If you have completed it, can you help me with where to go now?

Yes! I've fiannly completly got rid of stuttering in game. there a second stutter just as the loaded game start and than ir rock solid and smooth.

here my autoexec.cfg

cl_forcepreload "1"

sv_forcepreload "1"

cl_smooth "0"

snd_mixahead "0.5"

mod_forcedata 1

snd_async_spew_blocking 1

Where is this autoexec.cfg file? Do I have to create it or something?

Is it actually the config.cfg file in the HL2 cfg folder? Because I do see some, not all, of the same options there...

RoFL King Mustard.

I think you go down...

You're in Novaprospekt yes?

I was already down. I have worked my way up and there was a supply crate up there that I destroyed with bullets, so I am guessing it's where I should be heading...

You need to play HL1 to know who the guy with the briefcase is. He's more than what you think.

Lets just say he's a businesssssss guy...

Well, theres certainly no puzzle there. Im sure you go down... You fought off a lot of Combines right? They are on top arent they? I think you change sides, the path is cut off somewhere so you have to go to the other side somehow.

create one.

Thanks for the reply.

Created it, and maybe it is my imagination and wishful thinking, but it does actually seem to have helped some.

S-s-stuttering is still there, but nowhere near as bad is it was. In fact the helicopter which always cause stuttering did not for the first time with these settings.

So it looks like this is indeed along the right track.

Thanks FatCat (Y) Definitely better. Off to try some of the other fixes.

Hey I am stuck ...

Trying to get into the combine hq to stop the white "supression" weapon ... but I can't figure out how to get into that place, the blue shields are up and barney and I are running around but can't figure out where to go.

Thanks

Follow the blue sensor lines. They usually help, theres one open pathway at the corner of the building. There, theres a blue sensor that activates some security turrets, destroy them and I htink its quite linear from there.

hmm cant afford any more games rite now

so ill have to find a synopsis for hl1

Did you get the Silver Package or Bronze Package? The Silver Package has Half Life Source - Which is a refurbished (Rubbish refurbishment) version of Half Life. Theres going to be a release of the original Half Life by some team. Watch out for that. I think www.planethalflife.com should have it. Opposing Forces and Blue Shift are optional, but give you a good perspective of what GMan really does. Maybe G stands for God?

 Yup, I'm reading about (and trying to fix) it now.

I'm trying the codec thing in the third link now.

--DK

It might be just a little to early to tell, but I left the autoexec.cfg file as is with FatCats changes, and I also tried the 3rd link provided by DK above with the codec trick (just follow the instructions on the page), and that combination SEEMS TO HAVE DONE THE TRICK!!!!!!

After disabling the MP3 audio codec as the thread istructs you to do, I just played a good 10 minutes with NO STUTTERING!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed this does work, but 10 minutes without a single stutter is WAY better than what I have experienced so far.

@nekrosoft - you might want to try that codex trick as well.

Thanks to everyone! Even if the problem is not fully fixed, it us obviously much better than it was!!!

G stands for government, i'm not saying he works for the government but that's what the G stands for in gman (in half-life and out)

Yea SaLiVa is right, that guy is GMan. Mystical man, I think the HL2 ending was quite good, bit short, I just hope there is a HL3.

584951152

of course there will be hl3, they already probably started working on it.

hl is a big money maker, they will keep making next parts until people gonna get sick of it

im stuck to..

Im am supossed to kill every snipers with my grenades .. i have thrown about 10 grenades in every open window but barney wont move?

RoFL! Poor you. There were only two snipers in Normal Mode. Just to check you count. Maybe you need to trigger it somehow (Throw the grenades to the windows). Or maybe Barney needs to get an MIT education like Gordon :p

I just started playing and am stuck here:

584951956

go to the other room, jump down, find a valve, turn the valve fill up the room, return to this room, swim down and into the whole behind you, swim down then break the wood to release the platforms (3) jump the platforms and be on your merry ass way :p

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
