I guess to many people canceled their accounts and SC2 pre orders so they had to reconsider? They don't say they were wrong by trying to do this only that they had to basically cave under the pressure of so many lost accounts.

Aye, money talks I'd imagine.

I did, though it was the day the info was released and before I knew about it. I had my other reasons.

I did as well (My SC2 pre-order). Blizzard didn't have info about this though: our pre-orders would have been through retailers like ebgames or best buy,

there would be a fair amount of time between me calling up and cancelling and somebody in a position of power at one of those shops to inform blizzard.

I think the instant and overwhelming negative response probably had a lot more to do with the change of position.

Agreed. I doubt it had much to do with the probably relatively very small amounts of cancelled preorders.

Basically, they just took the path of least resistance. The people that were for it aren't really affected and the people that were against it get to sleep again at night knowing their precious name is safe.

I need help, I was trying out a new UI, and reverted to my old one. But now Bartender 4 won't display all bars. The bars in question are both enabled and viewable middle of the screen when 'unlocked' (aka moveable and green overlay) but when I lock the bars - they disappear.

Hello, my name is Lucas Gomez Estevez, I am 21 years old, I live in Heredia, Costa Rica and I go to Universidad Latina. I would give you my old USA address but I don't live there anymore, so it's not worth it.

I'm scared now, internet killerz will killz me nowz.

Your about a week late to the party.

It may seem funny... But think about it for a second, okay?

And then in 6 months time 'Anyone in your guild can see your real name' and then 6 months later 'Your player Avatars are now your real name'.

It started with a Friends list. People you added to your friends list could see your real name. Then anyone on your friends friend list can see your name, now anyone on the forum can see your real name. What's next?

You need to look at the big picture.

Only people who you have given your email too get to see your name. Just adding to friends list does not grant you their name. This is a paranoid attitude and to leave before anything of the kind is even talked about is over the top.

I hope we can all forget about this Real ID nonsense someday and get back to good ol' WoW. It's nothing more than a overblown attempt to draw in teens, tweens and "twits" (i.e. Twitter users). That, and the inclusion of Facebook pretty much makes it dead obvious. I guess it's cool they're trying to rake in more players, but they're going about it all wrong. Pretty soon, WoW will just be a buzzword instead of an actual game.

I find Real ID pretty useful since I actually have real friends on WoW that aren't necessarily on my realm/faction.

going to re-register later,

I'm still on my 1st character level 55 or something, human worrior.. can anyone recommend any good add-ons? what was that map add-on that tells you where to go next so it's easy to find quests n stuff?

TomTom is a GPS style addon that will put an arrow for you to follow on your screen. As for quest helpers, some people use QuestHelper, some use Carbonite, I used to use QuestGuru.

    • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
