anyone that doesnt have internet and is in the us i cant see them complaining about activation as long as they have a 56k modem in their computer and have a way to get the netzero installer. hell you can call them up and get them to send you a cd you wouldnt be able to play hl2 tonight/tomarrow but you would be able to play it at some point.

Well I kinda think it sucks to have to activate the game online still because I can definitely remember not having the internet only a few years ago and how much it sucked. But I can also see why they did it and then you can always sign up for a free internet service for like 2 seconds to activate even though that seems likea lot of hassel.

Hey all,

I'm looking to buy hl2 tomorrow when it comes out, but i'm on vacation in florida (first time in the U.S) and i'm not sure where to buy it or which to buy.

I went to a "game place" today, not sure of the name.. and asked them if they have it.. they said they have a collectors edition which was $79 and a normal version which was $59, but they didn't have any other info about it.

I want to know:

A: where i can find more info about the different versions to buy retail.

B: Does the normal version available in cd and dvd?

C: Where is the cheapest place to buy it, sounds kinda stupid i know but there are alot of people on this board from the U.S that plan on buying it tomorrow as well and i would like to know where.

thanks guys.

From Ebgames.com:

Half-Life 2 Coll. Ed. - The definitive version of Half-Life 2 includes the game on DVD plus Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, a T-shirt and Prima book.

Half-Life 2: Half-Life 2 includes the game on CD plus Counter-Strike: Source.

B.) Regular is 5 CDs I believe.

C.) Lowest price Ive seen is $49.99 for Regular, prices will generally be about the same. Dont forsee any 'deals' happening really.

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
