where dose everyone get those cool msn messenegr status icons from??

585544096[/snapback]

They usually make them, tends to be the way, but sometimes you'll find they liked something similar and recreate it to use in msn.

everyone is using those same ones though so i figured they got them from somewhere..

please im not new to playing with graphics etc :p its just because everyone was using the same ones that wave 11 type look i was wondering if they were available.. quicker to download those then to make them again in photoshop

to be more specific the ones trojan is using in his mockup, where to get those?

btw as for msn royal skin i have already been making one for about 2 weeks which stefanka has given me permission for..

go to the addy below to see a preview

im updating it right now for 604 hopefully done tomorrow night

Edited by Fizical

cant edit my post.. sorry..

anyway my royal inspirat skin is just about finished.. hopefully done by tomorrow night. time for me to go to bed now, work tomorrow :(

i'll post screens when the contact list is totally done tomorrow and a couple fixes to the contact window. and maybe release the next day.

cheers :)

ok I updated the Contact list (fixed buttons updated the song announce and so on)

and I added a conversation window mx2 was a good sport

there will be one more screen shot after this before I start making the actual theme (I may redo the icons I'm not sure)

Nice design but sloppy conversation with Mx2. You blatantly paid him or made him say that as he aint that nice har har

Watch out for png 1090,1083 and 1084 when it comes to the main window Rickie, the resizing is really tricky when you try and do those curves. Also with 1084 it crosses the whole window so you may want to go for a) tranparent edges or b) include the curve into 1084.

you're well on your way tho (Y)

When it comes to modifying the chat window dont forget to resize 804 in the ui files, its set at height=21.

wizzer, Xantheus and PsykX, I released an early version a few pages back.. but the skins are on hold till we see msn 7 final... then you'll see them all. I just didnt see the point in remaking them everytime a build came out.

thanks trojan.. i'll need to ask for permission, im thinking i'll still work on your skin as well just to see what i can come up with.. so far been finishing my royal with RDD

but rickie is doing a pretty good job on his so i might not step into that ring :)

i really need to stop leaving so much time between my posts so i can edit... anyway..

here is a screenshot of what i've got so far (conversation window is finished except for 2 icons) now with this contact list.. i ahvent change any icons or the clours in the top section yet and excuse the headphones.. i was just playing with colour.. so dont worry that top section will be fixed up...

anyway between the top section and the contact list and around the entire contact list is a 1px line.. i have removed this in the past i believe but not i cant find it..

second there is the grey bit on the left side.. next to the display pictures.. where is that to remove? i've never see it b4 in skinning msn.

cheers

EDIT: obviously the scroll bars will be skinned.. there will be 2 editions if i get permission, with the msn icons as seen in trojans mock up and this one in screen shot.

I see you tried to curve the bottom section ;) fun isnt it.

I just tried out two methods, no luck >_< I'll try again, but Im not sure it can be done (not well anyways).

mohan_168, alot of this stuff can be done in practice, anything ive shown is in working condition. Can't wait to see how Fizical goes (Y)

The icons I used in my third mockup are over at Aero-Soft. (Link)

Thanks for reminding me, actually. I forgot to mention that those PNGs weren't mine, so there might be some issues with asking the author.

Sorry!

hey buddy love your design, i can get you the ok from the author if you want ;)

i find it strange that it doesnt work as the conversation window allows for this.. this could be a problem in making it apprear nice.. will see what can be dug up maybe it can be done.. not looking positive so far.. msn messenger needs a little more flexibility... its pretty damn good atm but some more would be great.

but now need to update this for the new version of MSN Messenger that was just released.

Im posting up a quick beta version of this skin for the 632 build, the original concept was by GHL (for gmessenger/codename nexus) and there will be no final release till I can get his permission.

632.PNG

There is a word of warning though, a patch was tried and people couldnt get it to work 100% of the time, so the file is a heavily rar'ed gig. At about 5mb its nothing to scoff at if you are 56k, so without further delay.

there is still work to do, but some might want to give it a go... and people hate waiting (since the other skins were such a teaser so long, ill give you the preview)

The Preview Release

There will be a proper patch next time, I promise.

thanks trojan.. i'll need to ask for permission, im thinking i'll still work on your skin as well just to see what i can come up with.. so far been finishing my royal with RDD

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with ad blockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Samsung Browser'. It has very little bloat and is a nice-looking web browser with an inbuilt 'Ad blocker'. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. This browser can also install Chrome extensions. I have a system wide Ad blocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the web browser, but over the whole system. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt ad blocker because of that.
