thats funny.... i thought the exact opposite - about silvermoon at least. So many NPC's walking around actually doing something. Even has a blood elf "bum" sleeping ont he ground outside an inn in Murder Row. Made the place feel more alive than the other cities imo.

NPCs don't really make it feel alive IMHO. Dunnoe about the servers you play on, but mine is rather deserted, and everytime I make a trip back to the city I see at most 4 or 5 people running about. Orgrimmar on the other hand has nearly always at least that amount of people in front of the bank.

Quit WoW finally about a week ago, I had tried so many times before and just before TBC but it pulled me back in. Played for about 15 months and played just about every class to 30 atleast. My brother is still playing like a rash though, he's been playing ever since it came out and I just don't understand what he sees' in the game anymore.

I'll quote something that "I" think describes online games as a whole perfectly.

MMORPGS are like a chocolate covered turd. On the outside they are good but deep down they are just ****.

What was your highest character?

I like how every WoW thread has just turned into the same level 40 Hunters bashing the game

<-- Level 63 hunter giving up on the game because the majority of quests are grind fests for Hydra Dung or Orc Eyes in the expansion. I was hoping for something a little more...fun. Yes, there are the fun quests

(like the bombing runs on the Burning Legion)

but that's far and few.

Ha! No kidding. I've done my far amount of complaining about the game in this thread (a couple hundred pages back)... I think people get to a point where they have played the game for many many hours and are just sick of it and can't take anymore.

I don't like the constant grinding myself... but it has been the same gameplay since MUD in the early and mid-nineties. Overall, solo gameplay is rather dry, repetitive and boring in WoW.

What I really enjoy with the game is doing instances in groups. The group dynamics of the game are what keep it interesting for me. I play with some family members that are spread out and it is a lot of fun to struggle through an instance together and a nice way for me to keep in contact with them.

64 rogue. And no.

I'm with you brother, I played from release and after 8 months I realized that it was just a big grindfest waste of time. They need to strip the RPG off of MMORPG because WoW is very arcade to me. No real depth. I'll stick to single player RPGs.

It is a grind-fest. Be it grinding instances for rep. An instance for gear or quite frankly anything, it's all eating your time away. Only thing I'll admit that it was fun at first, but once you've seen it once you've seen it all. I tried fairly hardcore raiding. 6 hours of about 5 days every week was quite tough for me, and I ended up quiting. I just don't have that kind of dedication to this game anymore, hence the quiting.

I did the same.

Quit for 2 months then had nothing else to play. Ended up coming back, on what was, my mage alt. Now level 68 and 3/4 having fun all over again in TBC. :p

You WILL be back. :D

quick question.

i'll be getting an imac soon. the standard 17", 2GHZ, 1GB ram, x1600 128MB. would wow run better under os x or windows [using bootcamp] or would it not matter & be more or less the same?

also, i assume you can use multiple pre-paid game cards, correct?

WoW runs a bit better in Windows XP, or so I've read. Personally, WoW runs fine for me in Mac OS X.

Yep. I use pre-paid game cards too.

Should run fine dude - I would recommend a little more ram though, but thats just a general OSX rule :)

i'm looking for an addon. you guys know how in guild wars your mini map thing shows enemies as red dots & your aggro area thing as a transparent circle around you? i want something like that. showing creatures & npc's might be cool, too. anything like that exist? ...or can i already do that? it feels like i can..

You can. But it's a talent call hunters tracking skills! :p

To everyone else I'm quite sure you can't do it. Or at least in my... Fair few years of playing WoW I've never seen such an addon.

for people that have bc - how are you liking it so far? I am thinking of getting BC and a new WoW (new acct, but currently in school)

Guess I'm valid to comment as I just hit 70.

- Flying mount are.. Under whelming. 60% flying speed is dire. It needs a buff before I go back to my old mount. I'd rather run the risk of getting attacked than take 5 mins longer to get to a location because my mount is going at the speed of a snail.

- PvE - Fantastic as usual as is spell steal for a mage, 220 spell damage from a mob means you rip up instances much quicker! :D

- Grinding - Hasn't bothered me, ended up getting to honoured and rev very VERY quickly purely by doing quests.

- PvP - Halaa is getting a lot of action some of the other areas are a bit more sparce with people dotted around doing the odd attack. Depends on which guilds are doing which instance though.

- Spells/Talents - Ice lance and spell steal are fantastic. I can't speak for other classes but they are well executed xpt for Arcane blast, which imo, is bloody awful.

I can't think what else to cover but if you'd like to know something about 70 just ask. :)

    • Funny, but I didn't had the issue. All PC's at work are Dell and we had the culprit version of Support Assist for about 2 weeks until we got the new one. No problem at all. And for checking you can also use Dell Command Update, no need to search in windows settings. Just check the Upgrade History.
    • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
