This game is pretty addictive, I was pretty ticked at first after installing 5 discs worth to be presented with downloading a 500mb patch, but once you get started its kinda hard to walk away. Actually im going back in for another crack at this quest

I seem to be having a problem installing the game on my pc. Disc 1 installs fine, however, when i insert disc 2 i will eventually get an error saying 'cannot install tome 2.mpq because of error 102'. I have had a look through the tech support forums but found nothing that helps, has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to sort it?

I had that issue when the drive in my MacBook Pro was defective. It can be either the CD's or the drive.

So the 300G I was saving up for mount, I said screw it and threw it all into Armorsmithing. At 260 right now, no skills I learn give me orange or yellow only green, need to get to 275 to get orange skills again, and I have one skill ATM that is yellow. Keep doing that one till 275 if it lasts taht wrong? I heard about quest in Gadget should I go there and do them, since I think those plans are avaible at 260?

lol thats nothing a buddy is in beta and has a staff from a quest that better than the aq40-bwl gear its crazy

Nice Character Transfer System, Blizzard

wowtransfer.png

For the last 8 days, I have been valiantly struggling to help a friend transfer his World of Warcraft character from Shadowfist to Kor'gall on the European servers.

You see, he doesn't have a credit card. So I was more than happy to step up to the plate and put it on mine. I am a millionaire video games blogger, after all.

When the first step was completed, I was told there was approximately a 12 hour queue to transfer his character. Okay, no problem. 12 hours later the estimated wait time was the same. 36 hours later? It shot up to two days. By the time Monday came around, we started figuring out that there was something much more substantially wrong than a long queue.

We checked the forums. Hundred of people were complaining, yet Blizzard didn't deign to answer a single question. When a blue Blizzard rep did show up, he merely cut and pasted a static response that the system was working as intended, and that these were flukes that should be resolved by calling the billing department. Not a single person who called could resolve the issue with a CSR: they suggest canceling the transfer and starting over again. Those who did had no more luck getting their characters transferred. We decided to wait it out.

Finally, yesterday, my friend was told that his character was ready to be transfered. All he needed to do was log in, confirm his credit card details and click transfer. I did this on his behalf: I got an incomprehensible error message. For the next twelve hours, I logged in once per hour, repeating this step. At no time was the character transfer finalized.

But here's the kicker: this morning I check the forums again, and see a message from a user who got a more or less firm statement from Blizzard over the phone that they know there's a serious issue with their character transfer and not to keep on trying to finalize the transfer, as it would always fail but would charge your account 20 euros for each failed attempt.

My heart stopped. I checked my online credit card statement: no charges. I went back to the forums and it turns out that it doesn't appear to happen to those doing the transfer with credit cards, but only guys with debit cards. Dozens of people complain that their entire accounts have been drained by this. They are completely broke; their banks have frozen their accounts.

So what we have here is an error on Blizzard's part that has completely drained the bank accounts of some of their customers. Paid character transfer hasn't worked for the last 8 days, but it was only today Blizzard pulled the page. At no point has Blizzard issued a statement, an ETA or even admitted on their forums that there is an issue. Hearsay is the only word that comforts those people who have been bankrupt trying to transfer their fruity little gnomes.

How can a company be so close-lipped with their customers? What level of callous contempt for the ignorant monkeys who greedily lap up Blizzard's wares can possibly explain such rank incompetence and lack of consideration? What a disgrace.

so whats your point lol they have close to 8 million people and 1 - 2 million of them people are jumping servers the system is bound to go down big freaking deal its down for 8 days   . crap happens sounds like the guy in the post linked is ****ed about nothing his CC was charged but he got the cash back no big deal . also according to blizz own rules there breaking the tos becuase the guy allowed someone else to log in to his account ( game or website )

anyways,

Not sure if this was posted, but it has been confirmed by a blue post that flying mounts will be 5k gold. While yes, you will get more money in the expansion, that just blows my mind!

5k gold? And Here I thought that the one time I had 1.4k gold I was richy rich!

All I know is will be preordering my copy from Newegg very soon, and I can't wait to get my hands on it!!!

haha nice sword.

In BC, they're increasing the stam on a lot of items (warriors can expect close to 10k unbuffed no vitality), and it's pretty clear they're using a different formula to calculate new items since they're significantly better than you'd expect.

I cant begin to imagine what the lvl 70 raiding epics are going to look like.

    • Microsoft announces the return of Xbox exclusives with Gears of War and Clockwork Revolution by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft had plenty of announcements to make today at the Xbox Games Showcase celebrating 25 years of the gaming brand. Now, under the leadership of the new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, Xbox games are going back to their original release methods. She appeared in the livestream itself to announce the return of Xbox console exclusives. This means two major upcoming games from first-party studios won't be coming to PlayStation or Nintendo consoles: Gears of War: E-Day from The Coalition and Clockwork Revolution from InExile. Both titles will only be coming out on Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PCs, ditching any plans they had for PlayStation. "These are not timed exclusives," confirmed Microsoft. "We’re committed to investing in and growing XBOX both on console and beyond." The company confirmed that any already announced Xbox titles for PlayStation, under previous leadership, will continue to arrive for the rival platform. This means games like the new Halo remake, Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and State of Decay 3 will still be available on PlayStation, either at launch or later. It sounds like any new projects announced by the company will avoid other consoles in the same way. Microsoft first opened the floodgates by bringing titles like Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush, and Pentiment to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles back in 2024. Since then, almost every new game release from Xbox Game Studios has arrived for rival consoles alongside Xbox and PC. This decision follows Sony's plans to ditch its own multiplatform releases too. Outside of multiplatform live service titles, the PlayStation maker is even abandoning its PC porting endeavors that started years ago.
    • I'm missing the beginning part of this equation... but for the sake of the convo, you don't get to take a $250(?) set of normally priced RAM, jack it up to over $500/600/800 just because of a market shift, then lower it back down to more than what it was originally and call that a "sale". Not the author of this post... the manufacturer/seller.

    • no thanks is overpriced and its not the fastest ram neither.
    • It is, but it also has a bad performance reputation even on high-end gaming PCs. Some people say it's the engine's fault, others say it's the games developers' fault, who knows... At the end of the day, for the average gamer, the take is this: PC game with Unreal Engine 5? Be affraid and cross your fingers, it's a 50/50 chance.
