I think you've been misinformed. In comparable gear, a druid in bear form has more HP and more armor :/ BUt that shouldn't mean that bears are better tanks than warriors. A warrior is still a better tank because of +defence.

As for crits, it's rogues' and hunters' speciality.

As for the largest crits, you have to be specced for mortal strike :)

Agreed on the armor being nice and high as well as the HP. I'll say that it's still quite the toss-up on better tanks. Each one has its place, whether it's a druid or a warrior. Too many things come into play, such as how good the person is tanking, what instance, capacity, etc.

Overall, I find druids to make better tanks from my own personal experience. And that's subject to what I've been subjected to :p One thing I absolutely hate as a healer is waiting with my finger on the keyboard to heal a warrior tank, knowing that he's going to get nailed any second, as opposed to druids who are able to sustain life longer with heals that are more manageable.

Druids are the hardest classes to kill in arenas by far :(. I can't even mana burn one of them... stupid travel form.

As for ret. paladins: we've been trying them in Hyjal/BT and at least from what I've seen it's hard to justify the spot over a shadow priest. Seems like all of our paladins want to do anything but heal now and our shadow priests want to respec heal-bot. Maybe we just need to find a good (geared) one.

I'll tell ya, as a Paladin that tanked his way up to 60 and did shockadin to 70, all I'm doing now is healing which is quite the change. But it's fine actually. I do like the idea of plate healing with super mana efficient FoL heals and various buffs, auras, etc.

Total opposite on our guild :p We have all the priests as shadow, bar none. No one ever wants to do anything with healing or going disc. I will say that I absolutely love what they bring to the table with VE <3 and the damage they cause.

I'm totally sick of just doing heals. I can't complete any quests on my own in a fast fashion. The kills take sooooooooooo long it's unbearable!

So when I'm done with Kara runs and Heroics I get on my Shammy and crit like crazy. It's finally one that I can take people down while PvP'ing with instead of always getting killed since I'm just a plate healer :p Everyone needs a little variety :D

phate, funny thing is. I tried to ask around but all I got was "noob". I'll figure it out though, I've been reading several guides. It's unfortunate people have to act that way.

I'm almost a lvl 10 Night Elf Warrior. I'm over at Aldrassil. That's about all I can tell ya right now. That, and my names Grepo. I'll be on in about 30 minutes or so. It would be nice to be shown around a little.

If you're on my server Eldre'Thales I'll gladly help you out for a couple of hours.. you'll be on your way in no time, im Karkadium

Jeepers creepers. I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Shammys and BTs and tanks, lol. I think I'll run my month subscription out and leave this game to the kids.

I was starting to get the hang of it, I thought, but it seems like around every corner there's something that requires me to be Superman.

My main issue is with the quests, I get the quest and then I'm lost. I just can't understand why there isn't a little arrow in the map showing what way I need to go. It's like I'm suppose to be born knowing where everything is.

What's this about addons? Would that not be cheating?. Would there be an addon that would point me in the right direction?. I suppose it'll all be aggravating until I get the hang of it. Probably doesn't help that I only play for an hour a day, five years ago I'd be on all day, playing.

Edit: I just posted ofter you phate, I'm on Azuremyst.

Don't get discouraged. I actually played a lock as my first character to level 40 before I really started to get an idea of the game. I abandoned him for a long time a rolled a pally that's 70 and have a 40 shammy, rogue, mage, druid, etc.

I was just all about trying different stuff to get a better feel for the game. http://www.wowhead.com is a great resource that you can look at if you are having trouble with quests. They can tell you where to go and assist in a variety of ways. You still have to complete the quests and everything so it's not like it's cheating. You are just shortcutting it a little bit.

There's various add-ons to use, and most published ones aren't considered cheaters. If they were, you'd be banned from the game. Common ones out there aren't like that. They simply give you a better UI and an easier-on-the-eyes view.

I mean, I use add-ons like CT_Mod for my UI (love the way colors change when health drops instead of having it remain green all the time, plus the buff mod is really great for me) - EquipCompare for comparing weapons, armor, etc. side-by-side - Decursive for removing debuffs quickly...those are just a few common ones.

But I like using those over the standard UI that the game gives you. Everyone has their own particulars though.

I do think you'll feel a bit more comfortable after looking on Wowhead for a few quests. Then at least you won't be running around blindly.

It's a big game, just post back if you need help :)

imho, they've done a really god job with the quests. They are self-explanatory for the most part and give good directions (example: to the north of the village X, south-west of the lake Y, etc). If you still have problems doing them, you can download ctmod_core and it will show X:Y coordinates on the map. So all you'll have to do then is to go to thottbot.com, copy and paste the name of the quest and get the coordinates.

Raiding got a lot more fun towards the end of AQ40/Naxx. Tier 4 is mind-numbing, but by the time you get to end Tier 5 and mid-Tier 6 it gets fun again. But shield? Renew? WTF? Heal Rank 1/2 or Gheal 1 spam with overpowered tier 2 bonsues was win before TBC.

I use to '%' heal and everyone assumed I just had excellent talent spec because I outlasted the spammers. I use to be top of the effective healing list too next to druids in nax. ;)

But ye, I cleared everything up to the second spider boss before rerolling, purely because it was mind numbingly dull. When I was ploughing through the outlands as a mage things didn't seem to get any better for healers. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure it does improve. By the looks of it some of the later bosses are brilliant. But I lost my account way before the realistic attempts at Vash etc.

Well that wasn't exactly what I use to hit but you get an idea of the repetitive nature! ;)

<3 not to mention we normaly come well equipped, offer to tank and hell even enjoy it!

No one ever wants to do anything with healing or going disc. I will say that I absolutely love what they bring to the table with VE <3 and the damage they cause.

I have to agree I had one in the Mana Tombs last night and the speed he churned out mobs was fantastic. I had to compete with the agro to keep things off him. Went though at a hell of a pace. Would have cleared in record time if it wasn't for the 12 year old mage screaming: "<insert skill here> ME" or Pyro pulling!

Most of the people in my raiding guild are 20+ we even have a 40 year old and OMG A GURL! The acronmys and shorting of typical words are used in EVERY mmo, they will come to you soon enough.

I was starting to get the hang of it, I thought, but it seems like around every corner there's something that requires me to be Superman.

I don't understand how you are struggling. None of the quests up until Outlands are cryptic and are very well documented. Everquest 2's questing system leaves you more in the dark to be honest. Just pull at range, attack, loot, rinse and repeat.

My main issue is with the quests, I get the quest and then I'm lost. I just can't understand why there isn't a little arrow in the map showing what way I need to go. It's like I'm suppose to be born knowing where everything is.

Go to wowhead.com type in the quest name and it will give you the location and comments posted by other players.

Cheating = botting, 3rd party programs & exploits

Addons = Interface changes and improvements.

Nothing will give you 'OVER HERE' type waypoints but with addons like Cartographer you can place them on the map your self.

EPIX POST sorry! :(

Ok I'm loving my Pally :)

I'm still only low lvl

But an addon called Lightheaded gives you an arrow above your head for quest directions and has player feedback on quests next to your quest log.

If I didn't have this addon I'd of been bored of searching for things long ago :)

As for ret. paladins: we've been trying them in Hyjal/BT and at least from what I've seen it's hard to justify the spot over a shadow priest.

Hmm Ret dps is comparable to a SP I regularly give our SP`s a good licking on the damage meters and whilst SP`s bring utility too they dont bring the wealth of buffs a Ret does. Whilst I wouldnt really consider running anymore than 1-2 ret pallys in a raid tops (2 is pushing it). Having 1 does have its benefits as stated before. Whilst you may have 2-3 Sp`s in a raid in a 25man 1 spot being given to a dps pally isnt gonna mean wipes all night or unsuccessful kills due to a lack of dps.

Tbh theres no real good reason not to run a ret in a raid just as long as you aint running a whole squad of them. Its not that theres dps is awful when compared to other hybrids or anything like that its just not a good idea to run a raid full of hybrid dps when there are dedicated classes, as if a raid was hybrid only then I think youd find yourself in deep poo

But it appears to be simply a database of wowhead comments. Surely that it'll eat performance even on a LoD method! :s

Well ive been using it this week to power lvl my mage up to OL standards for Xmas and so far Ive not noticed any huge memory usage increases or anything that woul suggest its eating my performance for lunch.

Is a 5mb download tho which is quiet big for an addon but it does just seems a databse of comments. What id appreciate more would be just a database of info such as co-ords for mobs etc without all the..

"I play a hunter , blah blah bah, found it to be ,blah blah bah blah blah bah blah blah bah something about a jade monkey blah blah bah blah blah bah blah blah bah wow hurts my life blah blah bah blah blah bah blah blah bah im a 1-year ld kid whos only goal in life is to spam wowhead blah blah bah blah blah bah blah blah bah oh and heres the co ords for that npc 35,57"

But it appears to be simply a database of wowhead comments. Surely that it'll eat performance even on a LoD method! :s

tbh I notice no lack of performance with this mod and I don't have a supa dupa PC either :)

It's more convieniant to have the comments there as oppossed to alt-tabbing out to search on Thottbott. It only loads the comments of the quests you're on as it's linked.

But it's the arrow and it places a red X on your map of where the quest points are :) That was the seller for me.

Prot pallies are great in Hyjal/BT. After joining a new raid who have one it's ridiculous how easy it is. I play a prot warrior and I was literally just standing there not tanking anything during the Hyjal trash.

Ret pallies are another matter. I totally understand wanting to respec to have fun in pvp (a BIG issue for prot warriors too). It's more of say in WSG you try run the flag down the middle 3 or 4 times and you have 2 pallies, a priest, and a druid all of them doing DPS and the flag carrier dies every single time. Honestly, I dont care if you want to DPS but the fact that you can heal means you should heal when someone else needs it. It really seperates the good ret pallies (which f***ing hurt mind you) and the **** ones (who call for others to heal them and don't heal anyone else).

On a different note, some new information about 2.4 has been announced regarding Sunwell (5 man/raid/dailies/rep) and large PvP balance changes (I'm guessing war/druid, spriest/lock combos would be first target). Tigole also mentioend about bringing WoW PVP more in line as an e-sport. To me that would include a spectator mode where you could simply join any match as a spectator or mabye even guild v guild battlegrounds?

I can see both sides of the table. I can say the same thing about a priest, even if he is shadow. The problem is that there's no black and white rule. If you are a decked out ret pally, you will be blowing Mana on all-out DPS and shoudn't heal. I know that's bound to cause an argument but that's my opinion.

A ret pally can inflict more damage than he can heal, so the best bet is to dps down the competition as fast as possible, not stop to heal anyone. I know the argument is there, but if you are running around with shadow priests and ret pallies, along with a warrior, then I'd personally have everything DPS down their healer and then anyone else on the next threat level. You're all about damage, so don't bother doing a weak heal that you aren't specc'ed for. In the time it takes for you to heal for a measly amount, you could have already stunned the competition, silenced them, dps dps dps, etc. A ret pally who heals is [1] out of his element and [2] a ****ty healer most of the time anyway, because of lack of bonuses and experience.

I had the same argument myself until I played one...I could always yell at people even after I was a tankadin - you can heal dammit! Do it! When you exchange high dps for low healing, you aren't helping. Just my experience from what I've been through, but I'm sure people can shoot holes through any of my logic :p

You do know that a Ret pally has pretty much 0 +healing? That they often are burnt for mana after a fight and that there Flash of light spam heal does about 400-500hp, not to mention there main heal which uses 800 mana about 1/5 to 1/7 of there mana takes 3 secs to cast often not very possible on someone running about in BG`s and heals fro about 3k if that.

Intead of this OMFG you can heal you should attitude, learn that REAL Bg`s require a pre-made and that more often than not BG`s as public events attract a lot of casuals who fall under the category of twats.

I dont have any WWS yet to show but for Ret Pally infos and how to use em effectively http://cromfel.battlefield.fi/

lightheaded + tomtom.

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, Sonic Racing, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games store brought along two games from wildly different genres this week for PC gamers to claim. Robobeat is a rhythm-based action game that lets you become a bounty hunter that can wall run, slide, and bunny hop around his opponents. All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station. It uses tabletop RPG-inspired elements like dice rolls and timers to change up how players approach its activities, factions, and storylines. The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways end on June 25. On the same day, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought will become the next freebies. The bundle space expanded with two more collections from Humble this week too. The June 2unes bundle is up first, carrying plenty of rhythm games. This carries Kill the Music and Rhythm Witch in the $5 starting tier, followed by Trombone Champ, Spin Rhythm XD, and Thumper in the $7 tier. Paying at least $12 gets you the complete bundle, which adds on Kalpa: Cosmic Symphony, Everhood 2, NOISZ, and Sixtar Gate: StarTrail. The next bundle is for virtual reality fans. This carries Among Us 3D: VR and Zero Caliber VR for $10. The next tier brings in Tactical Assault VR, Ancient Dungeon, and Arizona Sunshine Remake for $15. VTOL VR, Zero Caliber 2 Remastered, Metro Awakening, and Thief VR land to finish things off for $18. Free Events It's a big week for free event fans, as Valve kicked off another one of its Next Fest events. This one carries thousands of gameplay slices from upcoming indie games The promotion is set to run until June 22. Standard free events are also ongoing this weekend. • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.
