I don't really identify with people complaining that playing a solo kinda sucks in a multiplayer game kinda sucks. This game rewards social-organization in PvE, the meta games like AH-control, PvP, even role-players have more fun when they have others to do it with.

"My pug gets stomped by others in WSG! It takes forever to get new bracers" sounds almost identical to "My pug gets stomped by Winterchill in Hyjal! It takes forever to get new bracers".

One thing I do know: queue times suck for everyone. Switch things around and imagine if solo=queue people had to wait longer to play and that would be lame. I don't get any joy from hearing that the game has become worse for some group of people (apart from those breaking the ToS like ebayers, gold sellers, botters, cheaters, etc)

bit of a nooby question but what mods/addons do i need to change the chat log and also the map. Would like to make the log smaller or move it to a diff place, and also do the same with the map, maybe make it square and move to bottom.

Currently use bartender3 or whatever for all the action button arrangements etc

thanks for the link bud

basically i want to move the chat window, dont like where it is placed at the moment, have come accross prat before but again im too inexperienced to use it properly haha. Would rather have it placed slightly lower than where it is.

I also tried a ready made Interface but it went horribly wrong, maybe it is my laptop res 1280x800 :(

Moving a chat window is really simple and doesn't require a mod. Right click the first chat tab, and click Unlock Window. Move it to where you want, then right click and and click lock window.

quality, thanks mate UI looks a lot nicer than before finally i can see more too :D

Hey there,

I'm looking for a VERY descriptive (graphs, charts, spreadsheets) reasoning/guide to Beast Mastery. I've leveled beast mastery and have tried to find all the best/worst things about the spec to fully understand the significance of it all compared to Marksmanship and Survival. I know all the basics and know that BM > MM in PvE and even World PvP, But battle grounds where your pet is more of a kamakazie than a mercenary MM > BM. I also have been taught that high end raiding calls for Survival hunters with 800+ agi (38%-42%) crit. I'm only 66 now, and can hit for over 4k on a crit multishot.

Anyway, any help/links would be good, I've checked out Elitist Jerks and they have a lot of good stuff there.

Thank you,

Thank you,

I would go MM for end game content/raids/even 5-10 mans.

Or maybe survival? Not familiar with survival.

I'd grab a pet turtle/boar to go with MM, as one of the high armor/health pets can offtank/tank potentially for long enough to save a wipe/get you out of trouble.

Especially a turtle with shell shield.

As when you go MM, your pets survival rate drops, so to compensate, you take one of the stronger pets in defence/health.

Of course you can always just go MM, and take an attacking pet and let it chew away on mobs, but IMO end game it's better to have more escape options/backup options as damage will be done by players, not pets.

Well, there's not much to say about beast mastery, it's fairly easy, just follow these guidelines.

Pet: Get either a ravager or a cat. Teach them Bite, Claw and Growl, with Growl being turned on only when farming/grinding. Ravagers dont have Claw, so use Gore for them. Also get Cobra Reflexes, increases your pets attack speed.

Weapon: Always try getting a weapon with a speed between 2,6 and 2,8. Your ranged attack speed should be around 2.05 or lower. (to achieve good steady shot + auto shot rotations)

Shot rotation: Use a macro for firing shots, it's far more efficient. You get to concentrate on more important things (than timing your shots perfectly, without a macro -.-), and your dps WILL increase. You have to spam it though, so it gets boring very quickly.

Unless you're going to PvP, there is no point in being any other spec. Sure, it can be viable, but you wont be able to reach the same dps and will gimp your group/raid. Survival can be good with 800+agi (tried it out myself), but you lose a lot of your personal dps, and will have tons of talents which are useless in a raid. MM is probably the worst raiding spec. It's fine in 5-mans where you can use multishot, but in raids it's useless. It has huge mana issues, and the extra attack power doesn't mean that much, rotations are more complex, and even with perfect timing you can't possibly reach the same dps as Beast mastery.

I've seen tons of hunters who were ignorant and didn't want to spec BM until they reached Black Temple. Why? Because as MM, they noticed that with Black Temple haste gear their dps improved. BM gets 20% haste for free :)

I would go MM for end game content/raids/even 5-10 mans. Or maybe survival? Not familiar with survival.

Until you have access to Tier 6 or better BM is going to be the best spec. Marksman starts closing the gap when you get nearly finished the game. For the most part survival hunters are the equivalent of a 23/38/0 holy priest or retribution paladin: you bring one for the raid buff and that's the end of that.

damage will be done by players, not pets.

A BM hunter's pet should provide about about 10-12% of their total damage on a "spread, run, move, phase-change, holy-crap" fight like Illidan, Leothas, or Mulgore*. On a tank'n'spank like Bloodboil, Tidewalker, or Magtheridon* a properly played pet can contribute nearly 1/5th of a hunter's damage.

I'd grab a pet turtle/boar to go with MM, as one of the high armor/health pets can offtank/tank potentially for long enough to save a wipe/get you out of trouble.

I'm not sure what sort of end-game you're doing but in the stuff I've run a hunter pet isn't going to off-tank anything for longer than it takes a mob's swing-timer to reset. There's even if your pet didn't get one-shot, it's still not tanking anything long enough to matter.

At end game even healers can put out ~2000 threat/second on some fights: pets aren't holding a mob that can burst 40k damage on a 15k armor target long enough to show up in Target of Target.

* Pick the example appropriate to your place in raid progression.

Ok Im sure that all people that play World Of Warcraft have seen the new, advertisement that comes up before you go into wow.. If not when I went to play wow there was an advertisement saying that wow is being brought to the console and will be called World of Warcraft Molten Core... here is a link to it have a look and tell me what you think about it. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/moltencore/

I personally think that if there seriously going to make it and it looks like those screen shots... major flop for Blizzard!!

LOL @ Skinnig a bear would aggro all the bears within 40 yards.

Lame. Once again Blizzard gives welfare epics to keep the commoners happy. Next thing you know, all these goons are going to be running around in the same gear as me and nobody will know I'm super hardcore because their gear is just as good. Casual players don't deserve good gear and they don't deserve to have fun either! Fie on the proletariat! If everyone has epics who stare at my gear when I walk around a major city?

Watch the video where they show the Domo or Shaz fight (hard to say which one): no adds! Also, the defining characteristic of molten core?hours of soul-crushing trash?has been removed. Once again Blizzard nerfs the PvE so that casuals can have their welfare epics. It completely trivializes the weeks of raiding it took me to get Benediction! My virtual accomplishments mean nothing now! Nothing!

I need some help... Problem I have just started a new character Orc warrior level 64 almost 65, when I log on and see him standing there so stock like and ugly. ( so used to playing 70s but it was time for a re-roll).

I though that I had A) been playing the warrior way to much and that I just got board of it or B) I hate to level and new character and only took me till now to figure out how Bull!@$@$ it is to level a new character..

What should I do, any pointers or anything you personally did to keep you leveling when the going got tough?

The thing about wow is that its a grind fest constantly. You first deal with the leveling grind, then once you hit 70 you start the PvP and/or PvE grind.

I know how you feel about warriors, I leveled two. It was the most mindless thing I have ever experienced in a game to date. Then once you hit 70, it pays off by getting 8k execute crits and 6k mortal strike crits.

I would suggest you just sit tight, finish leveling and go from there. Blizzard has made it very easy to get gear these days which is a plus :D.

Got some of my lost items back today.

Poor show though, poor show.

Basically Blizzard just gave me back what was in my bank, not the 60 odd items that were in my bag. I got none of my 900G back either :(

    • Microsoft Weekly: new Surface, Windows 11 26H2, and more by Taras Buria This week's news recap is here, with Microsoft announcing Windows 11 version 26H2, launching new Surface devices powered by Snapdragon X2 processors, GTA VI preorder date and cover art, fresh Windows 11 preview builds, a quirky phone-sized e-reader with a physical dial, and more. Quick links: Windows 10 and 11 Windows Insider Program Updates are available Reviews are in Gaming news Great deals to check Windows 11 and Windows 10 Here, we talk about everything happening around Microsoft's latest operating system in the Stable channel and preview builds: new features, removed features, controversies, bugs, interesting findings, and more. And, of course, you may find a word or two about older versions. Windows 11 version 26H2 is now official. Alongside Windows 11's new preview builds released this week, Microsoft confirmed version 26H2, which is coming later this year as an enablement package based on the same platform as versions 24H2 and 25H2. A newly published blog post details what IT admins should do to prepare for the upcoming launch. Next, we have new Windows 11 bugs. Users report that this month's security updates for Windows 11 cause all sorts of issues, including BitLocker bugs, OneDrive issues, black screens of death, and third-party integration in Office apps. Microsoft has not confirmed those yet, but it acknowledged other issues with its operating system. What Microsoft has confirmed is a bug where Recycle Bin delete prompts display internal file names instead of actual ones, and a year-old Windows JScript compatibility bug caused by security-focused engine changes. Moving to more positive news, Microsoft and Adobe are working on improving Windows performance in popular creative apps like Photoshop. Thanks to SPGO optimizations, users can expect up to 20% better performance. Finally, we have a few useful articles that can help you recover your PC or make it perform better. For one, we published a guide detailing what to do if your computer cannot boot after a clean Windows 11 install. There are two important steps you can try to get your system back to working in no time. Additionally, there is a more detailed guide on various CPU performance modes that could notably improve performance. Windows Insider Program Here is what Microsoft released for Windows Insiders this week: Builds Canary Channel Builds 28120.2315 and 29613.1000 These two builds include a new built-in audio driver, improvements to audio Settings, and more. Dev Channel Builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690 Not much is available here. Some File Explorer improvements, Start menu enhancements, bug fixes, and more. However, build 26300.8697 is now officially marked as version 26H2. Updates are available This section covers software, firmware, and other notable updates (released and coming soon) delivering new features, security fixes, improvements, patches, and more from Microsoft and third parties. This week, Microsoft announced its newest Surface devices powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X2 processors. There is the 12th-gen Surface Pro and the 8th-gen Surface Laptop. Both devices feature little to no visual differences compared to their predecessors from 2024, and most changes hide inside, including a better processor, faster graphics, enhanced NPUs, and more. The Surface Laptop also received a new haptic trackpad. Mozilla is currently working on a major Firefox redesign, and earlier this week, it published a roadmap of upcoming features and highlights of the upcoming "Project Nova" rework. Files, one of the best file managers for Windows 10 and 11, has been updated in the Preview channel with a long-requested feature. Tree View is finally available in version 4.1.4, allowing you to quickly browse deeply nested folders without leaving the main view. In addition, the update improved the Windows Fonts folder, allowing you to preview each font without opening the default viewer. Rufus, another useful Windows 11 utility, also received a notable update. Version 4.15 arrived as beta with important fixes for silent Windows 11 installation. It also includes patches for ARM-based Windows PCs, OneDrive removal improvements, and more. Here are other updates and releases you may find interesting: Microsoft faces shareholder lawsuit over masking AI costs and slowing Azure growth Microsoft now allows you to tweak Visual Studio to new extremes Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users Microsoft fixes one of Excel Copilot's most frustrating limitations Microsoft will finally let you sign in to Edge with a Google account Here are the latest drivers and firmware updates released this week: NVIDIA 610.62 with support for Empulse and various fixes. Reviews are in Here is the hardware and software we reviewed this week Earlier this week, we reviewed the DuRoBo Krono, a portable, phone-sized e-reader with some interesting physical controls. This device has an Apple Watch-like dial for page turning, frontlight adjustment, and more. Software is simple and no-nonsense, but it also lacks some useful features and customization. Overall, the device proved interesting, but not flawless. On the gaming side Learn about upcoming game releases, Xbox rumors, new hardware, software updates, freebies, deals, discounts, and more. Forza Horizon 6 received two big updates this week. Alongside the Series 2 content update, developers pushed plenty of bug fixes and balancing tweaks. However, they also had to acknowledge the Eliminator CR-farming exploit and shut down the online mode temporarily. Luckily, only a few days later, another fix arrived, which re-enabled Eliminator and patched the exploit. Microsoft announced new games for Game Pass subscribers. Those include EA Sports FC 26, Junkster, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Abyssus, RV There Yet?, and more. Some existing games are leaving the catalog, so be sure to check out the full list here. New games are also available for GeForce NOW subscribers, and they include Embers of the Uncrowned Demo, Aphelion, Megastore Simulator, OPERATOR, Citizen Sleeper, and more. Rockstart Games had plenty of GTA-related news this week. For one, the company gave GTA V players another free update. Those still playing the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are no longer required to pay $40 to upgrade to the latest-gen version. More importantly, Rockstar Games revealed the GTA VI cover art and announced the preorder date. The Epic Games Store is giving away two games: Citizen Sleeper and Roboeat. These two titles are up for grabs until next Thursday, but if they are not up to your taste, you can always check out the latest Weekend PC Game Deal issue, which is usually full of discounts and specials that let you save a lot of money on new games.
