that was way back in the e3 demos and movies and leak, that is no longer the case. Objects only now, unless there is a mat_ option like with the cs:s body clipping...

Um, UK has the land of England...ie, English ;)

I'm sure you can import it into the states, I haven't looked but www.play.com might be able to import it.

i saw him walking inbetween trains, before the start of the highway 17 level (in the train station, outside). if you squat to look what's behind some trains in an area where you can't get to, he just pops out and walks, then he's gone. I used fraps & the noclip cheat to capture the movie, but i'm at work right now.

Be sure to show us! I beat the game today, I want Half-Life 3 NOW! I want to know who the G-Man is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My HalfLife 2 works fairly well on my mid-range machine (AMD 1800+, 512 2100 ddr, Radeon 8500le) but I was wondering if there were any tweaks that would make it run better. I remember when Doom 3 came out, there were tweaks to the .ini file that made the game run smoother. Is ther any such thing for HL2?

hm, eh?  not my fault.  she just spawned on her own at a load scene.

and no she doesn't act or talk, she just followed me until the gates closed on her.

Meh. I was just thinking of the comedic value of two Alyxs interacting with each other

How can people be that stupid?

It's one getting a key for a game that you never have to go online with. For example, something like single player MoH:AA.

But for halflife 2, that's just retarded. Of course you're going to get caught if it needs to authenticate. Buuughh!

gordon freeman dont talk, becouse their want to give the sensation that everybody who is playing the game, is in fact gordon freeman, its also the reason to he dont appear in the game...

that's what i heard :p

i also believe that gman is the top personality of the game, i just wish he appear more often in the game, and talk to us, given more clues for who he was eheh

Half Life 3 pleaaassseeeee

Please... for the last time g-man = government man. Read the Half-Life manual if you want to know who he is. Although theres obviously SOMETHING more to him, that doesnt mean g-man means gordon-FREE-man... they don't look anything alike really.

Well anyway, I was looking through the steam forums and I found this (trying to refrain from making yet another new topic on HL2, but I'm not sure if this deserves one). These are all things quotes by the vortigaunts (the things that shoot green electricity) that could be hints to stuff in HL3, or just fill in some plot holes, and I'm working on reading through them to find any hidden meanings of some. I'll only put some of the ones I think are important here:

"We live to serve."

"There is no distance between us. No false veil of time or space may intervene."

"We see you still in Black Mesa. Clearly we see you in Nihilanth's chamber."

"We bare witness to the bright eternity of the Nihilanth's demise. You leap, you fall, we see you flash beyond the barriers."

"For a brief time you joined with us. You are one. Between the worlds."

"We cannot forget those whose cords you cut. Forgiveness is not ours to bestow."

"Unity of purpose, the shattering of common shackles, a single road we tread."

"While our own lay scattered at your feet, you severed the vortal cord that bound the Nihilanth to life, and to us."

"The sharp spur of hope has not dulled to this day. For once the lesser master lay defeated, we knew the greater must also fall in time."

"Your bright face obscures your darker mask."

"Something secret steers us both. We shall not name it."

"We are a tapestry woven of vortessence. It is the same for you if only you would see it."

"How many are there in you? Whose hopes and dreams do you encompass?"

"Could you but see the eyes inside your own, the minds in your mind, you would see how much we share."

"We are you, Freeman, and you are us."

"Our finest poet describes it thus: Gallum galla gilla ma."

"We have survived worse across the ages."

Well, you can read the post here for all the quotes and comments on it.

add -heapsize 256000 to your launch options. If you have a gig of ram add 512000, you want the number to be half your ram. Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers. I heard that you can add -cl_smooth 0 to you launch options to.

    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
    • I can answer about the Linux bit. I only used AMD GPUs. I currently have a 9060XT (8GB) that fits my needs, I'm not a gamer, so I don't need that much GDDR. But lately, NVIDIA has grown a lot in the recent years. Oh, the horrors of NVIDIA drivers not working. But they have been getting better. I know a lot of members onm here that are running cachyOS and other distros, and are fine with a 4090/5090 variants. Really, though, I would stick with AMD variants.
    • Everything they say you can already do yourself on the registry by changing some things.
