Nice man. Tonight is a Hyjal main/alt run. Friday is a full clear of BT, with Saturday-Monday being SWP. I know we will get Kal/Brut down Saturday. I think Felmyst will take us Saturday/Sunday, I know we will have no trouble dps'in down M'uru in either phase nor have problems controlling adds in P1. So only hard fight I see left for us is Eredar twins. I doubt we will get past twins though, rest of the guild is staying optimistic.

Good luck in the place. If you can get to twins you can do kil'jaeden: he shouldn't take more than a day to learn.

There's certainly enough time left before wrath to kill him (yea the zone is really that easy) so I hope you get the achievement.

Nice UI +the evn show

Thanks.

I am still going to keep up with this thread and fuss at you evn

<3

My guild disbanded and a handful of the raiders merged up with "good" players from the other 'good' guilds.

A bunch of re-rolls from the best guild on our server (alliance side, died on pre-nerf m'uru) and some people from a few of

the top-50 guilds on Wowjutsu. It's certainly a great group of people and I'm hopeful we'll be able to progress without dedicating our lives to it. A lot of people who didn't get invited are understandably ****ed off: it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out over the next couple months.

One more week to go...

I had vacation scheduled to start on the 17th. I've got a week to level (and be lazy around my house) and then I'm spending 10-days at a resort in mexico: great way to recover from the 70-80 grind IMO.

woooo

3 more days lol

going to the midnight release at EB Games with my fiancee to pick up our CE

gonna spend the next couple days finishing (but not handing in) all the quests i never did in netherstorm lol

so as soon as LK comes out hand all that in to get a nice boost

Took a year, but I finally won a drawing.

20081111-kwa5xt8ntgkyp64pwdp6pcn1fb.jpg

Originally I wanted 5/5 Avatar with Belt/Boots of the Long Road and Staff of Immaculate Recovery

but never managed to win a chest from Kael.

Ended up going with 6/8 Absolution & Belt of Divine Guidance/Boots of Divine Light because the other

two set pieces don't match (they're intended to go with the Sunwell off-set stuff). I dug out Anathema

because it remains the coolest staff in the game. I'm not a fan of the Sunwell art style and I didn't

manage to win shoulders from Twins either.

I'll post pictures when it finally shows up.

If you want to install WotLK early and not have to wait until you have the DVD

Simply follow this link: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/dow.../InstallWoW.exe

Run InstallWoW.exe.

Select the last option for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Litch King.

Voila. You are now downloading and installing the expansion so you will be the first one in on the 13th.

*Note: I have done this and you can still log-in and play even if you still have Burning Crusade active on your account. File download size is 1.9GB. This will also reset your WoW back to 3.01, so you will need to re-patch back up to 3.03.

How could anyone even find that? I can't even access any wow page atm.

Have you done this? And if so, does it cache the installer files somewhere where I can back them up to use later, or does it just directly install? Because I'd LOVELOVELOVE to have the entire thing tucked away in a folder on an external drive instead of shuffling disks or having a bunch of separate installers for each release.

To answer - yes, I have done it this morning. :)

Also, it saves the ENTIRE installation DVD to your desktop. But ... it does install at the same time, so it will install into your WoW folder while also downloading the expansion to your desktop.

Good luck getting into the server when people start getting their copies of wotlk! gonna be hell on the 1st few days. im gonna wait for a bit until everything dies down a bit.

Oh come, it's not going to be that bad. Me and my friend started a BE on day one of TBC release and on Illidan which is one of the most crowded PVP servers. We never really had a problem getting in or leveling.

Does anyone know for sure if WotLK activation will turn on at 12:01AM EST or before? Keep seeing people saying this but never solid proof.

There was a Blue post on the official forums saying it was going to be up at 9:00pm EST or 6:00pm PDT. Can't link it right now due to their forums being offline.

Sweet, thanks for the info! :)

The installer linked above is on a certain torrent site full of pirates. :p 7.8GB. Tons of seeders and leechers. Leaving mine on all night, install tommorow, so I just gotta put in key and ready to go. :)

Are you sure that's legit? The installer I linked is 1MB and is just a launcher to Blizzards servers to download WoW, BC, and WotLK. :|

Ya it's what you linked installs. Here's a filefront link to it, can't connect to internet, so figure something up with Blizzard's servers. They suppose to be up at 10 or so, so I'll try again later tonigh.

Oooh I get it. It's just everything. lol.

Can upgrade your account assuming you got your copy early with the key. Now if I can only go ahead and get LK installed, and when I come home from Gamestop just enter in my code and I'll be g2g.

Appears realms are slowly coming up.

    • The quantum search for Time's origin had an equally mind-boggling conclusion by Sayan Sen Image by Steve Johnson via Pexels A theoretical study from researchers at the University of Surrey suggested that the direction of time may not be fundamentally fixed in certain quantum systems. The work, published in Scientific Reports, examined how the “arrow of time” could emerge from microscopic physics and found that time-reversal symmetry can remain intact even in models used to describe processes such as energy loss and thermalisation. The arrow of time refers to the observed one-way direction from past to future in everyday life. In macroscopic processes, this is easy to see. Spilled milk spreads across a table and does not gather back into a glass, and heat flows from hotter objects to colder ones. These processes shape the common sense idea that time moves in a single direction. However, at the level of fundamental physics, many equations do not prefer a direction of time. Time-reversal symmetry means that the same physical laws can describe a system whether time moves forward or backward. This has made it difficult to explain why irreversible behaviour appears in the large-scale world even when the underlying rules do not require it. Dr Andrea Rocco, Associate Professor in Physics and Mathematical Biology at the University of Surrey, described this contrast: "One way to explain this is when you look at a process like spilt milk spreading across a table, it's clear that time is moving forward. But if you were to play that in reverse, like a movie, you'd immediately know something was wrong – it would be hard to believe milk could just gather back into a glass. However, there are processes, such as the motion of a pendulum, that look just as believable in reverse. The puzzle is that, at the most fundamental level, the laws of physics resemble the pendulum; they do not account for irreversible processes. Our findings suggest that while our common experience tells us that time only moves one way, we are just unaware that the opposite direction would have been equally possible." The study focused on open quantum systems, which are quantum systems that interact with a surrounding environment. This environment, often described as a heat bath, can exchange energy and information with the system. The researchers used this framework to study how a direction of time might appear even when the underlying physics does not enforce one. A key part of the analysis involved the Markov approximation. This is a simplification used in many models where the system is assumed not to retain memory of its past states. The idea is that changes depend only on the current state, not on earlier history. This is commonly used when studying thermalisation, which is the process where a system settles into equilibrium with its environment. The study also used concepts such as master equations, including the Lindblad and Pauli equations, which describe how probabilities of different quantum states change over time. Another related model discussed was quantum Brownian motion, which describes the random-like movement of a quantum particle interacting continuously with its environment. In these descriptions, a “memory kernel” can appear, which is a mathematical term that accounts for how past states influence current behaviour. The researchers found that applying the Markov approximation did not break time-reversal symmetry. Even when the system interacted with an effectively infinite heat bath, the resulting equations of motion remained symmetric in time. This meant that the same mathematical description could, in principle, run forward or backward in time without contradiction. The study further showed that standard frameworks used in open quantum systems, including quantum Brownian motion and master equations like the Lindblad and Pauli forms, could be written in a time-symmetric way. These equations are typically used to describe processes that look irreversible, such as dissipation and thermalisation, but the results suggested they can also be interpreted as allowing evolution in both time directions. Thomas Guff, Research Fellow in Quantum Thermodynamics, said: "The surprising part of this project was that even after making the standard simplifying assumption to our equations describing open quantum systems, the equations still behaved the same way whether the system was moving forwards or backwards in time. When we carefully worked through the maths, we found that this behaviour had to be the case because a key part of the equation, the "memory kernel," is symmetrical in time. We also found a small but important detail which is usually overlooked – a time discontinuous factor emerged that kept the time-symmetry property intact. It’s unusual to see such a mathematical mechanism in a physics equation because it's not continuous, and it was very surprising to see it appear so naturally." The researchers also noted that deriving a one-way arrow of time from time-reversal symmetric microscopic dynamics remains an open problem across fields such as thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, particle physics, and cosmology. Their results suggested that some standard descriptions of irreversible behaviour in open quantum systems may be better understood using a time-symmetric formulation of Markovianity. According to the study, processes such as thermalisation, which are usually treated as irreversible, could in theory be described in a way that allows evolution in either time direction under the same rules. This does not imply that time reversal occurs in everyday life, but rather that the underlying equations do not strictly enforce a single direction. Overall, the findings suggested that the perceived direction of time may emerge from how physical systems are modelled and approximated, rather than from a fundamental asymmetry in the laws themselves. The researchers noted that this perspective could have implications for ongoing work in quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and cosmology on the origin of time’s arrow.
