I didn't think there still existed people who haven't played/beaten half-life 1 yet.

I haven't beaten it, only because I find the game boring as hell. I also don't like Counter-Strike, if that means anything.

Just beaten it, I presume all will be explained in the third game. All in all, Im still definately impressed by the game, but I think Ill cheat and try and get that blue grav gun from the start ;)

im at the portal. how do i destroy the portal the game ends before i can destroy it. what do i do

584955863

Ignore the ships as much as you can, stand to the left of the portal, suck a light ball, then fire it at the portal to destroy the spinning wall.

You need to do it quite quickly.

Oh, and um... spoilers.

Here is a good page that sums up the current answers from Valve and some possible solutions - link

well if the vampire game has the problem it's a deep engine problem and valve's responsable for fixing it if they want to keep selling the source engine

Lingwo thanks for that information!

And my Appoligies to FudgeMonkey if I messed some stuff up for you :)

584956263

no worries fella. It's not your fault i don't have the game yet i just wanted to make sure no one else had the same experience as me as the whole PC games forum is full of HL2 posts and i understand how much work this must be causing the mods. I just don't want to have to leave Neowin alone until I have the game, although i think i spy another thread that's a contender :(

Whenever I attempt to change a map in HL2 thru the console, I get

"Disconnected from Server" message.

Im not even in a MP, wtf?

Command I use:

map <map name>

Any ideas on what 2 do? I really wanna try out that blue Physics Gun.

584956239

Yeah, it disconnects you from the local server and reconnects you in the new map. Just use the commands a few posts up and youll get the gun, believe me, it works.

    • Does anyone here know if these updates are integrated into the UUP dump isos?

It has been completely rewritten using Tauri 2, Vue 3, TypeScript, and Rust, while still relying on the powerful Aria2 download engine for high-speed multi-protocol transfers. The app supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, BitTorrent, ED2K and magnet links, offering advanced features like multi-connection acceleration, task scheduling, bandwidth control, and batch download management. With a significantly reduced install size (around 20MB), it focuses on being lightweight, fast, and resource-efficient compared to traditional Electron-based download tools. Designed for Windows, macOS, and Linux, Motrix Next delivers a clean, modern UI inspired by Material Design 3 principles, with smooth animations and a minimal workflow. • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
