The best shaman you've ever known is in 251's and not even 12/12 on regular mode either 10 or 25?

Ever stop and think that he doesn't care to do those things, or maybe just can't get into them because the upper echelons of the game are too focused about gear score now ?

Don't take this the wrong way but how can you come to the conclusion he's the best Shammy if you've not seen him in a HM raid?

um... :whistle: The following quote by 'Spookie' represents my thought process and that you simply don't ever stop to think. To quote your sarcasm.

I wasn't being rude, Minifig, its just that I have alts that I have havent played in months due to xfer'ing my main that outgear him. Now, does that make me a better player, no, but.. I would just have to think that you've come across and/or know (of) better shamans, who express their skill in the ways your friend does AS WELL AS raiding Hard-modes.

Don't take this the wrong way but how can you come to the conclusion he's the best Shammy if you've not seen him in a HM raid?

How's that relevant ? From his perspective, his friend IS the best Shaman he ever known, you can't even begin to argue against that because you don't know how many (if any at all) Shamans he does know !

Pulling 500 DPS at level 10 is nigh impossible but when and if someone pulls it off, I'll be damn sure to call him the best [class] I've ever known, HM's or even raids aside.

From WoW.com

The latest and greatest Cataclysm beta build includes a list of new titles available in the game. We don't yet know exactly how we'll gain access to these titles, but we're certainly free to speculate. Probably most exciting to players is the return of the PvP titles.

* Assistant Professor

* Associate Professor

* Hero of the Alliance

* Hero of the Horde

* Ishmael

* Professor

* Veteran of the Alliance

* Veteran of the Horde

* The old PvP battleground titles have been brought back.

The old PvP titles from vanilla WoW were earned mostly through time investment rather than strictly win/loss ratio and were required to get access to better tiers of PvP gear. The battleground titles were scrapped in The Burning Crusade but are now returning with the introduction of rated battlegrounds. The titles will now be based on your win/loss ratio, rather than grinding time. The old PvP titles were:

Alliance

* Private

* Corporal

* Sergeant

* Master Sergeant

* Sergeant Major

* Knight

* Knight-Lieutenant

* Knight-Captain

* Knight-Champion

* Lieutenant Commander

* Commander

* Marshal

* Field Marshal

* Grand Marshal

Horde

* Scout

* Grunt

* Sergeant

* Senior Sergeant

* First Sergeant

* Stone Guard

* Blood Guard

* Legionnaire

* Centurion

* Champion

* Lieutenant General

* General

* Warlord

* High Warlord

How about at level 1?

So much win, just proves how parts of the communities knowledge trumps what the rest thinks impossible (even this simple) or doesn't even consider (including ideas in end game, not just about simple dps records).

... Eh. I guess I look at things on a grander scale than some of you. :s

Mac people! How big is you ''World of Warcraft'' folder? I have played WAY less, almost non-existant and considered just moving the folder to an external so I can easily just copy/paste if I want to play (takes mere minutes) rather than install and keep up with dvd/cds. Anyways, I can avoid that (not that it is pain staking) by cleaning out the folder if possible.

Currently sitting @ 19.32GB; all patches / updaters are gone except the background downloader and Blizzard updater.

Anything else I can do to slim it down, or ~20GB is about what it is?

most likely your screenshot folder and your addons are going to be the largest if you have already removed your updates

Sadly, it is neither:

Screenshot are not kept in the wow folder on OSX, I know on Windows they do; However, all screenshots on OS X go to the desktop by default. (Though the folder with the screenshots its multi GB because I am a screenshot-aholic).

As for addons - Interface folder is 32MB.

If you take screenshots and movies using WoW's commands (and not OS X's commands), they go into the screenshot folder inside the WoW app folder.

Hmm. screenshot of folder? If you do not mind. I'm actually in the process of moving it anyway, since I had to move a great deal of stuff anyway.

Mass movement of media day. ;)

I Know I'm not the guy who you quoted but here's mine, 16.9GB. I have a ton of addons and screenshots though.

Okay so!

Not sure how valid this post will seem as I've had a bit to drink and am honestly unsure of what has happened to me.

More or less; I've received 4-8 emails about my battle.net account being closed due to suspicious activity. Now, I've never been one to be suspicious, especially with online services (looks around >.>). The only thing I can think of is the recent WoW.com offer of a Cataclysm beta key through another website (I forget the website's name right now..like I said.. I've been drinking).

Apparently I sent out HUNDREDS of emails.. all of which were denied due to spam filters.

I've had my Gmail account pre-public access. e.g. 2003, invite only.

I've had my WoW account since 2007.

Both were hacked and I don't have access to either.

I guess that I serve as an example to all those who are unsure; DO NOT SIGN UP / POST PERSONAL (your email address..) INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET....... ANYWHERE.

I hope no one else suffered the same fate as I did.

Sounds like the virus that's going around ... VBMania. I would try running a virus scanner and see if you have anything infected.

Alright so here's whats up;

Email was for, for the time, compromised. I had to answer security questions and change the whole password situation.

My battle.net / wow accts. were not compromised at all. I do have an authenticator and apparently just repeatedly put in the wrong number.

I tried to stress that I was pretty drunk when I posted last night. Fall asleep at your computer drunk. It was a post of confused rage fueled by box-wine and mysterious emails.

All is good. Be careful.

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
