Well, if you are looking for a warrior or a paladin I'll offer my experiences with a pally. And the "needed" classes are all based on what server you play on, so it's really a factor.

I have never rolled a warrior so I'm not even going to comment on it. I know the class, but I'll share my personal experience with my pally.

I am Horde, and used this guide here: http://<< spam >>/yutv8d for my builds, leveling, etc. (It's for a Prot spec pally) I thought it was really fun to level with. It's not 1-button fighting, that's for sure.

I could take down mobs with 8 people beating the crap outta my pally while I laughed and took them all down, having more than 1/2 my life available at the end of the fight. Now, starting off, you really have to get into a pattern and know the seals, judgements, auras, etc. in order to be effective. But man, I thought it was really fun being prot spec. And it never gets old having an audience of people (alliance in my case) look at you and start to laugh until they realize that you pulled 8 people to fight on purpose and beat all of them to the ground without bubbling.

Then I got to Outlands and I couldn't stand it. Since most people on my server hate prot pallies (since none of them seemt o be able to tank worth a damn) I specced to more of a shockadin build. That was ok, but only if you had the gear for it.

I grouped more in Outlands than anywhere else because I would basically stalemate fights unless I was fighting undead or demons, where pallies have a nice dps advantage. The dps isn't high enough to take people down quick, so if you can't beat a healer down in time, he'll continously heal the other enemy that is beating on you while you are trying to kill the caster. Then he'll heal himself, rinse and repeat. You won't lose any life, but you can't burn them down quick enough with that spec. That was my findings anyway.

I'm now the main healer for my guild and only need help when in Kara or something larger than a 5 man heroic. Then I grab our druid healer and we own!

But I really thought the paladin was fun to play with. I'd honestly roll another one and do it again with the same build spec. I had that much fun doing it. BUT, you have to be ok with not having high dps...and funny looking ears. This is a build that makes you very hard to kill, so you have to give and take with the build.

Are mages easy to pvp with though? They seem to break at any damage.

If you know your mages they are absolutely phenomenal. We get nailed at Tarren Mill all the time. About 8 alliance 70's think it's fun to come runnin' on in to destroy the place.

I get on with my healadin, another in my guild (shadow priest in blues) and this mage

Fae Victus is a fantastic guild on my server. In my opinion, one of the best I've seen or had the pleasure of playing with.

We can take on all their 70's with Sunfire doing so much damage it's absolutely incredible. I laugh until I cry at the amazement when we have done it in the past. Now, you can blame the other alliance characters as being n00bs or whatever you want. Point is, he absolutely owns, whether they bring in shamans, druids, warriors, etc.

He absolutely obliterates them. He has the gear for it, but man - just like a good shadow priest...they can really beat you down. Most of the clothies that I play with (that are very good with their characters) get whispers from warriors and other plate-wearing classes in amazement when they get owned in duels or PvP like "I'm dead already!? WTF?!" Glass cannons, but gear definitely helps out.

Both Mages and Rogues are arguably the best DPS classes in the game. I had Tmoney shred me to pieces in oh....10 seconds maybe? Yeah, I'm not geared like him, but the damage is incredible.

I rolled a Warrior, he's progressed 3/6 SSC, 1/4 TK. If you roll a warrior you'll be asked to tank. Warriors are the primary tanking class no matter what anyone says. I leveled my toon via the arms tree which is PvP. Was he a pain to level? Yes, it was a nightmare. You die alot and you cant heal yourself. However the leveling pays off at 70 when you have the most HP(I stand at around 15.2K unbuffed), your OPed in PvP and it requires a 10 man raid to take you down.

I am currently playing a with the Horde on a Level 64 Enhancement Shammy. . . as I near 70 I was looking for information on how people feel about 70 Shamans in PVP and if Enhancement is the way to continue.

Additionally any other websites with information regarding PVP and Shamans would be well received.

Ty,

Phunk

true but pallys are taking over the warriors class even if you disagree and say its warriors not be takening over. Truth is pallys are becoming more and more popular even though I agree with you that warriors are the main tanks and should be.

I notice a lot of talk about "the way things are". Class X must spec Y. Nobody wants to do Z with class/spec A, B, or C.

Some classes/specs are more desirable than others but In the raid game you can justify just about any class with a PVE spec: the only thing that can really hamper your success is access to gear that make your spec choice viable.

For the record:

  • Frost puts up competitive DPS when you have access to Tier 6.
  • An ideal raid will at most 1 holy priest, the others should be shadow.

guys what do you think of the deathknight class and what deathknight class do you want?

What do you mean by what deathknight class we want? Deathknight is the class, do you mean what race of Deathknight?

Deathknight itself will probably be alot of fun, since its a warrior/pally/warlock combo. Will probably be extremely overpowered at first and have to be nerfed like most classes, but I am interested to see how it will play out.

I am kinda iffy on the "everyone can be one" though. I think it needs to be a special unlock for a warrior/pally/lock myself, like a higher Tier level of the exsisting class, since thats what Archmages are, etc.

Wow, thanks for all the superb info. Ya, I think warrior is out of the picture, now my choices are Mage or Paladin. I am leaning towards paladin because I can do more than DPS while with mage I have a feeling it will be a 1 button class (frostbolt or fireball with fireshock).

Thanks for all your help.

While I do agree with you on the lore aspect, I don't think it's fair if some people cannot get access to a brand new class, with new skills and everything. It would make more sense if all classes got "epic" or higher tier versions.

all classes WILL be getting higher tier versions.. This is just the first in the Heroic Class, blizz said long ago they want to add a a ton of heroic classes to the game, and if someone wants to be a deathknight, then go level one of the classes it takes to unlock it.

I mean come on you seriously want the main tank Deathknight in your end game guild to be some random mage that doesn't know the FIRST thing about tanking, or aggro or anything else? I mean when you unlock deathknight they start at level 40 NOT level 1, so you don't get the full idea of leveling the toon and learning it.

So? You do realize a new full class, with over 100 skills is kind of unfair to only a group of people. I mean c'mon, what makes you special just because a few of you decided to roll a warrior on the first day. If you expect blizzard to do what you are saying, they better release a higher tier version for all the other classes as well. I am not waiting 3-4 years while few of you are on another tier.

No, but I wouldn't want a warrior, druid or paladin that can't play to be the main-tank either.

There was a time when I didn't know a damn thing about even basic group play. I took notes when I first started playing, I'll try to find them so you can see how laughably wrong some of my observations were.

mean when you unlock deathknight they start at level 40 NOT level 1, so you don't get the full idea of leveling the toon and learning it.

I think most of the content between the starter zone and outland can safely be skipped. You don't really learn a hell of a lot between the two: it's mostly practice of the things you learn in the first 10-20 hours of play.

The only thing that you don't really learn is how to raid (vs 5-man party). Molten Core used to serve as the 'welcome to end-game' instance but there's no reason to go there any more. With Naxx being re-released as the intro to raiding zone the major gap for new-character progression will finally be plugged.

NINJA EDIT:

I finally scraped together enough to get a flying mount for my mage. It took a while but my girl's all grown up.

LF9M: kara.

yes what deathknight race and class warrior or hunter or lock or etc.I know it unlocks at 58 and think it starts off for the locks first or pallys or warriors not all races and class will have the deathknight class open to all. I think there slowly do one class and race at a time per a patch or etc.

That's incorrect. The ability to create a deathknight will be unlocked for your account after completing a quest at level cap. Details were provided at

.

They plan to offer additional 'hero classes' in the future but haven't said anything with respect to their future plans, dates, names, abilities, etc.

im playing it on Windows and wondering how it would perform on a mac (if I get one) without DirectX?

It runs flawlessly on the current generation iMac/Macbook pro/Macbook Pro with all options maxed. Playable—barely—on macbooks/mac mini/macbook air. Raiding on the low-end machines isn't really an option on one the framerate drops to the single digits, but you can solo-quest and run 5-man content easily enough.

evn, what are your main characters and how much do you enjoy them? Also I assume you are mainly into PvE over PvP?

I don't want to say too much, but my main is a priest (COH) and my alt is a mage (Arc/forst).

I focus on PVE now, prior to 60 I did the honor grind to 99% through rank 10 - I quit because I couldn't really dedicate 30-60 hours a week to getting high warlord. After that I started casual progrsesion PvEing and made it into nax/aq before expansion.

My priest logs in almost exclusively to raid or do daily quests to pay for raiding (I'm writting this post between trash-pulls in BT now). I really dislike pvp on him now because I have neither the spec nor gear to be competitive, and I don't have the time to farm it either. I spend 90% of my time playing this character.

My mage is currently pugging battlegrounds for 'welfare epics' and it's fun. I prefer pvp on her for a number of reasons, not the least of which is not being expected to babysit badly-geared warriors that think they're gods gift to pvp.I enjoy playing on her but I'll probably never raid on her (unless you count karazhan) for the same reason I don't pvp on my priest: no time.

If I was retired and had nothing else to do I'd play both characters in PVE and PVP, both are fun in their own right. I prefer PVE on the priest and PVP on the mage but that might just be a function of gear/spec.

  • Frost puts up competitive DPS when you have access to Tier 6.
  • An ideal raid will at most 1 holy priest, the others should be shadow.

- Oh right only tier 6? ;/

- While I prefer druid and pally healers, most guilds starting out won't get the choice of having loads of shadow priests.

- Oh right only tier 6? ;/

For some reason I was specifically thinking of how 2/5 T5 + MSD + LC made arcane worthwhile. With changes to the frost talents a PVE spec should be competitive with fire (?3-5%).

- While I prefer druid and pally healers, most guilds starting out won't get the choice of having loads of shadow priests.

Maybe this has to do with when we started raiding? Our priests mostly went shadow before patch 2.1 (between being out classed by paladins, stupid-easy access to best-in-slot items, and the awesomeness of VT+VE it was an easy choice). Most of them have stayed and those that don't typically work out a roll-swap with one of the holy priests that wants to take a break from healing.

It's also much easier to find a geared shadow priest: Tailoring + AH + badge + welfare epics = tier 6 ready (more or less). A holy priest still requires raid loot (IMO) to be competitive in tier 6 content.

    • We check out the SKG PS700 Neck Massager by Steven Parker I was offered the chance to test out the SKG PS700 Neck Massager, and full disclosure, they let me keep it regardless of my findings. Anyway, I jumped at the chance due to my long hours sitting at my desk; I figured it could offer some neck pain relief. What's in the box: SKG PS700-2 Neck Massager Rechargeable Battery (inside massager) Type-C USB cable User Manual Quick Start guide 1-Year Warranty In short, everything you need to get started. According to the official listing, here are the key features: Biomimetic Kneading & High Torque Motor: Designed with innovative biomimetic kneading heads that perfectly simulate the touch of human hands. Powered by a high-torque motor, this massager delivers powerful and precise deep tissue relief to effectively target stiff neck muscles and release built-up tension Soothing Heat & Integrated Sound Relaxation: Experience the ultimate Relaxationation with our dual-action approach. The soothing heat function gently warms your neck, while the built-in sound Relaxation provides calming audio tracks, helping you achieve a state of mindfulness and mental tranquility during your physical massage Cordless Convenience & Travel-Ready & Father's Day Gifts: Crafted for maximum portability and ease of use. Its lightweight, cordless design allows you to enjoy a premium massage anywhere without the hassle of tangled wires-whether you're taking a quick break at your desk or winding down at home Versatile Relief for Home & Office: An essential wellness companion for office workers, gamers, frequent travelers, or anyone looking to integrate mindfulness into their daily routine. It seamlessly fits into your lifestyle, providing instant neck relief whenever and wherever you need it Safe & Premium Materials: Manufactured with high-quality, skin-friendly materials to ensure a safe and comfortable experience without irritation. SKG backs this device with dedicated customer service, making it a thoughtful tech-health gift for family and friends App & Bluetooth Music Control: Connect via Bluetooth to control your massage settings through the dedicated app and enjoy your favorite music during your massage session for a fully customizable and immersive relaxation experience Red Light Warmth Technology: Features advanced red light warmth technology that penetrates deep into neck muscles to enhance blood circulation and provide soothing comfort while relieving muscle tension and stiffness Design With all that out of the way, here are my own findings. SKG does not say what materials are used to make the neck massager. However, on the product website, it mentions "soft-touch silicone" with what looks like PU leather cushioning, with the rest being mostly made up of plastics. On the inside of the massager, there are two "biomimetic kneading heads" that are motorized for the different styles of massage, which are not actually listed at all in the paper user manual, but the standard included modes are: De-stress mode, Mediation mode, Relax mode, Shiatsu mode. The massager looks quite premium and is actually very comfortable to wear. This massager is small and light enough to go anywhere, as it doesn't get in the way of anything, so I was able to use it in the chair while writing this review. Unlike the back massager, SKG does not warn in the user guide not to use it for more than 30 minutes a day (or two 15-minute sessions). However, there is a long laundry list of important safeguards to consider before and during the use of the device, and it is warned that the neck massager is not waterproof. It also includes a 1,400mAh battery with a rated power of 14W and input of 5V, which is the standard for up to USB 3.0 power (although the Amperage is not mentioned at all). SKG does not say how long it takes to charge, but a quick calculation at 2A (if that is what it is) would mean it would take roughly 1.5 hrs to charge from empty. In any case, the light around the button changes from orange to green on a full charge. In addition, it is not possible to use the device while it is charging. On the right of the neck massager is the On/Off and modes button, which also acts as a joystick. You can operate all the modes directly from the power button, as well as the app, which I'll get into a bit later: Push up: Short press to adjust Heat levels On/Off button: long press Mode Switching: Short press (while in operation) ➕ Push left: increase Music volume ➖ push right: decrease Music volume Push down: Short-press to turn Music on or off The massager defaults to De-stress mode, and it is not stated anywhere if the neck massager has overheat protection. This time around, regarding heat, the only detail I could find is that it has "triple action soothing heat." The temperature stages are not listed anywhere in the paper manual, Amazon listing, or official website. The heat levels can be adjusted through the app or directly on the device using the joystick button. Usage There's also the SKG Health app, which makes using the massager far easier than feeling around for the button on the side of your neck. If the app is stopped, you are required to log in with a verification code over email, which I am not too pleased with, as this means it will only work that way for however long SKG decides to support it through said app. However, I was not able to get the app to connect to the OS500, which I have reported back to my contact. Bluetooth appeared to be working on the neck massager as it became available to pair with my phone, but the SKG app failed to discover it. Before I forget, there's also a switch next to the USB charging port to deactivate and activate the Voice Prompt, which, when enabled, audibly tells the user when switching intensities, modes, or connecting to the app and informs when the massages start and are completed. That said, on to my likes and dislikes, which are listed below. What I didn't like Unable to connect the Neck Massager to the app Use through the mobile app relies on continued support from SKG What I liked Can be used without the app Cordless use Light and comfortable to wear Heat is also quite comfortable Where to buy: According to the official website, this has an MSRP of $249.99, but is currently $50 (on Amazon). To sweeten the deal a bit more, there's also an in-page coupon that knocks a further $20 off the price. SKG PS700-2 Neck Massager for $179.99 on Amazon (was $199.99) Apply the in-page $20 off coupon for the final price of $179.99 Just like the back massager, this gets a confused thumbs up (due to the cost). However, I cannot rate it through app usage as it failed to connect. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

    • I just wish they would put more love into Virtual Desktops. There is just so much more they could do.
    • Sounds like you just skimmed over the review, I answer all those questions in it. Although I admit I did not test if DTS works over the headphones, when I get some time I will test this. My personal use case is more speaker-driven (I cover this in the review too).
