That's what i was doing now, Just that its pretty clear (to me at least) that all of Blizzard's focus goes on raiding and end-game content for the more dedicated players.

The game starts at 80 either raiding or PvP. Leveling is just a step to get there. It's not hard (thanks to all the nerfs to XP and buffs) to get to max level in less than a month of casual play time. Raiding and PvP can be done on a tight time schedule if your focused at it and don't suck. But regardless, MMO's require time. If you knew this before you started playing, I have to ask why are you bitching now about the time you need to put into a game that entire genre is built on time put into it?

If anyone is interested, I have a lvl 80dk, and a lvl 78 ud mage that im not playing any longer (forever) if anyone wants the account, ill give it to you, just shoot me a pm. The dk's name is Cerri, and is located on Alleria.

I sent you a PM.

I'm more interested in the UD mage then the DK.

Didn't think discussing my experience with the game as "Bitching". But then again, I'd expect as much from the more dedicated player base.

Yes, I'm quite aware of the nature of MMO games. I'm simply stating that even WoW, In all its sickophant fanatical worshiping, Is much of the same as every other MMO in my eyes, My opinion and my experience. You enjoy your game, That's fine. I'm simply saying i'm not - At least not as much as i thought.

It's "bitching" when you knew what you were getting yourself into and knew you wouldn't be able to commit to the time needed to fully succeed at the main focus of the game. I'm still trying to figure out what IQ you need to do that and then you think it'll be okay for you to share your so-called experience's. It's like saying I know Meth is bad for me, but I'm going to do it anyway and when I ruin my life i'mma tell everyone about my "opinion and experience's" even though I knew fully well what I was getting into.

MMO = time. If that's the basis of all your arguements (which is the case here), nobody wants to hear it and nobody wants to see it. You should've known it from the time you bought the game, but if you were living in a hole the size of a pebble and never knew MMO = time then, I hope you do now.

Get to 80. Start doing PvP/Raiding/Heroics/etc. at 80. The game is nearly 100% from leveling to the end game. Once you do that if you feel the same way then sure I'd be more than happy to hear what you have to say. But to sit there and QQ about lack of time to do anything, when you knew ANY MMO takes time to play is a sure way to ride the yellow bus.

Just to point out, I don't play anymore other than some slow leveling on alts on a friends server. But If you joined a guild that doesn't suck and isn't full of bad people, you can clear all of T7, playing for 2-3 hours a day over the course of the week (probally take ya 2 or 3 days). If you have 5 people who once again don't suck, you can clear 3-5 heroics in 2 hours of playtime. If you joined an Arena team, you can get your 10 matches over the course of the week by only playing 2 hours a week.

1-79 = No Fun.

80 = Fun.

Mmm, very true. ^^

In comparison to old-world raids (AQ40/Naxx40/BWL) the current content is a joke.

It is very, very easy to be very, very casual and still see the dungeon side of this game.

For people like me, with nothing but free time the game offers a lot via achievements and all of the other aspects of the game.

Well, That's a very elitist approach, Slane. But like i said, That's what i came to expect from the dedicated player base, So i've nothing against you, Even when you downright switch to personal insultes in response to me talking about a damn computer game.

And to answer that, Guild Wars worked very well for playing a short amount of hours AND getting to see the content.

What part was elitist? If you going to call me that you either A) don't know what elitist means and are throwing it out there as a "personal insult" or B) have a very skewed opinion on what elitist is. Either way, point to me what I said was elitist.

As to the Guild Wars part, you can still do that in WoW very easily. Hell it's what I do when my friend and I hope on are 80's and get a PUG going to clear content. If you joined a guild, you'd do even better.

Anyway to leave a guild if I am the guild master? (yeah, noobish question :) )

Pass Guild Master status on to another member online with the "/gleader <Name>" command, then you should be able to leave.

EDIT: Oh, I think you need to contact a GM then or disband the guild with /gdisband.

Yeh thats why they added 10man versions of all the raid instances in WOTLK , added new battlegrounds and re-vamped all the holidays to be more solo friendly. Not to mention the lvling was made easier for a solo player, heroics made easier so entry level was more approachable oh and lastly made Naxx so easy that 90% of servers have people puggin it 25man on a nightly basis.

Seriously everyone of your posts is jus you whining about youve not been catered for or recieved instant gratification in end game. What do blizz have to post you the epics?

All this elitism crap well you know what jealousy gets you no where so go QQ to people who care. Honestly why post in a thread if your just doing so to noise up others?

Also may I remind you guildwars and wow are too very different games so QQ-ing about how one isnt like the other isnt a little redundant in my books. Its like comparing **** to toothpaste.

Was that your guild Slane? If so, good job.

I can kind of see where Chaos is coming from. I don't expect to have the best gear if I'm a casual player that's for certain but perhaps more content for the casual player. There's only so many times you can run the same instances. Which is also true for the raiders. From a business stand point, they have more to loss and gain by keeping the raiding and pvp crowd happy over the casual player who may or may not be subscribing next month due to time constraints.

Anyways, they do have ten man versions of the raids, you can get epic gear just from casual pvp, it will just take a little bit longer.

My issue with WoW: A lot of the players. Too many know it alls who lack social skills on the server I'm on. (Thorium Brotherhood)

Really? Even better than Death and Taxes was back in the day? Impressive!

They beat DnT for C'thun and KT in Naxx back in Vanilla. DnT stayed close with them throughout T4 and halfway through T5 before DnT died*. Nihilium (former name) stayed first for the rest of BC content out perfoming Curse/Sk-Gaming (same guild new names) until SK-Gaming managed M'uru and KJ before them. Overall Nihilium was the leading guild in BC only losing 3 or 4 kills to another guild (not including Kal/Brut/Fel in SWP since those were tested beyond belief on PTR's). Before the release of LK Nihilum and SK-Gaming merged into one guild called Ensidia. Basically took the players from each guild who worked/synced together to form a super guild (if you want to call it that). They cleared all content in LK of T7 the weekend of release, and two weeks later cleared Sar 3D completing all challenges. They've contunied this in T8, clearing Ulduar first (not snagging first kills on all bosses due to lag that was spread throught all realms and it was a guessing game who would be stable enough to get the kills). And so far have been in the top of all hard modes, inlcuding World First Mimirion which is by far the hardest fight in Ulduar so far.

There the only gulid to kill Mimiron hard mode, it took 15 days (a really long time until a 2nd kill on a boss) for a Chinese guild to kill Mimiron on hard mode. And nobody has done it since. They had 4 10 man groups all working on Agalaon (can only be accessed after completing 5 hard modes (not an easy task)) and one of the groups managed to snag Agalaon the other day with one of there timers. Another group killed Yogg-Saron with no Keepers (previously thought near impoosible). One can only assume that no keepers Yogg-Saron and Agalaon in 25 man will be coming shortly.

* Death and Taxes faded away into nothing for awhile there. They re-rolled after they died to horde on managed to clear all content in BC (including KJ before patch 3.0). They continue the alliance guild but it's casual in the sense they don't go for first and won't raid hours upon hours for kills (though I'm sure they do like all guilds when the "raid time" ends and that last attempt was a 2% wipe). The horde guild goes for top 100/250/World Firsts kinda of guild.

To be fair D&T got jacked out of both the c'thun and KT world firsts. Both the EU and US got the c'thun hotfix on a tuesday which for the EU ment that they didn't have to reclear the instance to get to c'thun (EU resets on Wednesday) where as D&T had to reclear the whole instance that day. And for KT their instnace bugged out preventing them from attempts for pretty much a whole day.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Nihilium is a bad guild, I'm just saying that they didn't really crush D&T all that much back then. Also D&T got the first 4H kill which, imo, was a much harder (and more fun) fight then KT

:)

Actually it was people saying that the 25man no lights was near mathematically impossible. I'm not saying they're right, just saying that they were talking about the 25 man :)

I've let my account expire but keep up with old friends. There's a post on the raider forums bemoaning the lack of DK or Paly tanks so if you're interested in moving to a hardcore guild—assuming you're not already in a high-end guild—have a look at Conspiracy (horde) on Shadow moon. They're doing reasonably well: ranked 75 US. If I were looking to play hardcore I'd be jumping back in with them in a second. Everybody there is fun to play with, easy to get along with, and they know a thing or two about beating-up internet zombies. Good players are also good people: who knew?

WRT hard-mode Yogg: I think that a lot of the world-first type guilds aren't spending too much time worrying about him. I know of at least 3 top-100 guilds that have said he's not a priority until hard-mode only boss is out of the way.

That's what i was doing now, Just that its pretty clear (to me at least) that all of Blizzard's focus goes on raiding and end-game content for the more dedicated players.

From a former hard-core raider, I feel like the exact opposite has happened. The casuals one the day and the sort of guild I liked playing with is no longer relevant to the current game.

There's only so many times you can run the same instances.

And that's what they've done to all the hardcore content. Hard-mode consists of doing the same stuff you've been farming but with one had tied behind your back.

I agree. It seems every one has epics now. It's kind of irritating. I liked feeling like I had accomplished something back when we were doing BWL and AQ. I liked seeing only a few guilds with high end gear. It wasn't elitist. It just made your accomplishments feel significant. Well...As significant as they can be in a video game.

In regards to your second part, I know that they implemented the ten and twenty five man stuff and upped the difficulty but that gets old fast. Thankfully they keep churning out patch after patch.

    • AMD 26.6.2 driver brings FSR 4.1 support to RDNA 3 RX 7000 series graphics cards by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe A new driver is rolling out to Radeon graphics hardware owners, and alongside support for new games, AMD has just made its FSR 4.1 upscaling tech available to an entire generation of its products. Last month, AMD announced it is answering community requests to bring FSR 4.1 to past generations of its Radeon graphics cards. This would be starting with RDNA 3 RX 7000 products. Right on schedule, this is what's rolling out now with the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver containing official support for over 300 games. Following this, AMD is planning to bring out RDNA 2 (RX 6000 series) support for FSR 4.1 sometime in early 2027. As for the games, this Adrenalin 26.6.2 driver is a recommended install for anyone jumping into Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced remake or id Software's DOOM: The Dark Ages' Revelations expansion. The two fixed issues in this release are these: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing RoadCraft on Radeon™ RX 7000 series products. Purple screen may be displayed when using an HP Reverb G2 headset with SteamVR on Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics products. The known issues AMD is still working on are the following: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Battlefield 6 on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is actively working on a resolution with the developer to be released as soon as possible. Texture flickering or corruption may appear while playing Battlefield 6 with AMD Record and Stream on some AMD graphics products. AMD FSR Upscaling and AMD FSR Frame Generation may show as inactive in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition while playing Battlefield 6 when enabled on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Failure to install may be observed while installing AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub. Model flickering or rendering failure may be observed in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on Radeon RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. Intermittent application crash may be observed on some models while running Blender on Radeon RX 7000 and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. The newly released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver is now available for download from the AMD Software app. Find the official changelog here.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
