Depends what you want really.

But I highly suggest gettin agUnitFrames. It is a unit frame mod that makes your unit frames (thats just the thing in the corners like target/name/party etc) and it looks really good. Also, I suggest people stick to Ace addons. Ace addons are much more memory efficient. Check out the UI forums on forums.worldofwarcraft.com. Once you find something you like, post a screenshot and we will be able to help with it.

I use ALL ace mods found here and have for a long time now. Best part is there is a wowaceupdater that allows you to automatically keep all your addons up to date with the latest versions, which is great, I run it everyday before I log into wow just to get the most recent updates. I agree with Emorex though, ag_unitframes is awesome, also Fubar for a nice information bar at the bottom or top of your screen, and of course get a good bar replacement mod, I personally use bartender3.

This is pretty close to my current layout. Some changes since then but still pretty close:

yea if you enjoy a Ui that hogs up your memory use that ! on top of that its **** poor ugly

I don't know your system specs, but it runs perfectly fine on mine with no performance degradation. As for appearances, those are purely personal preference. I like being able to modify button bars to any shape I choose, have transparencies, and cover as little of the actual game screen as possible, and I find that the mods included in the Mirage compilation allow me to do just that.

Mirage is a HUGE resource hog, doesn't matter if your system can handle it or not, it is taking up a HUGE amount of ram/resource, etc..

But again its personal preference, just like a TON of people continued to use Discord mods back when it was a HUGE resource hog also.

Hmm gotta love the attitude folk have towards pallys. The fact that its a "Hybrid" class not a "Heal" class pretty much says it all. I play an endgame retribution pally and do quite well at that. I have 2 or 3 diff gear sets.

One of which is pure Healbot with nothing but +healing / +mp5 (tho ive balanced it to keep HP of 7500 for karazhan)

2nd set focus` on spelldamage for when I have to concecrate my ass off.

3rd set and most commonly used is a melee set thats +crit +strength + stamina

Im know looking to collect the Doomplate Dungeon Set and gear up a little in Heroic Mode runs :)

yea that because your farm rate is 16 fps lol no performance lose ROFL and 31 almost 32 megs of system memory

i run around 40 diffrent addons from Ah scanning to my bongos bar to various addons for questing - herbs-mining stuff like that ( i really need to go thou and remove some that i have or don't use )

anyways my fps stay at 70 - 90 no matter where im at my system memory use stays at 24megs ! ( love them ace addons )

so please DONT tell me that that hogging ui you have dosent affect you system while playing its drops your frame rate and that affects your gameplay

That screen shot happens to have been taken on my old desktop which is running an ancient 256mb 6800 at 1600 x 1200. On my 7900gtx @ 1900 x 1280 I never ever drop below 60fps. Your assumptions and arrogance are duly noted.

Just ignore the eliteists and PC enthusiasts, they arnt worth replying to. People choose what they like to use, if they dont like what you use, who gives a crap what they think.

I am trying to help someone by telling them the same thing I learned. Some of the mods I had installed, I found ACE mods which do EXACTLY the same thing, but do it with better code, and without having 2-3 different addons to make it work. People use what they want to use that is correct, and NOTHING wrong with that, but if you can help someone clean up their stuff by showing them alternatives that can do what they want only better than whats the harm in that?

This is my current UI, I dumped Bartender3 and cyCircled because of some bugs, and I find the default action bars just fine...

Btw, I'm not using the bow on that pic, i was just trying it out since I'm a Beast Mastery specced Hunter, and with that bow I get an attack speed of 1.74. :p

I didnt aim my post specifically at you but since you took it as a shot at you i'll put my post pretty simply. I know how good ACE addons are, I used them before i quit WoW. Photek UI specifically.

Shane CLEARLY knows what addons he wants to use, ACE addons have been linked to earlier in the thread. If it works for him, whats the problem. If it isnt broken dont fix it.

Anyone got a good set-up for BM? I need that to get Kara attuned, and it's been kicking my ass left and right lately. I think I'm geared damn well, for just running regular 5 mans and no heroic's, and I usually always run with well geared people, but I can't ever get a group to clear it. :(

Where do you have problems? And what kinda group setup are you going with? Best seems to be Mage, Lock, Rogue, Priest, Tank (Or replace the rogue with a second tank)

We used to save the beacons til the last boss, then all five dragons would take away a huge percentage and we'd just finish him off, sadly that no longer works.

Had that set-up, sometimes another mage instead of rogue and others combinations. We usually do fine to the first boss, but then it's like we can't kill the boss, and try to catch some of the adds at the same time. We usually all out dps on the boss but and try to grab the adds and any we don't we just let them beat up on Medivh and drop a beacon to save him. But that way and some others just aren't working. Usually were dead by the 8th wave.

we ran it 3 times last night in around 30 mins each run. I am trying to get my staff and one of the rogues is tryign to get his trinket. Setup we used was Resto Shaman, DPS shaman, rogue, mage, warrior, I was worried since the warrior was a Fury spec but it went smooth. Just remember to drop 1 chrono beacon on the 2nd boss, and 1-2 on the last so you get time to drink, eat. Have someone like a mage, or rogue on the adds, and the rest dps the rift lords fast.

Actually, BM is really easy as long as you have good DPS and reasonably intelligent people.

DPS is crucial, smart people a bit less so. What you need the DPS for, well that's obvious. The smart people then? Well, as you may know, the 12th rift spawns a boss that pretty much requires you to ignore the adds and focus all DPS on the boss. Get your people to understand this, and get them to know that the official add handler also says who uses their beacon and when. At the 12th rift you should have all your beacons unless your group is less than hot, and that's when the add handler pops his/her beacon at Medivh. Do this after a few mobs have bunched up there, no point in wasting your beacon from the start.

The 18th rift is the hardest test for your team though. Get them to stay back, stay the F away from Medivh and REST UP. Meddie's shield will hold for a good chunk of time, plenty to rebuff and re-mana. And this is something your healer will need, no doubt about that.

As for the boss himself, well he's pretty simple. Keep your tank topped off for the sleep sessions the boss pops and keep DPS fairly high.

    • While I agree with all that, it just proves there's an a** built for every seat.
    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.
