Yes yes yes yes yes yes YES!

Another guild killed Algalon and made Ensidia enrage. How? They only went and released the kill vid showing exactly how to kill him! Not only does he have one phase. He only has 3 things you need to do! :D

Cue another 20-30 guilds getting kills this week. :p

edit: Just watched the high rez vid. Completely and utterly certain that if you can kill mim. After this vid. You will down him this week.

Figured he wasn't a hard fight at all. Kill stars. Take there portals when he casts big bang, avoid the mobs in there. Cosmic smash on melee, all melee spreads out if it's on range they simply run away from whereever they were standing. At 10% or so all the adds inside cosmic smash come out, like Sar and adds, but you should just burn. The HQ wasn't very HQ so hard to see if anything else was going on. Think sombody uploading a HD one.

But kinda of ****ty they released that. Take's the fun out of showing everyone.

after a short break from wow I thought why not go back, instead of going on my hunter I decided to continue my DK from where i left off last time. Got to 80 and decided to make it into a tank. The thing i dont get is the difference between "Defence" and "Defence Rating".

My DK has 560 Defence and 666 Defence Rating (when I use Icy Touch)

Ive tried looking around for a few DK Tank guides but can never seem to find any strightforward ones. I dont have any problems tanking heroics or keeping aggro at the moment, even without a shield it does not feel squishy. I have heard on my Travels that to tank you need:

540 Defence and 690 Defence Rating.

Is it true that you need both or will having one just do the trick?

I cant remember being critted in a heroic or one shotted yet, generally if the healer is lacking then Raise Ghoul > Death Pact becomes my oh s**t button. Also almost 2 Manned loken on heroic with another DK after the rest of group wiped after first nova so i dont think its that bad.

Im not sure if i am ready to tank Nax 10 man yet with my current gear and HP pool(28k in frost presence, doesnt actually show it on armory) however ive never given it a go to be honest.

Here is my armory, any suggestions/tips would be great.

690 Defense Rating is 540 Defesce Skill

Basically rating affects your skill. Like Crit Rating affects your Crit (skill). As a tank you have an Rune (forget name atm) that gives you 25 defense skill which is simply +25 to your defense skill.

So if you had 500 defense skill and used that rune you would have 525 defense skill. However if you had a 25 defense rating you would only get like 10-11 defense skill (I forget exactly how much rating is worth in skill).

BTW You are perfectly fine to do 10/25 man Naxx. Your stats are alot better than what I had when I started and I had zero problems. Go tank **** and get some upgrades.

One of my friends has decided to farm up full Dungeon Set 2 because (IMO) it was the most hardcore set of level 60 gear you could possibly get.

We're over 50 UBRS clears now: still no Magister's Robe. I'm curious if it'll take more runs to farm up a hand-of-rag for my paladin than it will to get that thing. Ridiculous.

You are fine tanking heroics and 10 man Naxx. Get the Titansteel helm and feet made. Get the tanking cloak from LW made and work for some heroic epic drops. Once you get better gear, you can drop all the dodge gems and gem for straight stamina. One thing to remember... NEVER gem for parry.

Drop Glyph of the Ghoul. It's useless for you. I would also drop Glyph of Icy Touch. For glyphs, you either want to use Glyphs that maximizes your DPS or enhances your tanking talents. Glyph of Icebound Fortitude is also useless for tanks too btw.

Here's my DK tank. I'm blood though.

So my friend and I and more than likely two more people all play on different realms. Looking for a new realm to start up a 10 man raiding guild, or join one (though there's 4 that's nearly half the raid) in the MNT/CST time zone. It's a major pain in the ass to find a place to chill out that's relatively lag-free and has a decent population so we can get some new people and start raiding. It's almost like I want print out the names of all the MNT/CST realms put 'em the hat and pick from it 100 times. Which ever realm I pick the most, that's the one we go to.

Has Blizzard ever mentioned anything about doing World Servers instead of having European Realms, North American Realms, Asian Realms etc?

Some of my buds are living in America now but I'm in Europe and we would like to play the game together on the same Realm but obviously it isn't possible unless we both have European or we both have North American Accounts.

Has Blizzard ever brought up the idea of world-wide Realms that both European and American can access?

I've got a mage and one of my friends has a dk or paladin that he may be willing to transfer.

Provided you're good with my lax-for-hardcore-raider schedule (2 or 3 days a week tops).

Well it's already a Tank DK and DPS DK (me) so no more DK's. lol. The other two is mage/pally. Not sure what spec pally is. I've always prefer'd range DPS to melee. So what I was figuring was DK tank, DK DPS, Rogue DPS, Pally Tank, Hunter, Mage, Elemental/Resto Shaman, Holy Priest, Resto Druid or Holy Pally. Basically having the shaman for lust and a third healer if need be. Of course with dual-spec we could work different specs out it all meshed quite well. The 10 players all skilled is the ultimate goal. But a way to distribute loot a bit more evenly would be awesome also.

As to raiding, I've recently got a job and will be working again, so I'm waiting to see how many nights off from that I can manage (hoping three) and that would be tops. Of course if there's a 4th night that week and all of us are on, I don't see why not! :p Though this probally won't be fully ready to go for at least another month, maybe 3 weeks. Still gotta scope out a realm or stay on Terenas.

To be honest were not looking to be top/hardcore/whatever people call it. Just want to have a group to be able to do all content on 10's, all hard modes. Get all the achievements (even the **** from T7, Sar 3D etc.) we can and what not. So if you are intrested that's awesome and I'll defiently contact ya via PM or jump on your server and talk a bit more in-depth. Just let me know name/server.

So I hear making large amounts of gold is easy now. What should I be doing as a blacksmith for this to be the case with me and what is the best course of action for getting enough gold for a chopper? I'm impatient.

One small step for man...

stepcloserorbit.jpg

One incredibly large headache for me.

Possibly the worst designed fight ever, we died to:

- Invisible fire walls

- Passengers not hooking on to the boss

- Getting frozen though out of range of the AoE

- Beams spawning when the boss wasn't engaged

- Boss 1 shotting us as we entered the instance

- Pyrite which wouldn't hook

- People getting stuck to walls

- Pyrite we couldn't shoot down as the targeting reticule got stuck on the adds surrounding us

In short. It's a buggy horrible fight I'm NEVER EVER going to do again.

But, as they say, it all goes towards a greater goal:

twotogo.jpg

I'm in a 10 man guild (more or less) right now. Willing to level with you all, if it actually comes to fruition.

Let me know.

I'll let ya know when everything is finalized and it's up to you. Though all of us are/will be level 80 and would be looking to do heroics/raids right away. Once we figure out the days/times it's a matter of a few weeks for the people who need to me (me for sure) to take off from work. I'll keep ya informed though.

Way to go Spookie. Hoping to be where ya at here soon. :p

Edited by Slane
Spookie did you have the FL randomly teleport around the room healing itself too? We have that happen all the time. :p

Can't say we did fortunately. Having nothing but trouble with Generals hard mode atm. Everyone was having an off day. Looking more and more likely we might not get the drakes before reset.

ARGH.

So, I got my blizzcon ticket yesterday! I actually got a bad spot in line but a friend of mine managed to get one at the last second. 5 seconds after he said purchase completed on vent the site refreshed and said sold out. So yay! Now, they better be giving away a diablo 3 beta key this year :)

Scratch that went in got him to 150k before the add spawned, nuked the add, ticked the boss. Bam dead, Yogg left and we've got 2 entire nights free yay! \o/

Lucky we don't have any such event in Europe then. Imagine the drama. :p

    • OpenAI's new GPT-5.5-Cyber tops Claude Mythos 5 in vulnerability benchmark by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI today announced a major expansion of Daybreak, a cybersecurity initiative designed to help defenders find, validate, and fix software vulnerabilities earlier in the development process. The availability of powerful AI models has definitely changed the cybersecurity landscape by making vulnerability discovery much faster. However, the bigger bottleneck for the industry is now patching those vulnerabilities. Impacted software teams need to validate the discovered issues, understand their impact, develop fixes, test them, and deploy patches. Back in March, OpenAI launched a preview of Codex Security, which uses agentic reasoning with automated validation to discover high-impact issues and actionable fixes specific to the codebase. Since then, it has scanned more than 30 million commits across over 30,000 codebases; more than 70,000 findings were marked as fixed by human reviewers, while over 500,000 findings were automatically determined to be fixed. Now, OpenAI is releasing an updated Codex Security plugin that can run deep scans, review recent code changes, generate security reports, trace attack paths, validate findings, and create codebase-specific patches for human review. It can also triage findings from existing scanners, advisories, bug bounty reports, and ticketing systems. OpenAI says the plugin can export results to vulnerability management systems and integrate with workflows using SARIF files, CodeQL queries, the Codex CLI, and the Codex app. Back in May, OpenAI announced the preview of GPT-5.5-Cyber, a new model built on top of the recently released GPT-5.5, designed for specialized cybersecurity work. Today, OpenAI launched the full version of GPT-5.5-Cyber through a limited release for verified defenders. On CyberGym, GPT-5.5-Cyber scored 85.6%, compared with 81.8% for GPT-5.5 and 83.8% for Claude Mythos 5. It also scored 39.5% on ExploitGym, compared with 25.95% for GPT-5.5, and 69.8% on SEC-bench Pro, compared with 63.1%. OpenAI also announced the new Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, which will allow security vendors and service providers to use GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber in their products and services. Accenture, Akamai, Cisco, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint, SentinelOne, Wiz, Zscaler, and others were listed as initial partners for this program. OpenAI is also launching Patch the Planet with Trail of Bits, HackerOne, Calif, researchers, and maintainers. More than 30 open-source projects have committed to participate, including cURL, Go, Python, Sigstore, and pyca/cryptography.
    • AMD confirms 26.6.2 FSR driver breaks on many Windows PCs by Sayan Sen Earlier today AMD released a major graphics driver update as it brings support for FSR 4.1 to Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs. The new update, version 26.6.2, also brings support for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and more. And while the driver technically supports Windows 10 version 21H2 and newer, the tech giant has confirmed that there is a major issue with the new driver on non-Windows 11 PCs as it fails to launch properly on such systems. The error message says, "The version of AMD Software that you have launched is not compatible with your currently installed AMD graphics driver." Therefore on the surface it looks like a compatibility problem. AMD has also confirmed that the device manager will display the yellow bang or yellow exclamation sign alongside your GPU under the Display adapters dropdown. Here is what the Radeon team's official advisory recommends to affected users: "Users Running Windows 10 and AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 May Encounter Yellow Bang in Device Manager Affecting AMD Radeon RX Series Graphics ... Our Engineers are currently investigating this issue and will provide a fix once it is available. Affected users may revert to AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.1 as a temporary workaround." As such you should revert back to the previous 26.6.1 driver which was released earlier this month. In case you were looking to play Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations you will probably have to wait a while if you want the driver to support those games officially. You can find the support article here on Microsoft's website.
