[DEFINITIVE] Half-Life 2 Thread

Well I finished HF2 last night, and now I'm trying to figure out how to engaged MP function. I downloaded the files needed from halflifefiles and installed them, but it's not working.. Any idea's anybody ??

It doesnt, his talking about a multiplayer Mod that is currently in alpha / early beta stages (not from valve)

I didn't think it was from Valve. I just hadn't heard of any modders releasing anything yet.

Thats an interesting site. I just went through Half Life and Half Life 2 blindfolded. But I rather enjoy playing the game blindfolded :)

I just purchased it 2 days ago from BestBuy and when the aux power meter get low on resources it turns red too. I have a legitimate steam registerd version. :ninja:

been playing it for a week and i have to say its probably the most complete FPS gaming experiences since hl. the puzzles, the vehicles and the settings? its just from beginning to end, top to bottom a rewarding experience. i havent gotten to the end, i'm in no rush, but it really doesnt matter i just look forward to what i will deal with next.

when it's low it's red, yes.

the warez version has the full power as red all the time.

I'm thinking of buying the game but I don't wanna spend 50? for a game that won't run very well on my computer. What do you guys think, will it run smoothly or freeze every time there's a little more happening in the game?

My computer: Amd Athlon XP 2200+ (1,8GHz), 512 ddram, Geforce 4 MX 440. I'm not getting a new computer soon but I was just wondering if I can play HL2 with this piece o' crap.

Should work just fine. Maybe on Medium setting, but theres very little difference quality other than detail on models faces, (More shadows) and beautiful water. I think DX8.1, I could be wrong...

So definitely not a newer version of DirectX ?

Is it possible to install HL2 that your friend has already once installed on his computer and check how it works? I mean that I wouldn't have to buy the game at first to find out that it doesn't work as beautifully as I was hoping. I'm not sure if this is piratism, I kinda think it's not..? I just don't want to spend an extra 50? because my budget is way too minimal for it if it's complete waste of my money.

the game will run on the 440. My mate at work has been playing it on his all weekend. Says it scales nice and smooth.

although he is suffering from a bit of stutter on heavy fights. bug maybe?

I am stuck in half life 2, I have looked around at a couple of strategy guides and it says that you have to climb both of the ladders to get up, but i have a problem i don't have a second ladder. Please help.

Go around to the right from where youre standing. There will be some rocks and some headcrabs if I remember correctly. Just jump around, dont fall :)

Go up the first ladder and look to the right. There will be 2 supply crates on a ledge. Jump over there.

Climb up the first ladder and head to the right. There should be a ledge that you jump on that takes you around to a ladder.
