Here's the fix for Windows Server 2003. I have been testing it for the last five hours (tested on my main rig first and then on a fresh install of WinS2k3 in VmWare) without any problems, but you still do this at your own risk. The instructions are in the zip file.

Enjoy :D

Sandman: did you uninstall WMP9 before installing WMP10? I can only run it if I run wmplayer.exe from extracted dir. If I try overwriting the file in Windows Media Player folder, but Windows keep restoring the old file (does anyone know how to disable this dumb function???). Bad :(

Why does it say there are no stores available for my location?

I live in the UK by the way.

If you want WMP10, I'v uploaded it here: http://bigcheese.shyper.com/wmp10.exe

I am guessing it will be coming to Europe later on (few months). First will be out in USA. I bloody well hope they will accept debit cards (solo, switch, visa electron)

Can someone with XP do us Windows 2003 users a favor and upload their auto-playlist files from the final version of wmp10? The reason why I ask is that with wmp9/10 the autoplaylists are always missing for some reason on Windows 2003.

Thanks!

btw, wmp10 is excellent. I checked over the memory usage and when it's minimized playing a song it is using around 5-7 megs of ram, and 12-14 when it is fully open. So as far as bloat goes, it doesn't appear to have added much. Others might disagree with me, atleast with the interface, but personally I like it more. I recommend people turn on the enhanced features as they add a lot of neat addons. Also in the mini player mode u can now seek durring the song, which was a much needed feature. My one complaint about version 10 is that there still isn't native .ogg support. I know there is a directshow filter, which I do use, but I miss not being able to use all of wmp feature's with it, like rattings and and view tag information. Anyone figure out a way to fix that?

mohennessey-

where/what is this local "like" thing? Is it an autoplaylists?

One of the core libraries (cURL) has been updated to address vulnerabilities and a nasty linker error that was causing the need for a dedicated patch which could now be eliminated.
