i never said that Worgen were all of a sudden added into the game (tho i can see how that could have been interpreted from what i said)

i'm fully aware they have always been there, i remember killing them in dark shire (i don't know about lore, don't really care)

doesn't change the way i feel about them

my theory is just that Activision wants to throw Worgen into the game to grab that teeny-bopper-twilight crowd

just like the BE was added because AMG HAWT ANIME CHARACTERS I'M LIKE GOKU OVER 9000

horde where crying so much after BEs. all the kids switched over and they got all the crap DPS and started losing all the BGs

and ya, 99% of the DKs i group with are total scrubs

i hate them

I was unaware Activision makes World Of Warcraft now. ;)

Twilight has no place in WoW

And I hate to smack you in your face but Activision has NOTHING to do with Blizzard. They are a distribution company. That's it. They are wholy separate entities than Blizzard. The only reason in a conjoined merger is because it's beneficial to both companies to have resources between the companies that they can share and utilize. Ideas wise, Blizzard is Blizzard and Activision is Activison. Pull your head out of the clouds and realize that ALL Warcraft information, etc are retained by Blizzard. Activision has no rights whatsoever to the properties. They have as much right to the franchise, it's story, and it's lore as you, or I.

And if you're so upset about the Worgen, name another race of things that the Alliance can get from either the First or Second War.. hell I'll be so generous as to say the Third war, even though WoW is set somewhere in the middle of Warcraft 2 and 3. I'll be waiting as you really can't name one other than the Pandaren.

A forewarning though: Please don't play with people who read Lore daily, and have been praised by blue posters for their knowledge about it, you will be stomped on and embarrassed.

8k is nothing now; In our 25 man we run (normally) 2 DK's; 1 tank + 1 DPS; DPS easily reaches 11k and I've seen close to 14k DPS on certain occasions. But yes, the point is the same - any class, including DKs are great when played properly.

wow, well i haven't played since january so i guess some things have changed haha.

Activision bought Blizzard, therefore they have a certain amount of pull in the overall "direction" the game takes.

It's debatable how much.

Activision is the preliminary share holder, yes, but everything else at Blizzard remains the same.

2. Blizzard - New Billing, Same Independence

One of the intriguing things about the old Vivendi structure was that, even when Martin Tremblay joined to run Vivendi's publishing, it was specified: "World Of Warcraft creator Blizzard Entertainment has been designated a stand-alone division reporting to VU Games' CEO, and is not part of Tremblay's product development mandate."

And it's the same deal, more or less, in the new system - Mike Morhaime will continue to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Blizzard Entertainment, and no explicit reporting structure is even discussed in the release. Blizzard will continue to plough its own furrow, then.

my theory is just that Activision wants to throw Worgen into the game to grab that teeny-bopper-twilight crowd

... you really need to go read your Lore, what you said is just plain ridiculous.

Maybe i didn't understand your post, but did you just say WoW is set between WarCraft 2 and 3?

I hope you're joking.

And worgen were never really introduced until World of WarCraft, including their past lore.

Yes, they were.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Genn_Greymane

Read.

Genn Greymane was one of the human leaders who met at the council to form the Alliance of Lordaeron. He was hesitant about joining, and was difficult about it, and less sincere when he agreed to it. However, he pulled Gilneas from the Alliance after the Second War. He was also deeply influenced by the House of Prestor, which was actually led (at the time) by Deathwing in human form.

When Alterac's rulership was removed, he had his eye on that land there, even though he had no right to it. He supported Aiden Perenolde's nephew's claim to the throne. Lord Genn Greymane never supported the Lordaeron Alliance in the Second War. Thus, after the war, he constructed the Greymane Wall: a massive barrier spanning the entire northern border on the edge of Gilneas and Silverpine Forest. He joined the Alliance in the Second War, but offered only token support. Thus Gilneas had essentially remained separate from the Alliance of Lordaeron. As ruler of one of the strongest Human nations, Genn Greymane was convinced that his own armies could deal with any threat, and therefore remained unmoved by Lord Lothar’s pleas for unity. Despite his apparent disdain for the Alliance, the denizens of Gilneas harbored no fondness for the Orcs or their allies and were prepared to meet them blade for blade.

A small group of soldiers known as the Gilneas Brigade joined the Human Expedition led by Jaina Proudmoore during the Third War, but they likely were not sent by Genn Greymane as Gilneas was secluded from the rest of Lordaeron since the end of the Second War.

And play through the game on both sides. You'll see that the game IS set between and AFTER Warcraft 2 and 3.

Yes, they were.

What?

World of WarCraft is set 3 years after The Frozen Throne, WarCraft 3 expansion.

And yes, i know all of those stories with the worgen, but it was never really introduced until World of WarCraft came out. Arugal had a big part in that as well....

EDIT: This will help:

The worgen's first verified appearance in the Eastern Kingdoms has been traced back to the Third War, when the archmage Arugal utilized the wolf-beasts as a weapon against the Scourge. Arugal's weapons soon turned against him, however, as the curse of the worgen rapidly spread among the human population, transforming ordinary men and women into ravenous, feral creatures.

Gilneas in Warcraft II:

Background: Despite the impending Orcish invasion, Gilneas has remained separate from the Alliance of Lordaeron. As ruler of one of the strongest human nations, Genn Greymane is convinced that his own armies can deal with any threat, and has therefore remained unmoved by Lord Lothar's pleas for unity. Despite this apparent disdain for the Alliance, the denizens of Gilneas harbor no fondness for the orcs or their allies and are prepared to meet them blade for blade.

Gilneas in Warcraft III:

In the Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Orc Campaign: The Invasion of Kalimdor in Chapter Three: Cry of the Warsong, one of the human factions you face has the force name Gilneas Brigade, implying that people from Gilneas travelled to Kalimdor with Jaina and are very likely still with her now.

This is Gilneas' flag from Warcraft II.

are you all honestly arguing lore facts on a made up thing? psst, you all know the people and places in warcraft aren't real, right

My world is shattered.

You have crushed my hopes and dreams.

I thought it was real.

.

Come on.. Seriously?

Yes I know it's not real, I'm just correcting a mistake that a couple people have made saying that the Worgen didn't exist in the lore prior to WoW.

even though WoW is set somewhere in the middle of Warcraft 2 and 3.

Ummm, no it's not. It's set after Warcraft 3. Throughout Warcraft 3 and it's expansion, The Frozen Throne, the main story is Arthas finding Frostmourne and becoming the Lich King.

Know your lore and game periods. Egg on face.

Gilneas doesn't necessary mean "worgen". Again, worgen never really appeared until WoW.

Worgen were not in the Second War (WarCraft 2) or the Third War (WarCraft 3)

Scroll down to "Current history of the nations"

Post-Third War

see: Worgen

I think he means that the Worgen have been in it since the war, because the Worgen are what the people of Gilneas were then, they still are the people of Gilneas, merely Worgen also now.
