I highly disagree!

I've just come back after a 3 month break and decided that I do not want to play like I used to (raiding/dailies religiously). I've too decided to work on Loremaster, The Seeker, and other various achievements, like the Exalted. Lightheaded + TomTom make finding quests very easy. There's a little bit of a limbo while you figure out exactly how to use LH, but.. it is more then sufficient. I just finished On the Blades Edge and Terror of Terrokkar today. Working on Nagrand Slam.

Playing WoW like this ^, as a single player game, has it's upsides. Even though the game thrives on the social aspect, feeling as though you have no ties to the game, at least for me, makes it much more fun... and easier to walk away from when the girlfriend wants to go out. ;)

They haven't said that's for sure yet, but they've thought about it.

I'm wondering if the 310% increase will affect Druid's flight forms too.

At the moment on beta there is no special attunement for azeroth, once you learn to fly you can fly in azeroth (at any speed) and yes it affects flight form.

I've heard rumors that green drops will be even better than t10's in cata. Is this true? I'm calling bs my self.

Probally. Not until 84/85 though. And most people probally won't replace 'em so they can keep set bonus. I believe it's suppose to be like Vanilla -> TBC gear wise and not TBC -> LK.

Didn't Evn write a post up about 4-5 pages back about this?

251 is trash - you'll get greens on par with that within 10 minutes of questing.

264 lasts for a little while but within a couple of hours (end of hyjal/vashj'ir, start of deepholm) you'll be replacing it.

277/284 starts getting replaced at the end of Deepholm which should be about 12 hours after you get the expansion. Even Shadowmourne won't last until level 83.

Just as an example consider some fast daggers:

Heaven's Fall, Kryss of a Thousand Lies

Item level 284 Lich King 25 heroic

  • 381-572 (1.8 speed)
  • 125 stamina
  • 76 Agility
  • 48 Critical Strike Rating
  • 56 Haste Rating
  • 1 socket

Dimension Blade

Item level 318 quest reward (Level 82 zone)

  • 397-738 (1.8 speed)
  • 150 Stamina
  • 100 Agility
  • 73 Critical Strike Rating
  • 55 Haste Rating

Or Slow axes

Havoc's Call, Blade of Lordaeron Kings

Item level 284 Lich King 25 heroic

  • 481-895 (2.6 speed)
  • 113 stamina
  • 84 Agility
  • 48 Critical Strike Rating
  • 56 Haste Rating
  • 1 socket

Riftrent Waraxe

Item level 318 quest reward (Level 82 zone)

  • 574-1066 (2.6 speed)
  • 150 Stamina
  • 100 Agility
  • 67 Hit Rating
  • 67 Mastery Rating

Other items like trinkets don't last long either. For example Heroic DFO is worth about 5% haste rating at level 80 but only about 1% at level 83. Under ideal circumstances the proc is worth about 250 spell power (10 minute fight where you do nothing but stand and DPS). There are quest reward trinkets that work out to being equivalent to 300 spell power full time (no procs have been added to trinkets yet because many items are buggy. Staff drops/rewards in beta don't have bonus spell power for example).

So unlike BC -> LK, those in the top tier of gear, won't have a huge advantage gear-wise. I was doing Naxx still in T6 gear, but reading what you said, by 85, you might have one or two pieces from 80, but most of it will be replace with greens/quests rewards?

I would be very surprised if you had anything from level 80 by the time you got ready to raid. For starters ratings go to hell. You can be dripping in full ICC25h +hit gear today and you'd be barely ½ way the cap. Crit, haste, and mastery ratings are also way too low to be viable at end-game. Things hit substantially harder and you need to be able to take a couple of smacks because "lol aoe" is no longer a viable healing strategy. The stamina differences are pretty extreme.

If we assume the pattern that crafted gear is roughly on par with equal level dungeon drops/quest rewards then there's no way you'd ever choose any level 80 gear over even the worst level 85 gear.

For example:

best-in-slot 277 gear vs crafted level 85 blue.

In Cataclsym the 277 belt has all of the superpower removed but it's got 15 more intellect: it actually gets replaced by quest rewards at level 82, the crafted belt is orders of magnitude better.

I replaced 6 pieces of 277 with greens and blues by the end of level 82, and haven't run any of the new dungeons since they added loot to the bosses. I doubt I'll have any wotlk gear left by the end of 83.

lol, quoted for the sheer awesomeness of this typo.

Don't you dare editing this out ! :)

A 5 year old should be able to compile their own Linux kernel too apparently. After all it's just typing numbers and letters.

looking at the userbase of noobuntu a 5 yr old apparently can use linux. and compiling your own kernel doesnt require skill either. My uncle runs gentoo from stage 1 and he can barely type

Actually, then youll whine about how pointless raiding has become because the gear there sucks (worse than epics)

I hope you're not talking to me. No I won't whine because I know how to look at stats on a piece gear. Anyone who complains that gear is bad because it's not purple is an idiot. Besides epics will still drop in raids, it's heroics they are mostly removing them from.

More importantly they are making quest gear rewards viable again. Cataclysm greens will make ICC raid epics look like garbage.

I dont know if I like the idea of 264 gear being phased out that quick in cata.

THere are 5 levels worth of content: if you want the last two dropping gear that people look forward to then stuff has to be replaced in the first 3. That brings us to scaling where ≤251 is instantly replaced, ≤264 gets dumped at level 81, and 277/284 gets replaced at 82. Obviously you're not getting 18 slots worth of quest reward gear every level so you'll have some pieces of "bad" gear that'll last until Uldum or Twilight Highlands but it's not hard to see when the writing is on the wall.

By the time Cataclysm comes out we—as a player-base, not necessarily you specifically—will have been raiding ICC for more than a year (counting PTR). Do you really need to get an extra 12 hours with gear that old? 264 is a tier behind end-game so if you made it viable until level 84 then people in 277/284 would have yet another expansion where they beat the game using gear they got a year ago.

so just cancel all existing dungeons and quests, head to blasted lands and start on outland?

are they are disadvantages of not completing a lot of dungeons and quests?

Yeah, just ditch what you have and move on - No real disadvantages, except perhaps lost quest completion counter for achievements etc.

there's so much XP to be had and the quests are really, really easy in Outlands. Not to mention the massive gear upgrade, green gear in Outlands

pound Vanilla epics to the ground.

I did 58 to 63 in Hellfire Pen. Granted that's in two pieces of heirloom gear but the quests aren't hard, rewards are plentiful and there is a huge amount of quests to do.

    • I've always preferred this possibility. There is something that feels good about the idea that all matter in the universe will eventually come back together and maybe even result in another big bang. The idea that the universe would fizzle out over the eons and forever drift apart is a little depressing. I realize it is not logical to let a basic human desire for life to have a grand everlasting meaning change the way I feel about a scientific theory, but I am human, so that is how I feel :-).
    • Windoze 11 could finally go to hell, instead of making me savor yet another error I've never had. "Bad Pool Caller" or whatever TF cryptic crap0la message it is. Adding salt to injury, it says something along these lines (on the blank black screen after it hard stops): "Your windoze needs to restart. You can restart." NO WAY SHERLOCK. The PEECEE, look, it's *blocked*, I can do jack sh1t with it as it is and you say that it needs to restart? Further, that I can restart? What am I supposed to do, take a herbal bath? Sudo a sandwich? Timewaster pile of useless slop and errors, coded by monkeys and force-fed on us by a pedo-founded corporation, that's all there is to it. Now, let's have a fun weekend trying to handle the error, which after a quick internet check can basically be due to EVERYTHING, from memory faults to drivers to motherboard issues. Thanks M$.

It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. • Microsoft, why can't I just turn off Copilot on my MS account (in order to stop OneDrive from wanting to summarize everything, ahem) in a way that doesn't break OneNote instead?
