Console games tend to score higher, for example GTA:SA got a 9.6 (MORE than Halo 2). Take a look here for example. I think its mainly because PC Games have so much scope to improve.

aight then. so i just installed 4.12 betas. ran adaware and crap cleaner (didn't find much) and now doing a defrag (she's pretty fragged up!)

May I suggest O&O Defrag and the COMPLETE/NAME option..O&O defrags even the pagefile, and system services, and what not...trust me, I own a 9600xt and on VST I am hitting an ave. of 49.97fps....drive makes a difference.

There are countless single and multiplayer mods being made, even a more advanced re-do of the original half-life that adds to it instead of just being a port like HL:Source is.

yes, but half life 2 has far better graphics which to me is nice, the physics on half life 2 is way better than halo 2 which means a lot to me.... I think ill have more fun on half-life 2 than halo 2...

DoDS is only available on steam, not through the retail purchase. this is likely because activision (i think?) published the original, so vivendi wont be publishing this version.

Console games and PC games are rated on different scales. I'm pretty sure most sites will even review separate consoles independently. The thing with Gamespot is this is the third time in the past few weeks where they've said a sequel was better than the original, yet rated it lower. I just don't understand that.

I really hope console and pc games have a different scale of rating over at gamespot, because I think GTA:SA got a higher score than half life 2, if the case is that the scales are not different, I won't care much abotu their reviews again.
