[DEFINITIVE] Half-Life 2 Thread

Recommended Posts

There were a lot of things that were deleted because they didn't work or weren't up to par.

I'm disappointed they took the OICW (the gun in that picture) out more than the monster. lol

I'm not the only one then? :(

For everyone else: http://www.hkpro.com/oicw.htm

It's so funny to see people using guns that big for some reason..looks like it would've been a nice addition to the game what happened to it?

^ Could you explain to us exactly what these patches do?

go click it and see... ;)

but just a questiion, will I need to back up my files? If I wanted to play the original again?

I played for 10 minutes of the Substance modification and all I could tell is that the framerate dies and there are more people with random fights outside windows. Does it get better because if not, I am removing it lol

Hey, a while back someone posted the background image from the leaked Half-Life 2 beta (no, I'm not asking for the beta)... he also posted a few oher ones similar to it. The image I'm talking about has that green Steam-colored background and has the citiadel on it... anyone have it, or know where I can get it? Thanks :)

Hello all, I really want to play HL2, and CS:S, but I have a crappy machine, do you think it will be worth it playing on my current comp?

P4 1.6Ghz  (un OC'able thanks to intel mobo)

256 RAM

32 meg GeForce2 on Dx9

your processor is fine.. it's just you need some upgrades on Ram and Vidcard I don't think 32 MB will cut HL2

btw, does anyone know where the pics go? I took some pics and I can't seem to find them.. This may have been asked before but I forgot.. thanks

The reason I say so is that my comp technically meets min. requirements, but at the very minimum, I'm wondering, with no upgrading, if it will be worth it to play (No money)

download the demo if you want to test HL2, before you buy.

Ok I just bought my copy of HL2. But when I got it home I checked out the box and noticed that the anti tamper sticker at the bottom of the box has been cut! :( What should I do? I am now not sure if someone at the shop where I bought the game may have compromised the serial I have.

you should've checked.. or at least the people at the counters should've checked while they scanned it. Try to return it but do not trust to hope

I think I'll first try to register it with Steam - if it's been compromised though. I'm going to contact the local distributors and raise hell about this.

    • Hello, Version 19 of ESET's consumer offerings are 64-bit only. The 32-bit installers are for Version 18, which were announced in this Neowin article. In addition to ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Internet Security, ESET Smart Security Premium, and ESET Security Ultimate, both ESET Safe Server and ESET Small Business Security v19.1.14.0 have been released as well. • I can name 10x that on why not to switch.... It's funny outlook/office are going towards web app wrappers, and then MS is now preaching native apps again.... ugh can we just pick a lane and stay in it
    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
