Windows XP SP2 Build 2162 on Windows Update v5

I just swapped the 4 (http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com) for a 5 and it let me use it. I'm not a beta tester or anything such like, just a person who swapped a number around.

I will add one bit of usefull info though..... once you change the 5 and download the file, it will send you there as default thereafter (if you try swapping the 4 back and downloading the older WU, it'll still take you to 5 as default.)

Same for me. I have the network install from the official beta website but i can't reformat as i need the pc for university work.

im hoping that your "BetaID" isnt your real one... microsoft get shirty if even those are given out. (dont ask me why, they are useless without tis associating passport, but an NDA is an NDA at the end otf the day.)

Anyway.. With regards to the reg key. Its only "officially" available to us who are testing wU5 (you dont need to be an SP2 tester). However, i dont trust express installs, so the full network install it is for me :)

Well, you see, official testers dotn need to "go through that", we just get it from winbeta :)

Anyways, I'll just await the final SP2 at the beginning of August, right?

Does someone know if this RTM date of SP2 is only for the English version, or will international versions (like Dutch) also be released on the same date??

Just finished installing....this is my first boot with the new build. I think it was done a while ago but I just woke up from a micro nap & had to push the 'reboot now' button. Oh well. It booted up fine so my ascii is going back for a power nap now.

Well, there you go. Had 2149 on put 2162 on, now back to 2149 :o

2162 was giving me errors everytime I right clicked on anything :angry:

Hope that one gets fixed when the final comes out.
