Can anyone tell me if my guy is looking decent yet?

Level as combat till 60, then shift to mutilate :). Anyway you might want a higher hitting MH (slow) and a faster OH. Leveled a rogue till 73 (got bored), know almost everything there is to know so if you need any help just PM me :).

Thanks for the tip on MH and OH swords!

Currently filling the combat tree, and dinged 40 lastnight :)

Addons: Classtimer very useful as a mage.

Regarding your toon, drop imp water elemental. It's fairly useless when soloing. Max out brain freeze and it'll save you mana as well as help you kill things faster. Some of your gear is f-ing awful if I'm being honest. Are you completing EVERY quest in the zone? Some items are amazing if you take the time to do the entire quest chain (The trinket from Hellfire Pen if I remember is given from doing the 1st quest chain all the way to the end, takes a while but it's worth it).

i think that questhelper is really cool and all however i think that if you are playing on your main character that you should not use it so that you are getting the real essence of the game if you are playing and alt and have already done these quests and simply cannot remember then i can see it being alright to use it. cause you have already done the quest to get the experience of figuring it out.

if you are using quest helper you are not questing you are simply walking from point A to point B

well you still have to do the actual quests.. You have to read the quest and kill x amount of mobs, all it does is show you exactly where to go to actually do the quest, and where the npc is to turn the quest back in.

As I have tried wow about a year ago, I founf running around looking to find mobs/whatever for a quest very tedious and left the game. Now that I'm back I use questhelper, I found this very useful. It doesn't do everything but takes you to the right area. I was going to try the leveling guide, but decided to just use questhealper and do evey worthwhile quest around. It has helped me enjoy the game.

You could use tomtom and lighthead and get the cords, but questhelper is far superior.

quit last night, the game is becoming less fun to play more and more, I liked it in TBC but i think Wrath has been a bodged up job, Sent my friend loads of stuff (2K gold, a belt from nax which he sold for 2K, 10 Arctic furs, lots of dream shards, basically tonnes of stuff that amounts to around 8k) He was buzzin.

Maybe one day i may come back to have a dabble when or if they make it fun to play again.

I found an addon last night that I absolutely want to hug the creator for making.

I got SICK and FREAKING tired of hearing "YOUR GUNNA RIP HER HEAD OFF" "I WONDER IF SHE CAN SWIM" .. etc etc etc.. in Stormwind.

All CORKIT!, does is mute unimportant NPC chatter.

Stormwind is now pin-drop quiet.

Yeah been there done that :p. Currently I'm taking a 3-4 month break and then will get back to it. Got sick and tired of leveling my rogue and then quit :p.

I think the exact opposite. I hated TBC...the clown colors of the armor, the spaceships, spacegoats, and effeminate elves. The whole thing reaked of something thrown together to appeal to Naruto-loving 12 year olds. I wish Blizz would have leap-frogged TBC and gone straight to Northrend with their first expansion. TBC is just waaay too Sci-fi for me.

Besides, people act like this game was ever difficult.

^The PvP aspect is. Anyway I loved TBC! I loved the rogue T6 for some odd reason .

PVP in WoW is a joke. There are much better alternatives out there if someone is into PVP.

Don't get me wrong, I love WoW like no other game out there, but I think Blizzard stumbled when they went on this e-sport tangent. Lich King maybe be even easier content-wise, but it's a damn good expansion, from an overall perspective. PVE is my main interest, I never got into the whole ring-around-the-pillar PVP in a box thing. Wintergrasp is rather fun though.

I love TBC so far. It's clear that the higher level you are, the better the environments and mobs look. It's just so vast and beautiful and the mobs are so creative. The ambient sounds are chilling too. I can hear these weird things clicking and chirping way off and it echoes throug the 40 foot tall muchrooms fields, it is awesome.

Get rid of my Water Elemental? I honestly can't picture solo'ing without it. I can't name how many times it has saved my life when attacked by 5 mobs. Summon it, blast em, takes the aggro. Or when I need to beat a tough boss for a quest, he does about 500 damage a hit while I'm doing about 1000.

Eww, I really thought Wintergrasp was utter crap. Arena is where its all at! You have to give that a go :p.

Really considering starting playing again but seeing as how I sold my account last time I stopped, I'd have to start from square one. I just can't be arsed with the 1-60 leveling, they've added SO many things to make it easier from 1-60, can't they allow us to create a level 60 character from the get-go :p A man can dream, can't he?

Is there any other way of downloading WoW without it's installer?

Its taking ages downloading 6GB but don't want to cancel it since I have already downloaded over 2GB.

If you cancel, it will only cancel the install portion. It will keep whatever you've downloaded and resume where you left off when you start the installer again.

Okay, i need assistance here :(...

Im having tons of troubles getting WoW to update torugh 3.0.8 (its a big pain in the ass for a lot of people too...).

I need to try something, but for that, i .app from 3.0.9..., could anyone upload .app (Launcher and Game) somewhere please? they arent big files nor contain any secret data, but itll help me a loooot...

Hope someone has access to them and can be kind enough to Upload them somewhere, i would really, really appreciate it.

On topic..., i want 3.1..., im really bored of Naxx and Maly, only fun thing this days is doing Sarth 2D which we havent mastered yet...

Can't you use the repair utility? I don't know if that would cause them to download or what.

I was just reading 3.1 info on WoWWiki. Dual class specs sounds awesome. I'd love to try out unholy on my DK, but I just don't feel like having to go back and respec every time. Or if I want to have a tanking build that I could use if I'm in a group that needs a tank (since DPSers are far more abundant). I'm really excited about it just for that. Too bad there's no release timeline yet.

    • As I've been usually saying lately - we all can thank "AI" for this.
    • Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. My Windows11 device on the Preview Channel just got 26220.8728. My guess is this build is a nightly update from 26220.8690.
    • Traffic has a surprisingly unexpected impact on your surroundings by Sayan Sen Image by Radik 2707 via Pexels A collaborative study by researchers from several Israeli institutions found that everyday pollution from traffic and industrial activity measurably changed the atmospheric electric field over the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, providing new evidence of how human activity can influence the lower atmosphere. The research was led by Dr. Roy Yaniv of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Gertner Institute at Sheba Medical Center, Dr. Assaf Hochman of the Fredy & Nadine Herrmann Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University, and Prof. Yoav Yair of Reichman University. The study also involved Itay Froomer, a student from Hadera High School and the Israeli Museum of Medicine and Science (Technoda), who carried out the work as part of the Ministry of Education's 5-unit physics research track. The researchers focused on the atmospheric electric field under fair-weather conditions. Even in the absence of storms, a weak electric field naturally exists between Earth's surface and the atmosphere. One of the main ways scientists measure this field is through the Potential Gradient (PG), which is the inverse of the vertical component of the electric field. PG is a key part of the global electric circuit, a planet-wide system of electrical currents maintained by thunderstorms and electrified clouds around the world. Scientists have long known that the atmospheric electric field can be influenced by factors ranging from large-scale atmospheric processes to local weather conditions such as dust, fog and clouds. Human-made pollution is also known to play a role, but understanding exactly how urban emissions affect the electric field close to the ground has remained an area of ongoing research. To investigate this relationship, the team analyzed measurements from a newly installed electric field mill, an instrument used to continuously monitor the strength of the atmospheric electric field. The instrument was installed at the Center for Technological Education (Roter House) in Holon and became operational in August 2024. It was funded by Israel's Ministry of Education and the Holon municipality. The electric field mill forms part of a broader monitoring network that includes nearby meteorological stations and air-quality monitoring sites. This allowed researchers to compare electric field measurements with detailed weather data and pollution records to better understand what was driving changes in the Potential Gradient. The study focused on two major urban pollutants: fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), both commonly produced by vehicle traffic and industrial activity. PM2.5 refers to microscopic airborne particles small enough to remain suspended in the atmosphere for extended periods, while NOx is a group of gases released during fuel combustion. Researchers examined daily, weekly and seasonal patterns in the atmospheric electric field and compared them with changes in pollutant concentrations. Their analysis revealed a clear relationship between NOx levels and changes in the Potential Gradient, particularly during morning and evening rush hours when traffic emissions were at their highest. “What we observe is a direct physical link between emission peaks and electrical variability,” explained Dr. Roy Yaniv. “NOx reduces atmospheric conductivity very quickly, so the electric field responds almost instantaneously during traffic rush hours.” Atmospheric conductivity describes how easily electrical charges move through the air. According to the researchers, nitrogen oxides rapidly alter this conductivity, causing a near-immediate response in the electric field. PM2.5, however, was associated with a delayed response. The researchers attributed this difference to the particles' longer atmospheric residence time, meaning they remain in the atmosphere for longer periods, as well as their different microphysical interactions with surrounding air and atmospheric components. The study also identified a pronounced "weekend effect." In Israel, traffic volumes and some industrial activity decline significantly on Fridays and Saturdays. During these periods, concentrations of both NOx and PM2.5 dropped, and corresponding changes were observed in the atmospheric electric field. “The weekend signal demonstrates just how sensitive the electric field is to changes in human activity,” the researchers noted. “When emissions decline, the electrical environment adjusts at once, providing a high-resolution indicator of urban atmospheric conditions.” The findings showed that pollution levels can influence not only the chemical composition of the atmosphere but also its electrical properties. Researchers said the results strengthened the case for using atmospheric electricity as an additional tool for environmental monitoring, particularly in densely populated urban areas where anthropogenic, or human-caused, influences are most pronounced. The study also pointed to potential public health applications. By combining air-quality measurements with observations of atmospheric electricity, researchers said they could gain a more complete picture of how urban atmospheric conditions change over time. “Integrating air-quality data with electric-field measurements gives us a clearer picture of how the lower atmosphere evolves moment by moment,” the researchers added. “It’s a framework that can support both scientific insight and practical environmental decision-making.” Beyond the scientific findings, the project highlighted a collaboration between universities, public institutions and secondary education. Researchers said the work demonstrated how students could take part in real-world environmental research while contributing to studies of air quality, atmospheric processes and their potential effects on society. • We aren't even at the all-star game and Microsoft is talking about an update that will most likely be released during the World Series if not after. A lot can happen in the world between now and the 2026 World Series, including the 2026 FIFA Cup. Tell me about it again after the FIFA Cup is concluded. That should allow plenty of time to prepare for it.
    • Great, tell me when I have a "Bad Pool Caller" elsewhere not in Windoze.
