Sorry about your dog. :(

But on the gearing tank first. I belive the MT should always be geared first, getting first priority on tanking gear and Tier tokens. As your progress a tank will be the most beneficial to geared out. When I MT and OT I always thought the "guild" MT should be geared first, as long as it's someone who will be there for 95% of raids and always willingly to spend gold for repairs and wipes. If your only going to be casual and Kara will the most you do for months upon months, then I really wouldn't worry about it to much.

Bullet points:

  • Friends or progression: pick one and stick to it because having both is impossible. If you find someone that cannot avoid Shattering 3-4 people or that goes AFK on trash would you let them come back week after week even if they're someone you've played with for years? It doesn't really matter which way you go, but consistency is the key to keeping the raid force motivated. You can't invite your friends that screw up daily and still kick the unpopular guy that makes a single mistake - consistency matters.
  • Pick a loot system - it doesn't matter what, and stick to it once everyone accepts the terms.
  • Gear your tank first if you're progression focused but not if you're just in it to hang out with friends. If progression isn't your primary goal then there are probably dozens of things that will benefit you more than an extra 200 armor and 500 HP on your tank.
  • As of 2.4 Magtheridon is easier, faster, and drops more loot than Gruul or HKM
  • There is no fight that isn't made easier by having more DPS.
  • Every progression-focused guild needs someone that can read a WWS parse and figure out why things go wrong.
  • A guild bank becomes more useful the more people have access to deposit and withdraw.

thanks for that Evn, seriously some great advice and pointers there that I will be taking into great consideration.

I have thought about what I was going to use for DKP or 25man loot, was probably just going to be a /roll. Since I do not have a website, but I will probably get one up and running soon enough. When I get to the stage of using DKP the loot will be handed out as Primary class rolls first for the class that the item is set for, then if no one needs it then it will be available for secondary class or off spec's.

" Every progression-focused guild needs someone that can read a WWS parse and figure out why things go wrong. " what is WWS parse, and iam guessing that this is a job for the GM, being myself in this instances.

As I have worked out is that I have real life mates that will be joining the guild, and some of them are not the best players and I have explained to them if there not pulling there weight there out, so I have that down set and explained many times that I want to progress and that I will not be taking favor to them just because the know me. Thats really not being fair to the other people in the raid.

Anyone have any comments/opinions on getting the Gladiators set at 70?

I'm only 68 right now (Hunter) but I have 2 of the pieces (head and chest) and I also have the marks for 2 more pieces, just need the honor points. I dove head first into getting them, and have been told they are comparable to t4 gear, which is right where my guild just finished farming. The plan is to have an epic set to toss on as soon as I hit 70. I know that it IS a PvP set, but how does it match up against some hunter PvE sets, Demon Stalker ie.

Also, for Raiding is it alright? I am going to have to get trinkets and other things aswell, but unintentionally never looked at the other armor merchant that "sells" Vindicator pieces.

My guild raids 5 nights a week, Kara on farm for newer raiders, and currently downing bosses in TK and SSC so getting gear really shouldn't be a problem, but still, curious.

Thank you.

WWS is wow web stats, most big guilds use it, it tracks everything done, via combat log and parses it per player.

Here is one of ours, from bloodboil, RoS and Mother in BT. http://wowwebstats.com/njlnpegzndey5

As you can see it shows each person and how much dmg they did.. If you click on each you can find out what each person cast, and when. Its an extremely useful tool. Also if you highlight full report, you can change it to each pull or downing and look at that.

We use this every raid, and post them at the end of the raid in a thread on our forums for the entire guild to see and compare.

Right now we are trying to prepare for Brutalis, so our total raid dps needs to be at 29k. SO we are really looking at some of our fights (like Gorefiend) to see where we stand on total dps.

Well keep in mind that Season4 pvp sets are going to be out VERY soon. When that happens they are getting rid of S1 "Gladiators" and replacing it with Season2 stuff. So honestly I would save your honor/tokens until S4 comes out and buy S2 instead.

But if your talking about raiding then S1 isn't better than T4 for raiding. Both have their own seperate purposes with seperate stats. Having a ton of resil in PVE does nothing.

Actually, that's not true for all classes. If you plan on going feral as a druid some of the pvp gear is really good. Resilience definitely helps against crits considering druids don't have many of the same stats as warriors. But I am sure gladiators is better than blues/greens.

But in terms of S1 vs S2, I thought they already pushed out S2 to honor and removed S1. Might as well get S2. You have the honor and there is nothing else better out there. Also I normally get weapons before armor at least for dps classes.

Yeah, I already have spent the time on S1 stuff, so I may as well just finish it and work on S2 or even start on getting Arena points.

BTW; Is there any theory-crafting on raising Atk pwr (hunters/rogues{especially rogues}/feral druids) for arena and purposely straying from resilience? The idea is that instead of all the people trying to reduce crit chance/crit damage (done to them) by having high resil, but if a dps class just focuses on doing high white damage, and not criting at all(well some..but..), it would make the opponent's resil efforts obsolete?

Season 2 still costs Arena points. Season 4 doesn't have a set date, soon belive soon, some say further off. I'm leaning to the later, I think we might see Season 4 before WotLK but I'm not expecting it.

@IanPete: Some PvP gear is fine, I've used the shield to have higher stam and the resilence helps warrs, pallies, druids get to crit capped when defense is lower but for other classes, much like Smeltn said resilence is useless. The main thing is as a hunter you want to make sure you have at least 8k health (i think for aran) and you have as much hit rating as you can. This all depends on your spec how much hit, crit, ap you should have (it varies from BM to Marks to Surv). I've raided with hunters in full Arena/PvP gear who did great DPS, and raided with others whose DPS was all over the place, in my experience the hunters in full Arean/PvP DPS was inconsistent, but on the other hand the hunters in PvE gear had a consistent DPS throughout the entire raid.

I had a hunter, when I was in my pvp set I had about 50 HR ( hit rating ) when I was in my pve gear my HR was around 150 - 171, I seriously do not recommend using the pvp glad gear or and pvp gear for pve content if I was you. Try and get more pve gear for pve obviliosly instead of using your pvp gear for pve content.

I no the pvp gear gives of alot of crit and ap but you really need the HR for when your doing pve, and a hunter needs atlest 110+ in my opion.

So how do most people level to 60 alliance side? It has been a while since I managed to get a char to level 25 and not get bored of it. I think I will be taking this druid to 60....

Currently I am doing duskwood + wetlands and I am level 27. I like to leave STV till 35+ since that's a good way to nail 35-41ish. Not sure what I am going to do from 30-35 considering I will finish duskwood and wetlands by 30.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hey there, I have leveled two alliance characters and found that ally is a lot easyer to level then a horde toon ( which I play now )..

At your current level of 27, you want to be working your way around wetlands until about 29, then aim to go to darkshire at 29 till about 32 - 33 ( do some instnaces in between to get you even more exp then you need just to get you closer to the level that I find best for STV ). Once you get into STV quest there till about 36ish then head to Arathi Highlands till about 37 - 38, then head back to STV for the lower half. Once your there try and get till 40 by doing lower STV and instnaces like RFD and SM. Once at about 40 ( if you can try and get 42 aleast ) head down to Tanaris, which should get you till about 49 or even 50 if you do every quest and do ZF runs, then I would head of to Un goro that gets you alot of exp in a really short amount of time.

Once you have done everything in Un'goro head of to Fel wood or Winter spring and do all the lower half of the quests you should be aiming for about 52 - 53 when you hit here. I try to avoid WPL and EPL ( I hate those places ). If you run out of quests or they start turning orange and red, head over to the other island and start doing WPL and EPL this is where you will spend the last part of your encounter leveling ( that is if you do not have TBC installed ).

I hope this helped abit, I no that it is abit vague but it should help alot. ( I hope anyway ). Good luck :D

Grats Evn!

Badge vendor is 2% away and a crowd has already formed. So i took advantage and stood close (not on top) of her, and sure enough within 10 minutes had about 10 hordes all die due to guards. Funny. Then the alliance start bitching, about all the horde and alliance standing there. It's surprising people don't know about CTRL + V and right clicking on health bar.

Dustwallow Marsh, there's a load of new quests and new style items which make 30-40 go by much more quickly than it used to.

Congratulations - you're an ass. It's a shame we're not on the same server so I could beat you through the ground like I did with the funny guys who did that at Quel' - they weren't quite so tough after a few dozen deaths and a log off + whine at forums.

lol. I would have sat there laughing, as you took a continous durability death due to guards, while nothing happened to me. Sitting on a mount naked, nothing for me to worry about. And besides, CTRL + V makes it super easy to find and open up vendor. Sounds like you would be the one on the forums. QQ moar plz.

servers have been complete ass for the last 3 days. Bg servers dying, crap not working.... I hope they figure something out because no 1 can do arenas lol

Yes they were. Was doing an Underbog run, on Ghaz in like 30 minutes, just kicking ass and taking names and server crashes us, wiping us. :( Had to wait like 10 minutes for everyone to log back on and continue.

So is anyone horde side looking for a tank? Looking for a guild in Hyjal/BT. I'm BT attuned, not Hyjal tho(need kael vial). I have 2/5 T5 and I really feel Im ready for the true endgame stuff. My old guild is falling apart somewhat and all the other guilds dont need tanks.

    • >defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool It is not. It is the inhuman artist replacement. The human writing the prompt is the employer/manager requesting the work product of the artist -- a supervisory/descriptive job that doesn't carry with it any rights to the copyright of that work product at all. And since AI is not human itself, it can't gain copyright for anything it is asked to regurgitate or hallucinate, so it can't transfer that copyright to the employer/manager/human who asked for the output. This was all legally reaffirmed last year. So, no, while there are AI tools, AI slopware generation is NOT a "tool" in the legal definition of that word.

    • Google is opening the world's first AI museum in Los Angeles by Ivan Jenic Image via: Google Ever since AI image generators went mainstream, the debate over whether AI-generated art is real art hasn't let up. Those who don’t consider AI to be art say that if a machine does the creating and anyone can prompt it, there’s no skill involved, and therefore no art is produced. The counter-argument is equally persistent, as defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool, and that every major technological breakthrough, like the camera or the computer, was met with the same skepticism before eventually being accepted as a legitimate creative medium. Google’s position in this debate is clear. Which is no surprise, as the company is investing billions in AI infrastructure. And now, in efforts to encourage people to use its AI even more, Google is opening Dataland on June 20, which it's calling the world's first AI arts museum. Located inside The Grand LA, a Frank Gehry-designed building in Los Angeles, the museum spans 25,000 square feet. The museum is built around a collaboration with media artist Refik Anadol, who has worked with Google since 2016. The inaugural exhibition is called Machine Dreams: Rainforest, and is powered by an AI model trained on “an extensive dataset of the natural world.” It generates 1.2 billion pixels of visuals in real time and reacts to visitors dynamically. The space also generates soundscapes, real-time emotion sensing, and algorithmically produced scents. Image via: Refik Anadol Studio / Google Google says that the museum is powered by its Gemini models, which run on Google Cloud. So, everything is generated inside one of Google’s AI data centers and is streamed to the museum. Alongside the museum opening, Google Arts & Culture is funding an AI Artist Residency, giving four artists $25,000 grants each, along with mentorship from Refik Anadol Studio and access to Google's machine learning tools. Their work will be shown at Dataland and on the Google Arts & Culture website later this year. Google’s AI museum will undoubtedly initiate a fired-up debate on social media, and we can’t wait to see the first reactions. Via: Smithsonian Magazine
    • Calling GTA 6 overhyped crap doesn’t make you edgy, it just makes you sound like someone who hasn’t enjoyed anything since the PS2 era.
    • I’m not arguing whether Rockstar likes money. Obviously, they do, they’re a business. I’m saying this isn’t new. They’ve always launched console first. This is just how Rockstar operates.
