this thing is buggy, it identifies my SP2 file as build 2180, yet it is (Pre-SP2)? i am 120% sure that it is the RTM version, it is the final build 2180, so how the heck can it be Pre-SP2???

it's not buggy at all - you see, when i was coding it i had no idea what the final build would be, so right now AutoStreamer has no idea that 2180 is the final SP2 build... A "fixed" version will be released soon to address that. Functionality-wise the difference between "Pre-SP2" and "SP2" is 0.

I've experienced this BUG aswell. So I just slipstreamed the old fashion way with commands and dealing with boot loaders. & that sorted me out. So wen Raptor comes back hopefully he can update it and squash a few bugs ;)

Right now AutoStreamer will take you half way through the process... meaning it will do everything EXCEPT burning the image file. Have in mind that using wrong options during burning procedure can render bottable cd images non-bootable... For example, make sure you use Disc-At-Once while burning.

Cheers, my fault I used Nero Express to burn the ISO file, when I opened the .ISO file in Explorer it directed me to Roxio Disc Copier, in my ignorance I ignored this and tried to burn using Nero Express instead of Disc At Once. :(

I have now burned the file using Roxio Disc Copier and all is well resulting in a bootable Win XPSP2 CD :)

Thank you for you help, great program.

OK I'm back in Athens for a few hours, so I compiled the fixed version of AutoStreamer... Same link...

AutoStreamer 1.0.29

Fixes:

- It now detects 5.1.2600.2180 as Windows XP SP2 and not Pre-SP2

- Should work with ALL languages

ATTENTION: All-In-One solutions are not and will never be supported.

Nicely done, Rap! :D

EDIT - I editted the first post to show the changes. (Y)

I have the same problem in the screenshot above. 1.0.29 does not recognize XP SP1, SP1a, or SP2 RTM. I get the same error "Wrong Operating System" I've tried using my WinXp Home OEM cd and my xp pro/sp1 integrated cd. NO joy. Autostreamer 1.0.28 works fine tho. Using 1.0.28, I had no problems at all slipping SP2 RTM into my xp pro corp/sp1 cd. Don't know yet if the final product actually works, since my other comp is at a friend's house atm, tho.

I'll know in a few days.

And for all of you arguing many posts ago about WPA and Dell comps, from my experience so far with Dell comps, ALL versions of XP, when installed on a Dell comp, do not require activation, no matter what serial is used. This is because MS and Dell partnered together ages ago on the down low. It's all in the Dell bios. XP recognizes the Dell bios and activates itself automatically. Not only have I experienced this personally, but I have a friend who's father works for Dell in Austin, TX and he told me about the Dell bios. I installed my own XP Home OEM which I bought online long ago, on a Dell Inspiron laptop using the cd key I got off the bottom of the comp. It installed fine and needed no activation. Could possibly be a combination of the Dell bios and Dell cd keys, but I know for a fact the bios has something to do with it.

Great work on AutoSteamer btw.

This new version keeps telling me I'm using the wrong Operating System

I know from experience with working and building the Windows Ultimate Boot CD that sometimes programs can be VERY picky. So I would suggest trying putting the contents of the CD on your HD, say in a folder named C:\XPSP1 (keeping to the 8.3 name standards and on the ROOT drive) and then put SP2 in a folder like C:\XPSP2 (same 8.3 standards and root drive). Then try it again and see what happens. This has solved A LOT of problems with similar programs so maybe it will help with this, I don't know. Never hurts to try. :)

Ive tried doing my XPhome Gold to SP2 and my XPpro corp gold to SP2, both come out looking good, but when I try test installing on a clean drive, I get "disk read error" after the first reboot in setup....the one where it would boot from the HDisk the first time.

What am I doing wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that!

    • AirPods Pro 3 are now available for only $179 by Taras Buria Apple's third-gen AirPods Pro 3 introduced a few important upgrades over the previous generation while retaining the old $249 price. Still, that is quite a lot of money for a pair of earbuds, but the good news is that right now, you can save quite a lot of money on them, thanks to a new all-time low price. AirPods Pro 3 retain their classic look and form factor, with changes focused on the inside. These earbuds now come with five sets of foam-silicone tips, which sit much more securely in your ear, making the earbuds a perfect choice for physical activities and workouts. Additionally, new tips provide better passive noise cancellation. Speaking of noise cancellation, ANC is now much better at blocking outside noise, with Apple claiming the AirPods Pro mute up to two times more sound than the AirPods Pro 2. The AirPods Pro 3 also have heart rate sensors for activity tracking during workouts. They also support Live Translation and Hearing Aid mode. As for battery life, you get up to 8 hours on a single charge, with the case adding 20 more. The case supports wireless (Qi or Apple Watch charger) and wired charging over USB Type-C (cable not included). • Everything I have read is that the BBC is still Pro Doctor Who but wants a solid plan before they let anyone else try to do it. Which is fair.
    • I totally agree no one should trust governments AND big tech companies that have near monopolies in certain market segments. The difference is of course citizens at least have some say in government. Yes, requiring Apple to open up Sirsi to other AI backends is in the interest of EU customers and certainly "opens" up the platform a crack. What are you saying? I wish the US would regulate tech companies more here and even break them up in some cases. Granted trusting the government to do it right is a crap shot at best but what is the alternative? To allow a few tech companies to continue to run everything and just print money? It's crazy to me for example that in most of the world 99% of communications go thru Facebook servers via WhatsApp. What kind of dystopian world are we living in?
    • You can.. make sure you have ADB tools on whatever OS you are running, plug your phone into your PC give it approval to talk to the phone then run this command. adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.chrome So long as you leave Android Webview untouched it wont break anything on your Phone to do this. I have been using exclusively Firefox mobile since it was released.
    • If it ain't broke, don't fix it. One Commander Free also available in the Store has been my goto Files Manager for years. It does what I need at a more than reasonable speed. I do occasionally use Files Explorer just because it is there and does what I need without any problems when I use it.
