1. Gear. If you don't have "high level blues" yet - get them. Go thru easy Heroics, all the normal instances and gear everyone up to the max - get the Shatar/Aldor/Scryer reputation gear before even thinking about going to Kara unless you have a very skilled party.

2. Arcane resistance. I cannot emphasize enough how much this matters in certain places. Potions, gear, whatever. You'll want it.

3. High DPS. TBC meant "DPS or Die". During Curator fight for example, you need high DPS to kill the adds - it doesn't matter if you have multiple healers because if you can't keep high DPS, you will wipe. Note - Curator has an insanely long aggro range - pull the mobs FAR FAR away, preferably into the previous room.

4. Threat control. This is paramount for healers since many of the mobs in the instance cannot be taunted or shackled - Blessing of Salvation/Tranquil Air Totem wins the day.

5. Shadow/Priest in 2nd boss fight. Shackle is life.

6. Kara has a ludicrously fast spawn rate - 15-20 minutes and mobs spawn back. Wiping a few times means respawns. Speed is life.

And so forth - essentially stock up on mana potions, health potions, arcane resistance.. anything you can get your furry little hands on.

As said, upon your first Karazhan raid it's well advised to show up prepared in form of the best pre-raid equipment, potions, flasks etc.

However, after a couple of runs you'll find yourself a lot more comfortable with the instance, and as you gear up, you'll find yourself not needing any potions/flasks at all in Karazhan.

Off-topic:

I was pretty overwhelmed when I first saw the attunement-diagram, with all the quest-lines and bosskills needed to enter SSC/The Eye/Mt. Hyjal, but now my guild has started working on the first boss in The Eye, Void Reaver, and the attunemens is not that awful, it's like natural path leading to the greater instances.

For kara you pritty much dont have to be geared in full on epics. Best if you have your teir 3.5 ( the dungeon sets you get at 68++). Also you dont wont to have any green iteams on you best to have full blues.

Might be best to have two really good healers, good dps classes, pro as tank or tanks if you wont them.

Also of the topic of Kara. What is the best Oceanic server?

Thanks guys my warrior's name is Madslane. I'm pretty happpy with my gear ATM, have been working toward the Shat'ar shield though, but just hit revered last night.

And golferjim, I used to play on Khaz'GoRoth which was alright, then sucked and was alright again, but I haven't been on an Oceanic server in over a year so can't really help ya there to much.

thanks for that. I was just wondering that becuase the one iam on now which is Barthalis, Im not to sure wether to stay on this or not. Good for raiding but not good for normal instances also pvp is great :D

Also dose anyone no about any new oceanic servers coming out?

No new servers coming for a while, just play on the older ones.

On another note, I am unsure what class to roll. Want to make something that is good at PvP and Raiding and won't require different specs. I think I will make a mage!

Yeah mages are awsome as. They are very op if you spec frost. Maybe a warrior there really usful when it comes to raiding, also fun in pvp.

anyone here on pve servers? or are you all mainly on pvp servers?

For you guys on PvP servers, how do you manage to level? I am constantly ganked left right and center. Even close to guards I get ganked as the guards are just not high enough to really defent me. Also, how bad is it in outland with flying mounts? I am guessing you cannot even move as they drop down on you.

Im thinking of making a shaman on alliance. I need some help when it comes to playing it e.g what spec proffesions and anything else that will make it more enjoyable to play. thanks :D

As a vet shammy (As in since EU launch) I can only tell you - don't.

You will be massively frustrated in PVE and PVP wise as you will be forced to either spec restoration and you are nothing more than mincemeat in PVP,?you?have?absolutely?no?defence?against?being?crowd?controlled,?your?damage?is?(at?least?after?the?2.1?'fixes')?mediocre?and?you'll?find?spending?a?good?majority?of?your?time?with?your?hands?off?the?keyboard?as?you've?lost?all?control?of?your?character?with?absolutely?no?ability?to?prevent?it.

Until they make some adjustments to the class (and reading the US forums (EU forums have absolutely 0 communication with the devs of any kind so I have to resort to the US forums) there will be absolutely no fixes coming anytime soon) you will find nothing but frustration with the class - it will be fun up to around lev50, after 60 it's nothing more than a pain in the ass.

If you want to be competitive roll something like a lock - at least then you have a fighting chance.

i have a 70 shaman and NO GUILD will tell me how to spec and im enchantment atm and love it . i solo easy and pvp just fine SURE there are soem classes that rip me up but hel;ll that with any class

Thats great, but no groups would take you when there is an abundance of better DPSers. That's without mentioning PvP isn't exactly satisfying these days. Really if you want to do anything interesting (read end game, because blizzard painted them selfs in to a corner with TBC. PvP is dead and arenas are dominated by guilded hardcore players). You're speccing resto.

If you're looking for a hybrid class pick a druid. You'll be able to either watch health bars and heal or watch your targets health bar and tank. Pallys & Hunters are over subscribed.

First of all, it's "Enhancement" and second of all how's life with your awesome outland greens and blues?

If you want to raid (assuming that any raid guilds actually bother to take you in nowadays when others do what you do, except much better) you're going to spec resto - no guild in their right mind will take an elemental (How's the mana? 5 minute LB spam? *chuckle*) shaman and enhance is useless due to low constant dps and high threat.

Just because you can currently exploit the DW WF5/WF4 bug, doesn't mean you'll be doing squat in a few weeks.

The?current?developers?are?hellbent?on?either?making?hybrids?completely?useless.?No?wonder?so?many?of?them?left.?

LOL wtf are you talking about im in a guild and im wanted on raids SCREW resto never have never will ... sucks if people dont have an open mind to "allow" diffrent specs but the guild im in allows all specs :D its great

I dont think hybrids are really stuck in one role anymore. I hear lots of enhancement shaman are raiding, so I guess it just depends. If you know what you are doing, you could give melee DPSers insane buffs with your totems while still providing good dps yourself.

But ya, Spookie pretty much reminded me why I should not come back to this game. Raiding is really tiring and although I haven't done a lot of it, I get really bored just constantly spamming the same button over and over again.

:( Trying to move on but its so hard!!! lol

Some guilds prefer to progress rather than bashing midnight every week though!

Enhancement is a dire dire raid spec. We've had people experement in the past and every class shat all over the shammy leaving them a far few lengths behind. I'd take a Feral (cat) druid over a enhancement druid any day my self. Place him a melee group next patch and they will have a field day.

That's what blizzard wanted you to believe. Alas you can't reform a class in an expansion (unless it's a druid or a mage) so you're stuck with the D-Tape effect. Better but unfinished.

hmhmm I dont mind healing but i guess your useless in everything else in the game then. locks ok ill see if i like them

Enhancement Shamans can more than hold their own when it comes to DPS in raids :) I'm happy with my Kara/Gruul spot right now and moving on to Serpentshrine. Also not everything is based on a single players DPS. Don't forget an enhancement shaman in a melee group will also increase their dps with the +10% ap buff add a strength totem and thats another 150+ ap. Then you can add the Grace of Air for extra 2% dodge for tank and crit for the melee group. Show me another class that can do that and I will be happy to agree Enhancement is a useless spec end game. Being honest, I feel a resto Shaman is more of a waste. There are 3 better classes for healing than a Shaman all be it a Paladin struggles when trying to heal more than 1 target.

1. You have no threat control mechanisms at all (LoL @ Spirit Weapons)- if you gain aggro, you die.

2. Rogue can deal more damage, has threat controls mechanisms,?poisons?and has?cc?-?albeit?somewhat?limited.

Once 2.1 fix regarding WF5/4 goes in place, you can kiss your top-5 DPS spot bye bye. With the 60% clearcasting nerf going in, you can also kiss elemental longevity bye bye.

As for the totems - resto can do the same, can drop a mana tide that massively helps mana/healer longevity.

Actually downranked Chain Heal with +healing over 1200 (And Totem of Healing Rains) can hit multiple targets as, or rather more, effectively than max speed FoL.?When?dealing?with?multiple?melee?DPS?dealers?chain?heal?owns.

Yeah shamans have really good damage for soloing. Is elemental any good for pvp or raiding damage wise?

    • Owing to the nature of Windows feature enablement updates, it was distributed over Windows Update services as a complete system upgrade rather than as an ordinary cumulative update
    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2, urges IT admins to prepare for release by Usama Jawad Windows 11 typically follows an annual update cycle, but Microsoft recently broke that tradition a bit by releasing a "26H1" version in the first half of this year as a "scoped" build for select new silicon PCs only. This version was not available for customers using 24H2 and 25H2 builds, as Microsoft is busy preparing version 26H2 for them, confirmed officially for the first time. In a Windows IT Pro blog, Microsoft has urged IT admins to prepare for the upcoming release of Windows 11 version 26H2. The company has confirmed that this will be a small enablement package (eKB) that will simply light up certain disabled features that are already present in the operating system's code base. This means that the "refined" Windows update and deployment experience will be simpler and quicker, with minimal disruptions, as the feature update will simply toggle a few flags rather than performing a complete replacement. Microsoft has explained that this is all possible because the standard Windows 11 releases share the same servicing branch and hence, the same source code. However, this also means that Windows 11 26H1 users won't be able to upgrade to 26H2 as that is a different branch, but this is something we have known for a while now. Similar to previous annual feature updates, Windows 11 26H2 will offer the following support cycles: 24 months of support for Home, Pro, Pro EDU, and Pro for Workstations editions 36 months of support for Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise Multi-session editions Microsoft has not confirmed a concrete release date for Windows 11 26H2, but noted that it is "coming soon". If we go by the ongoing release cadence, we can expect it to begin rolling out in early October 2026. As such, IT admins have been encouraged to begin validating Windows Insider releases in the Experimental Channel, plan rollout rings, and strategize the utilization of their existing deployment tools.
    • Windows 11 gets new audio improvements in the latest builds by Taras Buria Today's Experimental builds (26H1 and Future Platforms, formerly Canary) pack several audio-related improvements. If your device is enrolled in the Experimental Channel (26H1), you can download build 28120.2315, while those in the Future Platforms version have build 29613.1000 to try. Here is what is new in build 29613.1000: [Audio] Following up on our previous improvements, we’re making some more adjustments to Settings > System > Sounds based on your feedback. Namely, we’ve updated the “All sound devices” page so: You now have the ability to change default devices from this page. Each of the devices displayed on this page now has a little volume meter next to it to show if there is audio actively playing. We’ve adjusted the page design slightly so now you can filter whether you’re viewing input or output devices. We’ve added toggles so you can choose if you want to hide or show disabled, disconnected, and unplugged devices on this page. We’ve also updated the input and output audio properties page for devices in Settings to now include jack information for those that need it. And here is the changelog for build 28120.2315: This update includes a small number of minor bug fixes and improvements. [Accessibility] This update improves caption style responsiveness by redrawing captions immediately for caption style changes. If no current caption is visible, a sample caption string is displayed. [Audio] This update improves the reliability of the inbox HD Audio driver. You can find the official release notes for build 28120.2315 here and for build 29613.1000 here.
    • I agree with what I think you are saying, just not in the way you are saying it. Like any tool, the amount it represents your work is perorational to the effort you put into it. It is similar to why 2nd grade math students learning to add and subtract are not allowed to use calculators, but a high-school calculous student is. For the 2nd grader, that tool would completely replace the work they are doing, for the calculous student the same tool allows them to work far more effectively while in no way replacing their effort or knowable. If you spend 30 seconds writing a prompt, then the image that comes out is no more "yours" than if you found the same image with a Google Image search. However, many of these generative tools also support highly iterative processes that allow back and forth, and merging generated images with photos or human created images. I am sure you would agree that a human spending hours of time working on a project, even if AI was involved in the process, still reflects that human's work.
