I don't have a choice, it's a guild raid pack that you must use - has some odd 20 addons.

lol your guild forcing you to use a ui, thats outrageous, if my guild told me to do that i would /gquit .

I dont care how good or bad they are there are certain things and addons the guild can insist you have and entire ui though is stupid.

It's to get a better guild synergy (so our guild leader says). Considering this guild is one of the, if not the, top guilds on the server i'm not going to complain till i'm decked out in epics.

Found an eye-patch in the guild bank yesterday. Guild seems to be dying since the guild leader and a number of people left to play Aion Online, so I didn't really feel bad taking it.

Anyhow, decided to grab a few 2-3g armor pieces from the auction house to match while I quested in all the starter zones. Got exalted with Stormwind and Exodar last night. Only 3 more cities and the Argent Crusade left to go. :)

My UI and "pirate-y" armor:

Oh, and yes, my character is female. Girlfriend made me, though I certainly agree with her that only male dwarves and night elves look cool. Oh how I miss the horde sometimes...

Okay....I redid my UI the other day like the one I quoted but now I have to know - What are you using for the frames, map, action bars, chat? I'm guessing that's Fubar up top and Carbonite for the quest help. I love the the health display at the bottom, very Diablo-esque.

It's a bit of a compilation along with some self customization. The author of the UI made changes throughout the lifetime of the UI, some wonderful, some... not so great. I used to use the Diablo font as well, but that gets tiresome mostly because the numbers 5 and 6 in Diablo look so similar.

Anyhow, addons used:

Roth UI - Unitframes, Diablo 3 art, Orbs, Minimap, Chat (Called idChat).

Dominos - Action bars, using ButtonFacade and Roth's older button facade theme. He now uses rActionBarStyler, but I really don't care for it.

Of course, I use ChatMOD in conjunction with idChat, as it's the best chat addon I've used. Though, a new author seems to be running the show as of late, not sure how well it's working now since I haven't updated (haven't had any issue with it yet so I didn't see a reason to).

I'll get some actually playing screenshot up later I guess if you'd like.

Two days non-stop farming, and I am now the proud owner of the rarest vanity pet in game.

It drops 1 in 2,125 chances.

The Disgusting Oozeling is now mine.

I have to be mad or crazy, as I've set my character up to farm another one for my Worgen for when I wake up tomorrow..

I hate pets. I really do. It would be nice if they simply stayed out when you entered dungeons, BGs, new zones, or whatever, but they don't.

On top of that, I was excited to get the proto-drake whelpling, but even though it flies off the ground with you, it doesn't keep up at all so... :/

Yes, our guild does not have many good raiding guilds. As far as i can tell on my server Dark Pact and Nerv H. are the best.

Dark Pact is the third on the server.

Nerv H. are 29th.

But the point is no guild should ever force you to use those addon's like that. I understand they trying to make sure people have essential addon's (omen, DBM, etc.) but that looks like it would just hinder your ability to play.

I can't remember about the proto-drake, but many of my flying pets like parrots and tickbirds seem to keep up with me fine. :)

Like... when YOU fly you mean? I'm not talking about just running around. From what I can see, it doesn't. Even so though, zoning will still kill them anyway so it's still relatively pointless.

With that thought, it'd be reeeeeeeeeaaally nice if Blizzard had some new tech to the engine that made your pets and companions follow you better. It's annoying jumping off ledges only to have your pet run around the long way, aggro-ing everything in its path. :pinch: (Yes, of course I dismiss them before doing any jumping in instances now, but that's beside the point)

Here's a patch coming to Aion Online even that allows for such freedom to pet mobility. I'd kill to see something that smooth in WoW.

Yes yes, I know, different games... but WoW has certainly been known for ripping great ideas off of other MMOs (just as they have ripped from WoW of course), and given how much I enjoy WoW, I really don't mind. They've already taken some wonderful stuff from Warhammer Online, even with 3.3 coming out. Hell, as I recall, Blizzard came out with quest givers being shown on the minimaps not too long after Hellgate: London was out and about. Not sure what games beside Hellgate had it exactly, but I distinctly remember it being the first game I had played that actually had that. Was very glad to see Blizzard throw that feature in too when it came.

Oh, legit? I had only really heard of Dark Pact and Nerv H, thanks for the info.

So I know it's kinda late in the patch, but my guild finally downed ToC 25. I don't know how long the guild itself has been trying, but I only joined a month or so ago. Over the past month we've made great progress each week. First time I ran with them, we couldn't get past faction champs. The next week, we couldn't down the twins. The past two weeks we've had difficulty on Anub, but finally last night it seemed like everything just worked. It took about 4 attempts, I think. We kept getting him to phase 3 (which was further than any previous attempts), but we had problems keeping the tanks up. Once we switched around the MT and an OT, we did just fine. I also got Boots of the Icy Floe, so it was an all-around great night for me.

Tomorrow we'll continue our attempts at ToGC (we're stuck at FC here as well).

Ya... moths fly with me, too. :) There are a few fliers that stay on the ground still, though. (I just tested, the moth stayed with me flying from Icecrown to Storm Peaks)

Unless you're talking about hunter-type pets... I have a hunter, but she's too young to tame still let alone fly so I wouldn't know about those.

Anyone else unable to log in? I'm having loads of trouble with Blizzard's web servers timing out and I can't get past authentication in-game. I suspect it's all the bozos that refused to convert their accounts to Battle.net hammering the system now that they can't log in.

Welp, I'm here to show off my character.

Link 2.

And my Christmas / Wishlist of wanted dropped items.

And this is what I see when I'm playing in a normal group:

I'll take some pictures of my raid layout later today after I wake up. :)

That wish-list site is pretty cool, but it ranks hit rating WAY too high. Still, it's nice to see an easy list of possible upgrades without having to fire up Rawr.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
