This game was great when it came out... beat it in a week... now its collecting dust on my shelf.. Funny... they work on a game for probably over 5 years and you beat it in about 7 days... Now I play a bigger and better game. (WoW) GJ BLizzard. You made me forget about all other games ... :alien:

You used much more time than many people. The first ones was finished after 8-10 hours...

Since were talking about HL2 i was wondering if i could make my system run the game better. I just bought my new pc (in parts) and got HL2 a few days ago and been playing it. I have found that i can run the game with medium to high settings and on 1024 by 768. My new specs are:

AMD Athlon 2500XP

512MB of DDR400 Corsair Value Ram

Geforce 6600GT (AGP)

A7N8X-E Deluxe Asus mobo

Thermaltake 420W PSU

Seagate SATA 120G HDD

(i will update my sig later)

So i am wondering what is my current possible bottelneck? I want to run the game at even higher settings and just wondering what is holding me up for now. Also when i save agame on HL2 it jolts a bit and takes like 10 seconds from when i click "save" to come to that "save menu" what could be causing thta? or is it normal.

Your CPU is probably the bottleneck. I would go with an AMD Athlon 64 but you would need to upgrade your mobo and possibly you graphics card if you get an nForce 4 board. I thinks the source engine is very cpu intensive but I could be wrong.

I believe it is because that's what processes the physics engine. :p

Nope. Everything he have looks fine. But more RAM would help alot though.

How can I change the difficulty level mid way through the game? I'm finding it too easy.

There is an option in settings/options where you can set the difficulty

Like you know where you set the video potions...keyboard..in there somewhere.

Valve are ready to unleash another patch for their shooter this Thursday

Steam might not be everyone's favourite web destination but this week the site will be taking more hits than the foetus-headed final boss in R-Type.

For Valve have pencilled in this Thursday to release the next update for their masterly blaster, Half-Life 2.

Part of the package to be crowbarred into your already groaning PC will be a new level known as Steam Lab, three new weapons and a multiplayer map called The Lost Coast.

A visual tart-up will also be included under the splendidly nerdy title of High Dynamic Range Lighting, along with the best entries from Valve's 'Design a HL2 Multiplayer Level' competition.

And while you're downloading the StunStick, the Slam and the crowbar, you can also keep an eye open for the modder's delight, also known as the source code for Half-Life 2 Deathmatch.

I have one peeve with HL2. That is, when you're driving the boat your hands aren't on the handle bars. Did Valve overlook this detail? It would be nice to see a pair of hands actually controlling the boat. Anyone know of a mod that rectifies this annoyance?

What are your pc specs? My friend has realy crappy graphics on that test since he is using a geforce 5200 with directx8 so the textures are like really crap and the man is white (blank)

So, how the heck do I try out this new level with the high-range dymanic lighting or whatever?

    • We do it all the time on our IT Service desk mailbox to add a reference, in the subject line, once it's been logged and then it's filed into the appropriate sub-folder. Other companies probably do the same thing.
    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
