's my config file (i use the athlon optimised version)

ppc_start_resolution = "1280x768x32"

redraw_interval_msec = 40

key_compose = "F11"

key_change_cd_0 = "none"

key_toggle_mouse_grab = "F12"

key_toggle_full_screen = "Alt+Return"

prom_bootmethod = "auto"

prom_env_machargs = "-v"

prom_driver_graphic = "video.x"

cpu_pvr = 0x00088302

memory_size=0x20000000

pci_ide0_master_installed = 1

pci_ide0_master_image = "PantherImage.img"

pci_ide0_master_type = "hd"

pci_ide0_slave_installed = 0

pci_ide0_slave_image = "/dev/cdrom"

pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"

pci_rtl8139_installed = 1

pci_rtl8139_mac = "de:ad:ca:fe:12:35"

pci_usb_installed = 1

nvram_file = "nvram"

Thank you guyz hope you'll find something

I learned something from another very popular forum on the Internet.

1) Read the entire thread before posting. Despite what your kindergarten teacher said, you are not special. Your problem is not unique, and has probably been answered seven ways from Sunday.

2) You should not ask questions until you have a reasonably high post count, or you have been on the forums for more than one nanosecond.

3) LURK MORE.

This has been a public service announcement from your local forum watchdog. Have a nice Internet.

I'm following this thread since it's beginning and registred last month so, no it has not been answered, but it's allways nice to learn a month equal a nanosecond.

For the postcount i didnt knew.

3? Lurk more ? I don't know what you mean.

By the way, thank you, you've been very helpful.

Has OSX ever worked on your virtual disk? I've had to reinstall OSX once already.. it was working, and then I just *couldnt* get it to boot. Try using a later CVS build, or making a new image and trying to reinstall.

Somebody needs a refresher course in TCP/IP Networking. :rolleyes:

A subnet is a group of computers with similar IP addresses. All the computers on my local network, for example, are on the subnet 192.168.21.xxx . This means that I have to assign them an IP address in the range of 192.168.21.1 ~ 192.168.21.254. You cannot use 0 and 255; those are reserved for routing traffic.

A subnet mask is a mathematical expression of how many IPs you plan to give out in a particular subnet. The typical mask is 255.255.255.0. Sometimes you can set them to 255.255.255.128, or .64, or .32, etc... The full explanation is very technical and way beyond the scope of this thread.

Click here for a nitfy subnet calculator that might explain it a little better.

And Webopedia.com has a nice entry for "Subnet Mask."

As for those of you who want to change your router's LAN address, the procedure will be different for each manufacturer.

The procedure is basically this: You need to access the router's configuration page by opening your browser and pointing your browser to http://192.168.x.1, where x will be your IP address "class C." Look at your own IP address to get this number. Most routers ask for a username and password at this point. If you have no idea what to do here, try admin in either the username or password fields. Or try it in both. If that doesn't work, consult your router's manual. Next, you'll be looking for the LAN configuration. You'll want to change the LAN (not WAN) address to 192.168.Z.0, where Z some number OTHER than 0, 1, or your current LAN address.

i think i no what a subnet is somehow but it doesnt need to be used in a home situation like he has used its basically splitting the network up into segments y would u need that in you house unless u have something like 50 business computer in 1 room and another 25 in another room and u want them segmented so that information doesnt cross through the network to the other subnet unless its needed :s

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
