with heapsize, ive always used 364000 even though i only have 512. and when i alt tab and check the size in task manager, it says its only using 140000....

also, i took 1052 screenshots, u can view them here by dling the rar. http://hl2images.filefeeder.com/

I am really not sure anymore what this blue gravity gun is. I kept getting stuck at this white screen in the "Our Benifactors" once I get into that little human pod thing. I left it for 20 minutes, it just stayed white. It would randomly flash the place I was stuck at for a second and go away again, the sounds were still active but nothing on the screen.

Anyway, I decided to just load the Last level (Chapt. 14) and such and such happens. I then use impulse 101 after after such and such leaves and I have the that orange gun but just with a blue beam.

I dont think this is it, it can't be. People who saying it was like the E3 Demo where they could lift up the bodies and so foruth, swing things around, etc. etc.

Is it? :(

Geforce FX's don't have enough horsepower to run the dx9 path for half-life 2, so half-life2 uses the dx8.1 path instead.

You may be able to force it to use dx9, but expect a performance hit.

Haha, I'm playing through the coast again. Now I'm sort of used to the environments I can really make use of physics. I love the little shacks they've got because you can approach them from any angle, at any pace, or even not at all. It's a violent bliss. :)

This is weird.

I couldn't get HL2 to run, so I tried installing it succesfully on windows 2000. It's works great using the same drivers that are on the ATI now. So I made a ghost copy of it just incase.

I then used a ghost copy of XPSP2 that previously failed to run HL2, and stripped out all the stuff I had installed. Installed the omega drivers, got rid of them and now use the same drivers that are on the ATi now. Got rid of my virus scanners, and dot net, AND IT WORKS.

Weird, but now if I reinstall the drivers it fails. so I've gone back to the ghost copy that works, reinstalled all my programs, virus scanner etc, and it's working fine.

Now, If i ever need to reinstall the video drivers, I'm going to be shafted. I've no idea what's so special about these drivers and setup I'm using now. I can't recreate it without it failing.

anyway, I'm going back to trap town.

Stuck again

You need to get up in that window where the wire is coming from to turn off the power switch. Then, you can climb up that lader near the dead guy on the fence.

I forgot how I got up in the window though.. someone can help you on that though im sure.

Good luck! :D

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
