Got some of my lost items back today.

Poor show though, poor show.

Basically Blizzard just gave me back what was in my bank, not the 60 odd items that were in my bag. I got none of my 900G back either :(

I'd create a post in the "In-Game Customer Support" and let them know. Various friends / Random Posters have done this, the 'Master GM' looked into it and they were reimbursed lots of their items.

They even said so themselves they have improved the investigation and reimbursement process a lot! And you should get over 90% of your Items back.

So get a post going fast and wait for "Issuntril" i believe, to take a look.

I specced fury for kara today, poped open my character sheet and my jaw drapped in awe at my ap and crit rating..

<snip>

AP, Crit don't mean so much when you can't hit. But nice figures, only if your hit was higher.

But Adam, do you remember what exactly you were rocking to tank Hydros? Frost set? Nature set? Off tank set? I been starting to gather mats, and it looks like just the 3 BSing gear, with glyp on helm, defense on chest (if needed to get me to crit cap), and 30 stm on leg, would be enough with Pally/Hunter buff, but a the Jewelcrafter ring would be nice also. I'm just kinda at a loss. I really don't want to go all out. Want to try to get resistance near 300 unbuffed, but still try to stay uncritable. Any help?

Edited by Slane

I was a frost tank. I had 360 resistance fully buffed and just under the crit cap. Funny enough beeing uncritable for hydross is not really needed. I fought him about a dozen times and he crit me twice out of those. I'll post my gear after im done w/ this kara.

Hey,

Got a question for you guys.

I really want a spellcaster class in WoW, i got 4 level 70's I'm quite happy with but they are mostly melee oriented.

So i decided i want a Mage. The only problem is, i can't be bothered to do 1 -> 70 again the old fashioned way, so i wanted to find an easy alternative.

I got two WoW accounts under my name, so i was thinking of boosting my own mage through various instances, i mean running instances constantly!

I could play the mage for a bit, get the instance quests etc. but then just keep running him through everything from RFC to SM and above, just over and over again.

Question is, do you think this is faster, slower or about the same if i were to level the old fashioned way?

Alright heres what I have

Alright thanks. I know crit capped is dead last on this boss, compared to Resist and EH, but what about adds? Do you need to stay crit capped and have 200ish FR/NR?

Wow the new heroic badge vendor was a scene of mayhem on my server when it opened last night. Managed to pick myself up a new ring and the caster dagger. And did my 5th Heroic Magisters Terrace and finally picked up the shoulders, but i also got the gloves and timbals trinket (not that it helps me much being a frost mage, but the other caster in the group already had it and we had no DE so i got it) all in one run, which wasn't too bad.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...e&n=Alyonos A bit more spell hit and get my crit rating back up and i will be set. I just respecced from Arcane frost to deep frost last night and i am loving the new spec a lot more now.

My guild went back into BT for the second time last night to have a go at Supremeus (Damn this guy is huge). After a few wipes on the volcanoes we got him on our third go and made our way to shade of akama and had one attempt before we called it due to the time.

Now i just have to grind another 75 badges to buy the new badge boots, (unless i get something better in the mean time) and the Battlemasters Audicity for when i PVP as well.

EDIT: Does anyone remember the link to that site that scan your gear online and check your enchants and gems and such?

My guild went back into BT for the second time last night to have a go at Supremeus (Damn this guy is huge).

lol I know you mean.. We were working on Sunwell the entire week after 2.4 came out and didn't actually go back into BT until this past week.. I mean we all heard that he was huge now, but wow..when we came out of the tunnel into his room, and you could see he was bigger than the mountain behind him. I just hate the fact that now that he is as big as the entire instance, his targeting circle is still as small as a gnomes.. hehe

I've gave up on raiding, too much drama involved to play a damn game.

Sometimes I feel like that myself, but honestly I have no idea what I would do if I quit raiding.. I mean I don't run 5 mans, I don't do dailys, and I really don't do pvp much....

Well right now, me and 2 other friends created are own guild, just so we don't have to party up everytime were online and continue talking. The old guild leader is all ****ed at us (3 tanks, 1 healer all left) thinks were going to try to raid (which we aren't) but we might try just to **** him off even more (i hate drama yet I can't help but cause it against certain people). So we might do that, as I'm going to keep trying to do Kara to get badges and shoulders from Spite.

Otherwise I'll keep doing my dailies and leveling alts. 4 70's all parked on new island once we hit phase 4, going to bring in some easy gold.

Ya...tell me about it. I have quit WoW maybe 5 times now and 3 of those times were because of guild drama. The game just got annoying to play. This time I came back and I promised myself I would not raid. I would only PvP (BGs) and do dailies/heroics. Not even going to bother doing Arenas. The entire elitist attitude of the community is overbearing and can really make the game very depressing. Sucks when you come to play the game to escape from reality once in a while.

I play in two guilds: one is casual but progression oriented (read: T6 is done, but we're not ready for sunwell) - somehow I ended up as "king of healers" (handling assignments during raids, priest class leader). I have maybe half-a-dozen real-life friends in the guild as do most other people. I'd guess about 1/3 of the 'main' members are connected by friends of friends in real life and the rest are long-term in-game acquaintances.

My alt lives in a super-causual 'who cares' guild made up of people that have all at least had a beer with most of the other members. It doesn't recruit outside of "Hey, invite Sean - You, Tim, and I used to work with him at CM about 5 years ago." There's no forums: just a text message or twitter message from someone saying "hey, anyone want to run kara/za tonight?". There's no DKP or loot council - everyone just sort of knows who needs what and then they get it.

I suppose if I were to quit raiding I'd transfer my priest to the alt-guild and be done with it. You don't need elitism or drama to progress or to have fun.

That's what I keep coming across Evn. Can't find a guild like what you describe or what I always hear about it, think they just don't exsist on my server.

Sucks, but I got a few friends the same way, so going to see if they just want to have 10 of us in there with alts and just do Kara. I don't have a problem with Kara, it's fun and something to do. Would love to get back into TK/SSC and progress further but there hearthache and headaches aren't worth it.

When I started my new toon, I made a guild along with it. Its got about 30 members now heaps left as we were leveling there all random people, but I have about 4 real life mates that are going to be joining, and I have come to no alot of the randoms that have join...

We are starting to do kara within the next couple of weeks which will be totaly awesome!! I have raided all the way up to TK and no every fight of by heart so im wondering how its going to go down, im aiming to take this guild up to TK but thats along way of :pinch: ..

Anyone have any advice for having a guild and leading in raids?

For running a guild, be fair to everyone and weed at drama queens. Don't give priority to anybody, regardless if game friend or RL friend.

Raid leading, make sure everyone has right addon's, make sure people have at least read up on fight. Make sure you give precise, clear, instruction for trash and bosses. And be fair if you do a "Loot Council" system, once again no favorites.

Golf, if you don't mind me asking who is Chester?

    • The quantum search for Time's origin had an equally mind-boggling conclusion by Sayan Sen Image by Steve Johnson via Pexels A theoretical study from researchers at the University of Surrey suggested that the direction of time may not be fundamentally fixed in certain quantum systems. The work, published in Scientific Reports, examined how the “arrow of time” could emerge from microscopic physics and found that time-reversal symmetry can remain intact even in models used to describe processes such as energy loss and thermalisation. The arrow of time refers to the observed one-way direction from past to future in everyday life. In macroscopic processes, this is easy to see. Spilled milk spreads across a table and does not gather back into a glass, and heat flows from hotter objects to colder ones. These processes shape the common sense idea that time moves in a single direction. However, at the level of fundamental physics, many equations do not prefer a direction of time. Time-reversal symmetry means that the same physical laws can describe a system whether time moves forward or backward. This has made it difficult to explain why irreversible behaviour appears in the large-scale world even when the underlying rules do not require it. Dr Andrea Rocco, Associate Professor in Physics and Mathematical Biology at the University of Surrey, described this contrast: "One way to explain this is when you look at a process like spilt milk spreading across a table, it's clear that time is moving forward. But if you were to play that in reverse, like a movie, you'd immediately know something was wrong – it would be hard to believe milk could just gather back into a glass. However, there are processes, such as the motion of a pendulum, that look just as believable in reverse. The puzzle is that, at the most fundamental level, the laws of physics resemble the pendulum; they do not account for irreversible processes. Our findings suggest that while our common experience tells us that time only moves one way, we are just unaware that the opposite direction would have been equally possible." The study focused on open quantum systems, which are quantum systems that interact with a surrounding environment. This environment, often described as a heat bath, can exchange energy and information with the system. The researchers used this framework to study how a direction of time might appear even when the underlying physics does not enforce one. A key part of the analysis involved the Markov approximation. This is a simplification used in many models where the system is assumed not to retain memory of its past states. The idea is that changes depend only on the current state, not on earlier history. This is commonly used when studying thermalisation, which is the process where a system settles into equilibrium with its environment. The study also used concepts such as master equations, including the Lindblad and Pauli equations, which describe how probabilities of different quantum states change over time. Another related model discussed was quantum Brownian motion, which describes the random-like movement of a quantum particle interacting continuously with its environment. In these descriptions, a “memory kernel” can appear, which is a mathematical term that accounts for how past states influence current behaviour. The researchers found that applying the Markov approximation did not break time-reversal symmetry. Even when the system interacted with an effectively infinite heat bath, the resulting equations of motion remained symmetric in time. This meant that the same mathematical description could, in principle, run forward or backward in time without contradiction. The study further showed that standard frameworks used in open quantum systems, including quantum Brownian motion and master equations like the Lindblad and Pauli forms, could be written in a time-symmetric way. These equations are typically used to describe processes that look irreversible, such as dissipation and thermalisation, but the results suggested they can also be interpreted as allowing evolution in both time directions. Thomas Guff, Research Fellow in Quantum Thermodynamics, said: "The surprising part of this project was that even after making the standard simplifying assumption to our equations describing open quantum systems, the equations still behaved the same way whether the system was moving forwards or backwards in time. When we carefully worked through the maths, we found that this behaviour had to be the case because a key part of the equation, the "memory kernel," is symmetrical in time. We also found a small but important detail which is usually overlooked – a time discontinuous factor emerged that kept the time-symmetry property intact. It’s unusual to see such a mathematical mechanism in a physics equation because it's not continuous, and it was very surprising to see it appear so naturally." The researchers also noted that deriving a one-way arrow of time from time-reversal symmetric microscopic dynamics remains an open problem across fields such as thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, particle physics, and cosmology. Their results suggested that some standard descriptions of irreversible behaviour in open quantum systems may be better understood using a time-symmetric formulation of Markovianity. According to the study, processes such as thermalisation, which are usually treated as irreversible, could in theory be described in a way that allows evolution in either time direction under the same rules. This does not imply that time reversal occurs in everyday life, but rather that the underlying equations do not strictly enforce a single direction. Overall, the findings suggested that the perceived direction of time may emerge from how physical systems are modelled and approximated, rather than from a fundamental asymmetry in the laws themselves. The researchers noted that this perspective could have implications for ongoing work in quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and cosmology on the origin of time’s arrow.
