Your poor guildies  :p  I spent hundreds of gold trying many, many warlock builds after I hit 60, only to find that the fundamental problem with warlocks is that they are the all-around craptastic class, although they have some of the coolest-sounding (but weak) abilities.

lol poor guildies?! i know :p i just got the warlock epic mount before i quit and still owe the guild leader 150g, i dont think hes mad though

I quit abou 2 months ago. It's nice ot have my life back and not be addicted o a game of grinding. I find it rediculous at what you have to go through to get something in an MMORPG. I probobl won't play another. I waited 3 years for this game and it wasn't all it's cracked up to be.

Oh well. Hope HL3 comes out soon :)

im playing the 10 day trial and am on day 2, I love the game but im not fond of the viewing angle, i messed around with some settings but got nothing desireable. It seems too over head and I would rather have a better view of teh horizon, my friend loaned me the cds so i didnt get to look in the manual

You can praticaly change the view to whatever position you want. Just hit the left mouse button and roll the mouse for turning the camera around your character, or hit the right mouse button and roll the mouse for changing the way you char is pointing. Use the roll button on your mouse to zoom in, and zoom out.

I dont know if it was this that your were asking, if not, sorry for low explaining :p

Asta

now if someone would just post a mirror for the file. i can never download from Blizzard...just sits at 0%

Just an FYI I suppose. A friend of mine got me a 60 day play card. I reinstalled the game, installed the patch (which in total literally took an hour ugh) logged in. Disconnected 6 times already number one. System message says certain realms are exp. heavy lag issues etc etc, my god Blizzard you still can't fix this crap?!

But my big problem (other than not being able to play for more than 15 seconds right now) is most of my inventory is now red question marks. Uhm, my mount is gone (a red question mark I suppose) and I haven't even checked my bank or mail yet. If I have to get a new mount, forget it.

Yeah, I know how you feel. It pains me that my old character was a lock, and I noticed in the 1.6 patch notes they fixed a problem with healthstones I had complained about since November (almost eight months ago, and people complained about it in beta, too).

Like the Blizzard developers keep saying, it's a new game with very complicated issues.  Give them some time...right?  But yeah, I know how you feel.  I was a warlock, and I noticed in the 1.6 patch notes they fixed a problem with healthstones I had complained about since November (almost eight months ago, and people complained about it in beta, too).

I gave them 6 months, which is more than enough time imo. And in the 2+ months since I last played I figured they would have fixed most server lag issues but apparently not.

It is patch day. There are always unforseen problems with a patch. Would you just relax and try tomorrow. People like you, with no understanding, are the ones the game really can do without to begin with.

586204178[/snapback]

No understanding? I understand just fine. I know how hard it is to run a MMORPG, especially one that is extremely popular like WoW is. I'm not insensitive to that fact. However, as I've said many times in the past, Blizzard has been a huge let down to me since they've released WoW. Constant server issues either with lag or otherwise (and I'm not just talking patch days here) are just the first thing that comes to mind.

I'm giving the game another chance, and I know today just happened to be patch day. Fine, but I better not be missing my mount or most of my inventory. That'll be an instant uninstall in my book, sorry if you think the game could do without me if I feel that way.

I'll jump in again with LOC on this (since I already have). Playing GW on patch day (or all the other MMOs in the world) is pretty easy...In GW, you log out, you log in, it's over. It works. No visible download, no fuss. Many other companies have gotten it right without forcing you to wait hours to days to play what you are paying for perpetually.

Blizzard made a stunningly brilliant, fun, wonderful game, but they are going to ruin it if they don't shape up to at least the technical level of every other MMO.

The game can do without me, too. Understanding? The only thing I don't understand is why Blizzard can't do what everone else does without a hitch.

I don't mean to make a personal attack, since I have already been you once--blindly making excuses for a company that didn't care a whit about me as long as I dutifully paid my bill. It's just a game...they don't care who you are, so why would you care to defend them? If you are satisfied with the patch problems, good on you. Your bad-service tolerance threshold is higher than mine.

I Agree with pxleyes.. At least they are trying to add stuff in the game.. Maybe you guys are all jealous that guild wars will not have anything added until expansion??? muahahahah Oh maybe its the 13.00 dollars a month.. $hit you can find 13.00 a month in change in the streets. is it that your allowance is only 5 dollars a week? Waa waaaa waaaa I have to pay 13-15 dollars a month... waaaaaaa How about taking a break from mcdonalds for 2 nights a month to pay for it?

I hear people |3itch and moan about lag...lol I rarely have any lag except for Iron Forge for about 15 seconds.. then its gone.. I guess it depends on the comp you got.. You can have the best comp in the world and still get lag due to all the crap you got running in the background.. I love it when you hear.. "i got too much lag this game sucks" Then come to find out they have aol running, teamspeak running, mp3 player running and just happend to have Norton doin a virus check at the same time..ahahaha morons...

WoW you need to sit back and actually look at all the work and detail they put into it. Soon they will release the expansion and it will be fun to do all new quests (yes i actually like the game enough to grind in it) You guys talk about an instance run is up to 5 hours??? lol what in the hell are you doin? Molten Core? Most instance runs can be between 2-3 hours .. Maybe you shouldnt of been that Paladin or Hunter huh??? lol If you think about it.. most games are pretty much the same... you play until you beat it or get all your gear... and then you stop playing it and |3itch and moan about how you were so let down and it was sooo bad ... blah blah blah... At least with how it kept you happy for a few months... and those who really appreciate the game for what it is are still around..

I play Battlefield 2 , Doom 3 exp, and WoW in between.. So let me hear it fellas... |3itch about what I just said... Cry about how your right and im wrong so we can keep this thread alive... hahahhaha .. bring it.

Quoted for emphasis.

Don't make yourself look uninformed and uneducated; give Guild Wars a try. You may find it quite refreshing. They're adding two entirely new areas to the game for free this summer, and they've added PvP rewards. Patches (which come almost weekly) always have new quests, too.

And I'm still paying nothing for it...not that it matters. I'm making middle-class income with no kids or serious bills. It's not the money that's an issue; it's the gameplay. And Blizzard won't give you the expansion for free--they've already said so in press releases.

Also, you are rude.

Wow. I've rarely ever had a problem. I preordered this game and had it the day it came out and all i get is the occasional disconnect and the occasional lag. (upgrading to 1GB greatly helps with the lag) Also, 1.6 seems to be working fine for me.

I only hear about a few bugs that 1.6 caused, and they already hotfixed one of them - i'm sure the others are on the way.

I don't know how people are having all these issues.

Everquest 2. That's all I'll say to your comments.

And to update my earlier problems, I fixed it myself. Apparently my network card was configured completely wrong for the game! Imagine that one. But if anyone here either before or after the new patch is getting the "Unknown Entity" crap, or red question marks for inventory items etc like I was, go to your network cards properties, advanced dialog, and disable Checksum Offset. Magically WoW works fine now (other than the disconnects due to server lag and Ironforge's obvious eternal lag)

Hey the reason I started playing MMO's in the first place was because I was getting totally burnt out on FPS's. I mean seriously, there's only so much CS and SOF2 one can play before you go mad. Now I play both genres, more FPS than MMO but I love them both. Only genre I hate still to this day is RTS. Icky. Poo. :p

EQ2 is a pile of crap with no pvp. There's a reason why it doesn't have two million subscribers and WoW does. As for people who have problems with lag? Play a low population server. There are plenty of servers that didn't experience any kind of slow down while others with high populations were extremely bogged down. The game itself is straining the technology limits, and given this fact Blizzard has conducted themselves quite well. There is currently only two other games out on the market that even come close to the popularity: Lineage 1 and 2. Guildwars, the game which I played in beta and purchased, is nothing like WoW. It has nice but very limited graphics, no character building, limited customization, no jumping, horrible pathing issues, no running, uninspired storyline, and boring PVP. Moreover, it's not even an MMOG. It's not a persistant world, and you can't interact with more than 8 or so players at a given time. Diablo 3 anyone?

Ooooooo But did you see Age of Empires 3 .... RTS might be back when thats released. Screen shots looks sweet man...

AOE and C&C with the Yuri exp are the only 2 RTS I really got into... Warcraft 3 and Rise of Nations were close behind...

yeah, thats why i played WoW but the 1.6 patch bugs are really annoying...sheep someone 2x (sheep+sheep BEFORE it breaks) = they can control it.

along with summoning inside instances *sometimes* works and *sometimes* doesnt... *sarcasm* oh, and the gold dupe is great */sarcasm*

AMEN! Put 2 million people in guildwars and see if there is lag. Under the circumstances, Blizzard is rockin.

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Resident Evil, Mafia, Like a Dragon, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep.
