Norton AntiVirus 2005 Screenshots

Recommended Posts

Here is a list of some of the new Norton AntiVirus 2005 Features:

-New "Manual Removal" option in Scan Window (No idea what its used!)

-New Internet Worm Blocker

-Enhanced Detection and Removal

-New version of LiveUpdate [version 2.5] (Not sure if this is for External Tests only, but it has "Avenge Microdefs" and a few other new options listed)

-I did not see an activation process at all

-Enhanced Interface

As for the users having trouble with License Keys and Norton AntiVirus 2004, a known issue with Activation caused you to have to keep reactivating. Simply call the Symantec Technical Support Line and request they reset your activations due to the restart reactivate problem.

Norton AntiVirus 2005 is expected in October or November 2004

These features should be an update to NAV2004 - A service pack not a new version.

As far as the new interface goes - (N) is my verdict. I'll stay with Kaspersky thanks.

Yeah, but I was wondering about other people who install every spyware or adware that pops up on their screen. It would be nice if there was something built into the antivirus programs to help combat that.

McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8 when released in July will help in combating that and i think the retail version of Mcafee will do the same.

Dunno if the other companies are thinking of the same idea.

Well, I'll still be the first in line when Norton SystemWorks 2005 comes out. Its only $30.00 for me because I have a Mail-in rebate, and that beats anything else. I think the new features are great, and your forgetting they just created this new version, its still got a lot of work to be done undoubtably.

I'd go for the corporate version anyday, way more slick than that cartoonish UI.

But that's a matter of taste I guess, same AV engine I presume...

Corp. version is nice and lite ;) nav hogs system resources with auto protect

Norton 2004 was a disgrace to Symantec Corp. I hope they do fix 2005 to at least match up to the 2003 version, which to me is the best one they have.

ahh crap.. the same stupid design used over again, how surprizing...

at least this time they added a few designs.. has norton creators ever heard of "NEW DESIGNS"? every version ive had looks exactly the same... i dont see why i should bother getting 2005, when i have the exact same model 2004 LOL.

i guess this time.. they'll impliment a better keygen system, each time it gets beat, whats gonna crack it this time?

  • 2 months later...

After seeing norton 2004 on my mates computer im never going to use it.

He moved a 700mb file and norton popped up a window saying it was scanning it as it moved, slowed it down LOADS

ok there is careful and then there is overly the top stupid. Fair enough if it had a faster scan engine np's but the fact it added at least another 2 mins to just moving a file was stupid. And the amount of reasources it uses is way too much.

I have used Mcaffe for years and had no problems and dont look to be changing anytime soon... but am looking into bit defender.

Tell him to turn off compressed file scanning.
