Hehe, nice :p

I have seen several people post whether to get the klipsch promedia ultra 5.1s or z5500. If you want digital outputs then get the z5500s, otherwise klipsch have much better sound quality, for sure. considering the price gap between the promedia ultras and then z5500s is so slim, its really surprising how many people are jumping on board for the z5500s... honestly, logitech are notorious for some muddy lows, and some uncrisp highs. This is not a biased review since i HAVE z-680s, which i prefer to these considering they use speaker wire, which is much better in my book than RCA (though the volume control is CRAP, very VERY crap). I enjoy the z680s, but sometimes regret not buying the klipsch, i just imagine how much better some of my music could be sounding with some klipschs powering them.

finally, if you are considering going from promedia 5.1 ultras to z5500s, DONT, that is like paying $270 for some speakers that probably dont sound as good with some digital outputs. If you are considering jumping from klipsch to something else, go for a $500-$800 home theatre system.

hey guys, I just order a set of z5500 :D but now i need to know what wire do i need to connect it to my laptop :(

this is the sound card that I have

SigmaTel STAC9767 with wavetable, 3D effect, and 3D positioning; Dolby Headphone application simulates realistic surround sound using conventional stereo haedphones while playing DVD movies; Headphone, microphone and optical digital (SPDIF)audio-out/stereo line in-jack; 2 internal stereo speakers.

can some1 plz help me with this?

thnx in advance

If its a Stereo (2.1) then just plug the Green cable into the Headphone Socket and set the Logitech Control Pod to Stereo x2 (You will not have sound from the Centre Channel in the mode)

Id recommend getting a 5.1 Soundcard for your laptop & / or PC otherwise these speakers will be wasted.

What about the optical digital (SPDIF) audio-out, couldn't i use it for digital sound if i get an optical cable?

Thse babies are rocking on! And there is truly nobody who can deny the power of those considering the price. You get it all for an amazing price: clear mid, sharp vocals, bombastic, absolutely heavy bass, no matter whether you are listening to a Celine Dion CD, the newest one from 3 Guys Never In or Strapping Young Lad you always get superb sound quality and no remarkable hissing at all.

Those Klipsh users are just jealous cuzz they've paid way too much for a minimally better sound quality.

Can't you like tape the cable down in the position that it makes no hissing?

If you know what i mean? :/

I dunno if it was mentioned before but the very recent packages of those babies contain an updated set of the satelite boxes with NON-attached cables. Mine don't look likt this one:

They instead have good quality loose wires that you can very well replace with longer ones or more high quality if you wish (isn't much of an issue tho).

Does anybody know how to open the satelity speakers? Do they have some hidden screws or the snap-in enclosure?

I just unscrewed the stand for the speaker, but the screw fall inside the speaker and rattles now inside there.....

Anybody knows?

I need to open them somehow, but I dunno want to destroy them....

once you unscrew the stand, take off the cover and then take out the 4 rubber plugs that hold the front cover. unscrew and pull off the front, its glued along the sides, so it will take some force... but dont break it ;)

thats at least how mine were, my gf's dad was putting them up for me while i was away and he did the same thing... heh

That was so obvious...

Thanks a million for help. I fixed that :D

    • This 4K webcam from Acer is now only $59.99 by Taras Buria Those looking for an affordable, high-resolution webcam from a reputable manufacturer can check out the latest deal from Acer, which puts its 4K webcam at a solid price. Thanks to a 14% discount, you can buy this all-metal 4K webcam from Acer for just $59.99. Despite the affordable price tag, the webcam has a pretty large 1/2" CMOS sensor manufactured by Sony. Apart from its size, it supports additional conveniences, such as high dynamic range and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). Plus, the camera ensures you do not have to buy additional audio equipment, as it comes with two built-in high-sensitivity microphones, a built-in background noise filter, and the ability to pick up your voice from up to 2.5 meters away. Acer is not cheaping out on materials, and the webcam is enclosed in a more premium metal case, which is also good at heat dissipation (high-resolution cameras can get quite hot). And to make sure no one is peeping at you when the camera is in use, there is a magnetic cover also made of metal. Additional conveniences include an LED status indicator and a built-in mount that lets you place a camera on a tripod.
