[DEFINITIVE] Half-Life 2 Thread

i heard a theory that G-MAN is Gordon from the future, you get it, Gordon-MAN there faces also look pretty simmilar?? apparently he has come back in time, for what reason i dont know. But at the end of half life 2 when the gman is talkinga bout choice and destiny all of that it seems to fit in.

G-Man is Freeman's father!

That would be interesting:huh:: And it makes more sense then the G-Man being Gordon from the future:laugh::

I just started getting into Half Life & Half Life 2, but from what I've read so far, maybe Valve decided to create a character that would allow them to keep making more games. Maybe at the time they created the G-Man, they didn't know what he would turn out to be. Maybe they still don't... this would leave the door open for a lot of possibilities. Just my two cents;))

hi guys..

I noticed that the cheat list... that you can get off the net... like on the IGN site

HL2 cheat list

shows a lot of weapons that supposedly can be spawn... but I tried then all and I'd say that 2/3 of those cheat don't work or show an error message... the give alyxgun works... but you get a box that shoots instead of a gun...lol

I know some people talked that the E3 phys gun that shoots a blue beam an can weld objects togheter should be included in the SDK

but what about the other weapons missing from the E3 presentation and the leaked BETA???

Like those two:

ociw_full.jpg

and

taucannon.jpg

anyone know if they will be activated some time over... or included in the SDK??

The game play of this game kicks ass. i am having a very difficult time with the Steam business. Why does it constantly want to verify my Half Life files, and why does it take 15 minutes. (3 Meg cable modem line, more than enough power in the system)

Can wait for the no stutter patch ...

As for the weapons, the one pic'ed on the bottom looks liek the electrogun from the dune buggy ...

Where does one find the blue gravity gun?

Ok - for the first time in the game, I'm stuck.

[spoiler!!!!]

I'm at the top of the citadel, breen is in the large ball thingy and the portal has opened, I went all the way up to the top and there's the 2 gunships and alyx says "Oh no he's getting away!" , and than I start trying to shoot down the gunships as I don't see anything else for me to do, and I get the "Assignment terminated , Reason: Failure to complete time-critical sequence" etc, what do I have to do? I'd appreciate help ASAP.

Thanks :).

There are quite a few there that aren't even mentioned in prima's strategy guide. It freaked me out most when I saw him on the security camera in Nova Prospekt, he straightened his tie and walker out

That part of HL2 reminded me of the scariest level in a video game EVER, shalebridge cradle in thief III

Shoot the core. It should be fairly clear what that is...

Er no.. that was just a cool Abyss like water tendril thing they used as an example of what they could do in a Tech Demo!

I guess they didn't include that because it was too similar to the green tentacles from the first game.

So that is who it was. I saw him yesterday in a remote location. I just happened to be looking around. I was going to go back there, but I lost the save.

It was on a train map where you fight those soldiers with the blue eyes for the first time. If you keep going all the way straight you'll run into some trains blocking the path. If you just happen to peek through the cracks you'll see him walking away towards a tunnel.
